NC - Zahra Clare Baker, 10, Hickory, 9 Oct. 2010 #40

As Baker, along with his mother, brother and attorney left the house, Hickory investigators continued their search elsewhere.

They spent much of the day searching near the area where they found Zahra’s prosthetic leg Oct. 26.

Investigators were checking wooded areas, illegal dump areas and walking along Christie Road about half a mile from Pine Mountain Road

“We will continue until we are absolutely certain we have searched every inch of the property,” Whisnant said. “We’re still hard at work on this investigation. We’re checking every lead and we’ve got a lot of evidence to be processed.”

MUCH MUCH MORE at the above link including quotes from the landlord

another snip from the article I linked above ^^^^^

Unwilling to state the exact reason for Baker’s eviction, his landlord said the police search had rendered his property uninhabitable.

Officers appeared to have focused their attention on the kitchen and bathroom. They removed sections of ceiling, floor and plumbing. No repair cost estimate was available.

Disgusting... people making money off of gruesome cases. Sick, sick, sick...

Is Gein the guy's real last name? I see "Gein" and the gruesome Ed Gein comes to mind.

I reallyreallyREALLY wish we had some background on AB..

Makes me wonder if there hasn't been someone else. My lawyers have asked me if I wanted to divorce him cause of some stuff thats come out about Zahra. We really didn't kill her but what he did after the fact is kinda horrifying. Makes me scared of him. So I probably am gonna ahead an file I have lost my whole life anyway.

I'm behind this morning .... but is it possible that she's saying "what her lawyers told her happened" was horrifying? Ie; they've told her about the possible woodchipper theory and that is what she's referring to ? Reading it in this context makes me think that she's referring to what's she's been TOLD after the fact not what she KNOWS.

I'm about ten threads behind and have no hope of ever catching up.

Is there a link to a transcript of Elisa's letters? I find the scans hard to read.

OK, now I think I know where I have heard of this murderbilia site. IIRC, this guy manage to get ahold of some of Gacy's clown paintings to put up for sale. I don't recall if he actually did it though. Does anyone else remember this?

That site is very distastful, IMO. Who would care to purchase such things?

I can't understand that not a soul said 'he is/was a good person' or 'what a nut he was'
...neither side? not a thing!
I find that unnerving..........usually we know by now 'something' about
both parties.

okay, one more question I dont see answered anywhere....she's writing to the murder memorabilia dude, right? did he write to her first? she sounds in both of them like she is replying to him and telling him he's her only friend, if she started it and he isnt answering that's weird even for her.

....I'm still not supposed to name call, right? let's just call her "a real piece of work" as my momma would say.

Yes, he contacted her first.

Hi, I'm a newbie. Hopefully I don't break any rules.

The letter's to me sound as though Elisa is trying to distance herself from the whole thing. Anything she says that involves her, she points towards Adam. She blames everyone else for everything. She also seems as though she is trying to show Adam as a cheater, (that makes me think she was by accusing him) and let this guy know she will be single. She seems as though she is trying to establish more than a friendly relationship with him. "If" LE had Zahra I think they would release that fact. I think Elisa is still trying to obstruct the evidence in this case. I know some would disagree with me, but I think she is the one that instructed Adam to make the 911 call. I think he thought it was just another one of her schemes. I also think, I may be wrong, correct me if I am please, but if they had a joint bank account, wouldn't Adam be responsible for her bad checks too? Could that be what his warrants were about? I have not established a guilt or innocence yet towards Adam, I'm remaining neutral. I do however think Elisa is very guilty. The leg was found near a residence that she lived at before Adam. It is highly unlikely he would go somewhere he was unfamiliar with to dispose of something as incriminating as that. LE has said he has always cooperated with them, he has been anywhere they asked him to be. I think Elisa had a hatred towards Zahra. I think whatever happened. She had personal pleasure in doing. Now she wants Adam out of the picture. Notice she says people want to kill her. By letting this letter out, it is almost like she wants someone to do that to Adam. JMO.

I do remember this. He has had the website a long time I had seen it before. I had not heard of him writing non convicted inmates before. I thought him aimed bigger so to speak.

Such as people movies are based on and famous people. I guess it is a hard market and he is tring to keep it fresh. :waitasec:

The way I look at this letter if it's proven to be written by her and imo that is quite likely... is that what EB is saying happened or didn't happen is most likely an out and out fabrication on her part..I don't read it as a confession as to what really happened in the least..although I do hope that it can be used as leverage against her in some way. She obviously is admitting that she KNOWS what happened and I believe that she was telling her new 'friend' what she has cooked up in her mind as her explanation to what happened to Zahra..she may have told LE the same story and they ain't buying her version, thus the reason Adam is still out of jail..jmho..

Or she's trying to tell an old friend this, via the new friend.

"We didn't really kill her"

because...
she'd already died from an infection (due to our neglect)?
we found her dead in her bed one morning and panicked?
she hated living with us and committed suicide?
(Just putting myself in EB's head with these possible scenario's)

Like many of you, that phrase gives me pause. Is EB suggesting that "they" did nothing to harm her, she was already dead (even though she could have died from neglect by them -- is this a major example of rationalization?), they only got rid of her body?

The 911 call also makes me wonder. NG played it over and over last night, so I had a good chance to really listen to it. AB's voice, at times seems very chit-chatty "hey, how're you doing?", but at other times, his voice sounds hollow to me -- devoid of feeling. I dunno. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. But it just doesn't add up.
