GUILTY NC - Teghan Skiba, 4, Smithfield, 19 July 2010 #5

  • #101
From Linda7NJ in the now-closed thread:

I'd love them to get MRIs of this guys brain... Before he's executed
My money is on frontal lobe damage.

Would that make a difference to any of you regarding your personal feelings about him?

For me it doesn't. He's still defective and needs to be put down like a rabid dog. For him as much as us.
He would be equal to the rabid dog where as I thought less of him than the dog.

Interesting thought experiment - made me think.

It would affect my overall regard of JR but it wouldn't change my belief that he needs to be removed from the community. Some research indicates a correlation between frontal lobe injuries and acquired sociopathy while other studies conclude that the evidence is too weak.

As for the DP, a lot would hinge on whether or not the damage is repairable in his case. If not, then he poses an ongoing lethal threat to prison personnel and other inmates and I'd accept death as a reasonable solution. If it is repairable, I'd be willing to consider LWOP as long as there was solid, incontrovertible supporting evidence.

It's moot in JR's case anyway, because he showed indications of awareness that he got himself in trouble, removing the possibility that he had no control whatsoever over his actions. Plus, such extreme violent behavior would have landed him in jail (or dead) a long time before he met HR and Teghan.

Aw hell, just burn him. Grr. :furious:

My turn again...no sound...did they turn it off?

My wish is that the jury would go back, take a vote, be unanimous first try, and ring their bell lickity split.

WRAL NEWS in NC ‏@WRAL 1m

Closing arguments complete. Judge says he will charge the jury soon and will allow them to begin deliberating today. #JonathanRichardson

he is making a point about since his mom and dad and step mother didn't care why should we care about JR.....

They knew they had a bad seed -- even mawmaw said she was afraid of him. He was a "hot-potato" child, I'm guessing...(for those of you who know the Hot-Potato-Hot-Potato game!)

I really like the way Judge Lock gives the instructions -- very clearly, not in a hurry, emphasis when needed. I noticed this in the guilt trial, too. He is the equivalent to our beloved Judge Donald Stephens in Wake County -- Senior Resident Superior Court Judge. This case got the Big Guy!

I know right.... bring out the violins.... and strike him on the head with them, over and over and over and over.... :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Hey, I resent that - I play the violin and wouldn't waste even my worst fiddle on that cockroach!

Now, a nice, heavy tuba is a different story..... :innocent:
