NE Patriots owner Robert Kraft charged w/ soliciting prostitution in Florida spa, Feb 2019 *CLEARED*

Am I the only one here that feels Kraft and all of the others are blameless for the way these girls were being treated. If I bought a hamburger at a restaurant that was using a “traffic’ed” workforce what responsibility would I have?

The problem is the laws against prostitution that criminalize a business activity that has alway existed and probably always will.

I don't buy cheap clothes from china because of the child labor used to make these items. I do feel a personal responsibility for what I purchase. I'm sure I may purchase items which use child labor and possibly forced labor but I do my best to be discerning. As consumers, if enough people made enough financial "noise" about the labor conditions in some countries (by not purchasing their goods) things would change, IMO.

These men weren't arrested for human trafficing, but for soliciting prostitution. Are they blameless? Absolutely not. Without customers, there would be no money to be made by the people who control these trafficing victims.

Thousands sign petition calling for Gillette to drop stadium sponsorship after Kraft charges

More than 10,000 people have signed a petition calling for Gillette to remove its name from the home of the New England Patriots and Revolution.

“Robert Kraft believed his power would protect him from being held accountable for exploiting vulnerable women forced into sex slavery. This is exactly the kind of behavior Gillette said it will stand against,” Care2 said in a press release. Care2 is a social networking website that was founded in 1998.

Gillette recently changed its tagline to, “The Best Man Can Be,” in an effort to represent the brand’s commitment to promoting healthy representations of what masculinity means.

I think they'll need more support than 10,000 names on a petition to change the stadium name, fwiw.

“The defendant must be present at this hearing,” court records filed on Thursday morning state. “Failure to appear will result in a bond Forfeiture or revocation of own recognizance and a Capias/Warrant being issued for your arrest.”

The date at the Palm Beach County Circuit Criminal Court comes one day after the NFL owners meetings wrap up in Phoenix.

The New England Patriots owner has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges of solicitation of prostitution. The two first-degree misdemeanors carry charges with a maximum sentence of one year in jail, a $1,000 fine and 100 hours of community service.

Yang says she had long since sold Orchids of Asia Day Spa.Yang, who goes by Cindy, was not charged in the anti-human trafficking operation that shut down 10 Asian day spas in Florida, none of which are registered to her or her family.
Yang’s family still owns several South Florida spas. The family’s Tokyo Day Spa branches have attracted the attention of at least two local police agencies over allegations of prostitution, and are discussed online as places where men can pay for sexual extras

According to a report, prosecutors have offered to drop charges against Robert Kraft, with a catch:
Report: Prosecutors offer to drop Kraft charges

In exchange for the dropped charges, the men would be required to admit they would have been found guilty in a trial. The Wall Street Journal called this provision "unusual."

The defendants would also be required to complete an education course on prostitution and 100 hours of community service, be screened for sexually transmitted diseases, and pay for court costs.

It is unclear if any of the defendants will accept the agreement.

Well, it's really not unusual, it's the courts just having a normal day. Giving wealthy bigwigs a pass has been part of the US jurisprudence system for a centuries. They'll walk and they won't have to do any community service or attend classes or any of the rest.

How about an "Alford plea?" Defendant claims to be not guilty, accepts that there is enough evidence to convict.

Alford plea - Wikipedia

(IIRC Dad & Step-monster of the starved girl in Carnation, Washington entered this plea.)
