Pro Russian rebels negotiate a safe passage with OSCE mission leader Alexander Hug.


The investigators’ relationship with the rebel fighters appears to be improving. Alexander Hug seems to communicate quite well with them. The rebels escort the teams into the crash areas, and escort them home. They help to keep them safer .. leading them into a basement when the shelling was close.

They have been asked to pass the word for looted items to be returned, placed in bags at the site, no questions asked. The villagers have been asked the same.

… perhaps Saturday was the right day for the OSCE to attempt a word-of-mouth campaign to have villagers return items looted from the crash site.

An OSCE official asked rebel fighters to spread the word, that stolen property should be bagged and left where it could be collected in their community – no questions asked.

“THE only thing worse than the hell beyond hell we are going through is the horrific thought that our family may have never existed.”

These were the heartbreaking words from Anthony Maslin who today, along with his wife Rin Norris and their families, said goodbye to their three “perfect souls” and guiding light, father Nick Norris.

Mr Norris and his grandchildren Mo, Evie and Otis Maslin – 12, 10 and eight respectively – were on board flight MH17 when it was shot down over Ukraine two weeks ago.

Today, hundreds of guests gathered at Scotch College to celebrate the lives of the three children and Mr Norris.

A heartbroken Rin, who tried to remain composed as best she could, read out the exact amount of time she had the “honour” of being Mr Norris’ daughter and the mum to her beloved children. It was 41 years, three months and two days as the daughter of Mr Norris, while for 12 years, two months and one day she was the mother of “Mo-man”.

I saw pictures of this dog getting on the plane in Eindhoven. Tip-toeing on the stairs, like Belgian Shepherds do.
The other shepherd appears to be black.

I'll never have a Belgian Shepherd again, but I still miss the one that kept me all too busy... :heartbeat:

Sitting behind a desk on the 11th floor of the city’s administration building, flanked by two Cossack gunmen, the newly-appointed deputy prime minister of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic is fresh in from Moscow, where he has spent the last two years in hiding due to multiple international warrants out for his arrest. He is well groomed, articulate, and possesses an extremely unusual but impressive resume.

“I was invited by the government of the DPR to… revive law enforcement,” explains Vladimir Antyufeyev, picking his words carefully. "I think it is my previous experiences that brought me to consideration for this position,” he adds with a wry smile.

From Transnistria to Abkhazia, over the last two decades Antyufeyev has played an instrumental role in the political architecture of nearly every breakaway republic in the post-Soviet space.

In 1991 Antyufeyev, then a senior officer in the Latvia-based branch of the special police unit OMON, cut his teeth in what was to be a long career of political agitation by helping to organize a KGB-led attempt to overthrow the newly independent county’s government. The bid failed, and Antyufeyev and his employees fled Latvia a mere “two hours before they would have arrested us all,” he tells VICE News. But the Soviet idealist was undeterred.

I was happy to hear him say that the experts need to weigh in. We don't know when those marks were made, as the scene wasn't secured - JMO....

A first analysis of the black boxes of flight MH17 shows that 'nothing special' was discussed in the cockpit.

That was reported by a source close to the international research in the Sunday edition of the New Straits Times.

The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch has monitored the conversations between the pilot and the air traffic. "From what the team has heard so far, nothing remarkable was found. The last recorded voice was not that of the pilot. There was no indication that the pilots saw something coming or noticed what went wrong," said the source. What caused the crash, such as the alleged missile impact, must therefore have happened very fast, concludes the paper.

In addition to the cockpit voice recorder, the black box with flight data is also being analyzed, such [data] as the height and speed of the aircraft.

Translation:

Tomorrow, a new transport with human remains will take off from Kharkov to The Netherlands, where it is expected to arrive at Eindhoven Airport at 16.00 hrs local time. Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, head of the repatriation mission has confirmed this.

In The Netherlands, the same ceremony as last week will be performed, reported Aalbersberg. A minute of silence will be observed, the coffins will be carried out of the aircraft by the military and a mourning procession of vehicles will drive the coffins under police escort from Eindhoven to Hilversum.


Relatives are invited to attend, if they wish to do so.

If the Russian (and that means Putin) backed-rebels still hold bodies from MH17, the only hope of recovering them is to pay huge bribes to rebel leaders. They'll take money for the dead. Or put pressure on Putin, to 'persuade them' to give up the remains (less likelihood of success as he's lost control). In my opinion.
