A neighbor found Barnes' dog running loose around the residence around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The police department is asking the public to be on the lookout for Barnes and his truck, a black Ford F-350 with Montana plates having the number BKP580.

There is also a Patriots sticker on the truck's windshield.

According to the police department, Barnes family members say this is very out of character for the Montana native. The department has concerns for the safety of Barnes.

If you have any information, you're asked to contact the Williston Police Department at 701-577-1212

Police searching for C-Falls man missing in North Dakota
“Definitely from the information we’ve received it is not normal (for him),” Hendricks said of Barnes being out of contact with friends and family.
She said police had been told Barnes hadn’t been to work. His dog was spotted running loose behind his apartment complex by a neighbor around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
His truck, a black 2009 Ford F-350 with Montana license plate BKP 580, is gone, and police believe he might be driving it. An alert to police about Barnes and the truck has been sent out statewide, Hendricks said, and Barnes has been entered into a national police database as missing.

Williston appears pretty rural. (I am sure most of ND is!) I don't know where he was living, but the Mississippi river is near the town. If I had to guess, he probably moved there to work in the oil drilling going on there. I know a few guys from MN that moved up there for that work.

Police say missing 29-year-old found dead in northwestern ND

WILLISTON, N.D.—The discovery of the body of 29-year-old man who had been missing since Wednesday, June 6, has his family wondering what happened.

Members of Williams County Underwater Search Recovery, along with Williston police and Williams County Sheriff deputies, retrieved a 2009 Ford F-350 from the Little Muddy River on Thursday evening. The truck belonged to Brandon Barnes, who was reported missing Thursday morning and hasn't been seen or heard from since early Wednesday. A body, which police said they believe was Barnes, was found near the truck.

On Friday afternoon, police said they believed Barnes' death to be accidental, but that they were waiting for the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

“At this time, it does not appear that foul play is a factor in this investigation," Sgt. Detective Danielle Hendricks of the Williston police said.

Color me confused... Obituary states as a result of a single vehicle accident, yet his body was outside the truck? Can't imagine what might have happened.

My condolences to his family. RIP, Brandon.

Maybe he managed to get out of the truck after it went into the river, but still drowned?
