Day Two Of River Search Ends, No Sign Of Missing Boy
Updated: Sat 10:13 PM, May 09, 2015

From your link Queen Bee (thank you)

(snip)

The search will not resume again until Sunday morning, however, the operation will be downsizing when it re-launches. Saturday concluded the final day of any large scale operation for now.

Douglas County Sheriffs will be the only crews back out in the water beginning Sunday. Crews will only search by boat unless any new significant information gives them reason to do otherwise.

I just got home from work. I was really hoping there would be some word on little Josue. Little one, you are in my prayers tonight. Bless all those searching. Please let justice be swift and severe!

New here. This case has captured my heart. Poor Isme and those sweet, beautiful babies. I keep hoping for a miracle to see Josue has been found alive. I hold out hope that big brother lied and Josue is being held somewhere. He was such a precious boy and did not deserve the tragedy he met on his birthday. As a local to the area I can say I think most of the community is deeply saddened by this and keeping the family in their prayers.
I get this sick feeling big brother is gang affiliated. From some comments made by the niece, knowing the area where most of this happened with the known gang activity in that area of some very violent and brutal gangs, and just his look in that mugshot I have a bad feeling in my gut. He looks so cold. I am thinking he was involved with some very dark and dangerous people and they helped in harassing his mother in the months prior. She wasn't scared for her life for no reason in these past few weeks. I just do not buy for one second that he did this all alone or just with girlfriend. I think a larger group is well aware of what went down that day. Again, jmo.

The Mississippi River is at least 250 miles away. The Missouri River is a bit closer, and the Platt River is very close.

Oops...I may not be able to put off my over 40 readers much longer!!! Thank you, I will fix what my eyes thought they read! :blushing:

Recent article regarding Omaha gang activity.

http://www.omaha.com/news/crime/gan...cle_b7da3145-b853-5ea3-9b52-6cda881a5c1a.html

"Ferrell estimated that more than 75 gangs exist in Omaha and that more than 3,200 individuals in Omaha affiliate with a gang, including people who are incarcerated. He pointed out that only a small number — 1 to 3 percent — of gang members in Omaha are actively involved in shootings on a regular basis."

The area that article is referring about the shooting is not near where this incident happened nor is it typically related to the gangs that came to mind in this case. But yes we do have a gang issue here. The gang that comes to mind in this area of the case that has been related to violent murders here is ms-13, but we have others known to frequent that area as well.

I am not saying Roberto was a gang member, I have no evidence to prove or disprove that, but I think if he himself was not then he was hanging with them. That in itself speaks on his state of mind and would have only fueled any violent feelings he was having. Drugs also are something that was a high probability in my book.

I have been really touched by this one. Having it so close to home and with a mother and her kids it continues to bother me. I laid awake for some time thinking of them. The fear that mother had to go through is unimaginable. Makes me hug my kids a little tighter today. Rest Easy Ismenia. I pray justice is swift and severe.

The Elkhorn empties into the Platt. If this child was really thrown into the river, weighted down or not, I think he may be trapped on a sandbar or on some rocks by now. Because of the weather we've had lately, I think it may even be possible that he could have been carried downriver as far as the Platt, and may be trapped on a sandbar there, where it bends to the east a bit. I am not actually convinced that the defendant is telling the truth, though. He may have just said something like, "I threw him in the river", to be flippant with the police, or because he didn't really want to tell them what actually happened.

While still missing sounds sad, to me it means there is still hope .

OR......no hope of finding him where they are looking. There's always hope.

It just seems so weird that a 25 yr old would be jealous of new little brothers. Why wouldnt he be out living his own life--consumed with girls and parties and jobs, not with what his mom is doing.
I was 25 when my half-sister was born. She is 2 now and I can say without hesitation that I have not once been jealous of her. What kind of an adult is JEALOUS of a baby?!?!

Well after speaking with some people in the area I have learned a couple new things. Apparently neighbors saw CSI taking several things from Roberto's home including rolls of carpeting. These same people heard said word in the neighborhood that he invited his mother over after she picked up the children from childcare. The murder occurred in his home. Police have large amounts of forensic evidence a well as his confession. This relieved me to know he can't recant his statement and that is all police had to tie him. Justice will come for this family!

Omaha police and Douglas County Sheriff's Department deputies searched along the south side of West Center Road between 192nd and 204th streets Saturday night and Sunday morning. It's part of the investigation into the disappearance of 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero.

Police would not comment on exactly what they were looking for. The area is about two miles east of the location along the Elkhorn River where authorities have been searching since Friday. Josue's brother, 25-year-old Roberto Martinez-Marinero, told police he threw the boy into the river.

Search efforts on the river ended early Sunday because of the impending bad weather.

My thoughts exactly. I am getting more suspicious that Josue was not thrown in the river. That location is out of the way of all the others. I can't imagine him wanting to cruise around after that, he would probably be looking to get those kids off his hands quickly. I am starting to think Josue was left closer to baby brother. I don't think he thought this out very well and was panicking trying to get those kids out of his possession.
