I do have to say that hearing they are draining a pond did give me some solace - even though they are taking the woodchipper apart piece by piece - God please let them have put her in that pond rather than the other alternative.

I did not sleep well last night - it is so hard to imagine the evil.

I had nightmares about woodchippers and.....well, ugh the horror!

:sick::sick::sick:

:praying:

It's the whole package (SM), not a few songs---in light of what she's likely done.

One of the family members said she was addicted to pain meds. I am betting she sold OXY.

Wow. That would explain the lack of reports from family members who were witnesses to the alleged abuse against Zahra.

As for 'Oxy' - scary, scary stuff. There was a program that aired here on the ABC ('Four Corners') a couple of weeks ago detailing the rise in popularity for the drug. I was completely gobsmacked people are resorting to pain medication intended for cancer patients.

Here's another article from an Australian newspaper today:

There are some revolting human beings walking this earth. :furious:

while we are in this lull in the conversation let me just say to you all that I am so proud to be associated with WS and all of you. As fast as this case has been breaking, thanks to all the combined mindpower gathered here we have been at least three steps ahead of most of the press on this one!

Looking for the back patting smilie . . .

Can't say I am surprised or even that I see this a "Bombshell" moment.
It is extremely common for users to also deal a bit to enable them to pay for their own supply.
I'd feel pretty safe saying she wasn't making and profit off these sales- just making enough to continue the high.

not a bombshell moment that shes selling but answers a BIG question to me why more didnt call in abuse alligations

I've been away from my computer all day and see I have a ton to catch up on. Can someone PLEASE fill me in!!

Kaylynn, best I can remember, here are the high points for today:

SM in court. Her atty asked for bond reduction. Goes back to court Nov 3rd.

New search was started in a different area in Burke County. Early this evening, they started draining a pond there. Reporter didn't know if they were working off a tip or had other info that led them there.

And you can see what was said about her having sold drugs, inc. to family members.

Other stuff -- BB (one of the two B-named young ladies, the one married to nephew) apparently has a facebook page dedicated to Zahra and SM's sister and daughter (BS, the other B-named young lady) were posting on it. Daughter was miffed at BB, called her a fake on that site.

Photo somewhere in one of the earliest threads today shows pic of Zahra with bruised eyes/face. Discussion about that is interesting.

Help me fill her in, y'all...what else?

I've been a longtime lurker here at WS but check in at least once a day. This case has really pulled at my heartstrings more than any other.

I would bet that the drugs being dealed were opiates of some form, either heroin or "hillbilly heroin" aka painkillers.

The family may not of turned her in for abuse not so much because they would lose their connection but more because she could (and I believe would) have used that against them-and they could have had their own kids taken from them.

Do people actually buy meth? It's so easy to make that I figured people just make their own. Just speculating, I don't really know.

And whoever said western NC has a big meth problem, spot on. One of our local radio stations does a segment every year around the holidays where they pick the caller with the best story about how a meth lab explosion ruined the holidays. ::shakes head::

I hope SM didn't sell Zahra's pain killers!!!!

You just KNOW she did. She didn't care about that little girl's pain. It makes me so very sad. :(

There is a special place for those who decided to put their next "high" in front of a child's suffering........and it looks like a few more just got reserved seats.

The same family that knew about the abuse was buying drugs from her??????? Someone quick....take my keyboard.

Ditto. I am... I can't say speechless, rather filled with expletives.

  • #179
Bombshell!!! SM was selling drugs to relatives! I hadn't heard that before! Anyone else?

That could certainly help explain why there were so many relatives aware of Zahra being mistreated but not going to authorities demanding intervention.

Like I said the other day- (wow was it only yesterday?) if she was cooking meth the hazmat teams would have swarmed the place.

I'll go out on a limb and say the moving around was because the rent money went to keep the party going.

I'm totally ignorant about meth. If it's cooked up in a home, does the toxic stench disappear between batches or does it keep building up and getting stronger?
