I'm trying to stay focused until we can get some new info on the real perps here, but the more I hear about BL there was just some sort of disconnect there. Geez, when asked what Shaniya liked to do and what his memories of his beautiful daughter are, all he could come up w (besides scooter scratching his car) was how when HE was watching tv, she would come behind recliner to watch him watch tv... probably hoping for some attention. I mean did he ever do anything w her? I'm sorry, but I'm really just getting the impression BL wasn't involved at all--and could care less where Shaniya was or what she was doing when she wasn't there. JMO

In post 146, I took that information right from the court calendar. Based on the calendar, he shows up for the kidnapping charges on 12/2/09. Then on 12/9/09, he is scheduled for the Murder charges. Although, I can't find him listed on a court calendar for 12/9/09. All links are provided in Post #146.

Patty, I thought that was his original court date with his original charges. I thought the court date was moved to Dec. 9th when 1st degree murder was added.
Anyway, that's what I have scribbled on my notes, so IDK could very well be incorrect. But I have Court 12/9/2009 Charges: 1st Degree Murder and 1st Degree Kidnapping.

ETA: It also still shows a bond.

He has two separate court dates BUT more then likely, when he pleads "not guilty" to all charges, the trial will consist of all charges except for his traffic violations.

I checked and NC prohibits roadside memorials/non-regulatory signs on the highway. What they offer as an alternative are Adopt-a-Highway memorial adoptions and landscape plantings.

I would be more than willing to call and check to see how much it would cost (min was $250) to participate in the landscape planting if anyone is interested.

Believe it or not, I hate the memorials myself. Of course, they are everywhere in the South (for traffic accident victims, for religious purposes, for spots where people get married, just about everything.) So it sounds like the saddening part for both of is, is that there is nothing there. At all. Except old crime scene tape that no one thinks twice about when they drive by.

At the very least (while I think on this some more..) I am taking down the shreds of crime scene tape.

Well, I'm from North Carolina and when the law was enacted to prohibit roadside memorials, many loved ones of those who had died in traffic accidents or murdered or whatever were horribly upset but were given a deadline to remove the memorials or the state would do it. The reason given was that the memorials were a traffic hazard and distracting to motorists. My personal opinion FWIW, I would not want a memorial of where my loved one met a horrible death. I would want a memorial to celebrate their life in a beautiful place so that I could go and remember them as they were in life.

Well then out with it, are you making an accusation that Brad was willfully and knowingly involved in the selling of murder of Shaniya?

This case is being investigated as we speak. I'm not accusing him of being involved with human trafficing, kidnapping, rape or murder, if that is what you are asking. That said, I definitely feel that he has contributed to Shaniya being put into that environment. I simply don't see how he can wiggle out of that responsibility. It appears that the bio momster's reputation and lifestyle weren't exactly a secret. He is busy on a campaign to make himself the innocent party to what has happened to this tiny little girl. He has already put the blame on God. I haven't heard him say anything about the two monsters who did this to his very own little girl. I'm observing right now, if my observations develop into anything, I'll let you know, first thing, promise.

Just a short comment: I have been following missing children and women cases for the last five years on the web, but all my adult life really. It bothers me that in just the last year the public has had to hear from different parents of dead little girls that they were just trying to give a a chance. 1. Nevaeh Buchanan's mother just wanted to give a registered child sex offender a second chance and allowed Nevaeh to be around these sex offenders. She is dead. 2. Shaniya's father just wanted to give a drug addict a chance to be a mother and gave his little girl over to her. She is dead. 3. Caylee Anthony's grandparents wanted their daughter who was an irresponsible, thieving, lying self-centered to be a mother to Caylee. She is dead. If I seem a bit pi**ed at these parents/grandparents, you are right, I am. Getting a bit tired of no one giving these innocent children a chance.

I don't think I'd want to go there either. JMO
People are different and I do not blame the family if they prefer not to look after a place where Shaniya was dumped like a piece of trash by a murderer.

O/T:
When I was a senior in highschool, my best friend was killed in a car accident. I live in a small town and would go around the world to get where I needed to get without crossing that spot on the road. It took me years to be able to go there.
I know this is not the same, but I see how a family would feel this way.

The blaming God thing, did he actually say God killed my daughter, or is it his faith y'all are questioning? As in God does everything for a reason? Or God allows things to happen for a reason. That is what some people believe.
They also believe they must forgive.
I would have a really hard time forgiving the murder of my child, but I was taught you should forgive in all situations. It's a faith thing.

I'm not saying that is exactly how I see it or how I feel, but it is taught and believed in a lot of churches across this country.

I agree; a memorial should be in a beautiful place that captures her spirit in life.

Have you heard if the city of Fayetteville has discussed a memorial?
