Was that the same residence that there were neighbors complaining of a smell? LE had checked one manhole cover, but the neighbor stated they needed to come back and check another one? OMG, poor Zahra deserves so much better. I never thought I would hope a sex traffic sale was the outcome. I just want her to be alive so badly.

Plus, what was the address that one of our WS members photographed a mattress that hadn't been taken away by LE?

I believe the manhole issue and that mattress in the woods were both at the trailer that they lived at just previously to hickory house (current residence).

hi, I'm a newbie, so if I mess up I hope someone can help me out...You all do a great job here...

I was noticing that on the police blotter it says that AB was arrested at this address, which is the hickory police station, is it possible that the police along with Ab decided to have him come there in the middle of the night to avoid a media frenzy. The police Doc says nothing about the airport? Baker, Adam Troy (W M, 33) Arrest on chrg of Worthless Check, M (M), at 347 2nd Ave Sw, Hickory, NC, on 10/25/2010.

Welcome and you are absolutely right-they may have arranged to have him surrender himself on the worthless check charges, all they while holding the more serious charges in their hand, so to speak.

HLN just had a snippet on about the arrest of AB.

The attorney representing Michael Mead on a murder charge in Gaston County is now involved with the ongoing case of Zahra Baker, a missing Hickory girl.

Mead and his lawyer, Lisa Dubs, were scheduled to appear in court Monday to argue for a change of venue in his murder trial. An early-morning call changed that plan, according to Gaston County Assistant District Attorney Robert Forbes.

Forbes told Judge Robert Bell that Dubs called to say she and Mead couldn’t be in court because she’s now been assigned to Elisa Baker, the 10-year-old girl’s stepmother who has been in jail since Oct. 10 for obstruction of justice.

Forbes told Bell that he didn’t think another case elsewhere should affect court proceedings in Gaston County.

Bell asked Forbes to approach the bench. There was no further discussion in open court, but Forbes said the matter will come before the judge 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

hmm, maybe the police gave him a little rope to run as long as he cooperated. He possibly lead them on a wild goose chase with the mattress and to send a message, they locked him up.

this!

the video I posted showed the new search site on dudley shoals road

http://www.wsoctv.com/video/25502773/index.html

(there it is again ^^^)

It looks very wooded where the LE vehicles are pulled off the road searching. Not sure if you could recognize the spot from the video...

Thanks! Ok....besides AB being arrested, I'll add this search to what I believe. And hope and pray that this leads to whatever happened to sweet Zahra.

Wasn't the Burns Road address the one she shared with AY?

It's the one she was at when she was charged with failing to return rental property.

Thanks so much for the map. Wow, what a lot of land in that area. Is this area north of the airport? Just trying to picture it in my mind.

Yes it's North of the airport and across the Lake.

It is North of the Airport, but WAY North. Mapquest tells me 20 minutes from my house, and I am 5 from the airport. It is out in the middle of nowhere, remote as far as distance between houses, and civilization!

Hello all--this is my first post. This case resonates with me, and I've been so inspired and impressed by the efforts of everyone on this site!

I was just thinking that perhaps LE chose to arrest AB at the airport because it is a very public place with a lot of security? If they feel or have reason to believe he is either a flight or suicide risk, it would be one of the best places to ensure that the arrest went smoothly, IMO.

I think someone here at WS had posted a map like this one the other night and even had commented that EB had lived around there at one time.

I am thinking that the tip might actually be a very good one. I will be sure to take a break for lunch soon so that something will happen, lol. Something always happens or breaks when I am away from the computer!

Is there a link to the photo?

Confirmed time of ARREST/booking ( 3:12 AM ) per Hickory Police Dept. Site:

http://www.hickorypd.net/p2c/Summary_Disclaimer.aspx

see snapshot attachment of brief details[/QUOTE

Ok, so if this is the "arrest" time, which it may be as this is the police site, not the jail site and the choices are "arrest, accident, or incident". Then the location shows as being 347 2nd Ave., which is the police station. This would mean that the arrest took place at the station and not at the airport. If it had taken place at the airport, then that address would be listed as the location.

I sure hope EB is shaking in her shoes after AB's arrest and the latest search area!

which makes me think that it was voluntary and they had set up that time.
