Holy H3ll! There is the lying down stick figure again and the faces look like skeleton skulls... just heart breaking... how could DSHS ever have thought reunification was even an option.

One thing I noticed about the drawing is that the child is the only one who does not have hands. I can't tell if he drew feet for himself. The common indication is that the person without hands feels helpless, powerless and/or controlled. Even the lying down stick figure has hands and feet. The father figure has hoof-like yet elaborate hands. Charlie had a lot of detail in his artwork...I would say more than most five year olds...was he still five when he drew these pictures?

So, I'm not a subtle person, but I'm seeing what looks like an erection on the man figure (Josh?) next to the child figure (Charlie?)... Is that what you're referring to as well?

I'm totally not trying to be crude, but this was an ugly situation, and that looks like it may be a representation of something ugly that was happening to Charlie. We already knew about the pornographic cartoons on Josh's computer, and some have speculated that he may have been using them to groom his kids... I could be seeing things or reading too much into it.

Well, the way I see it...it is either as you describe it or it is a hatchet (handle down) leaning against the man's leg/crotch. Either way it is utterly disturbing. And, then you add the words, "DON'T PLAY with Me." and it is even worse.

Nah, I see it too sadly. Cartoon incest , Grandpa sits in jail for child & voyeurism, daughter at 11 years old went with dad on a trip & he watched , Josh's mom and the divorce court docs of SP's and her divorce, naked Uncle, Charlie obviously was being fed words & beliefs to follow per the social workers & in a bad environment. Where did his hate words & drawings of Braden come from? Was he crying for help? Gosh, I just feel it was pretty bad for the boys with Josh. Those are red flags to me.

When I first saw the pic I tried to see a hatchet. I guess it could be which is also disturbing. It is a red flag that I hope we will be seeing documents on from the experts who studied it.

Both boys really needed all the therapy possible. Sad..

After looking at the drawing a while, I wonder if Charlie is sitting behind his school desk. (I cannot make out his legs.) When I read "Don't play with me!" I thought back to what I read about what Charlie told his classmate. The child wanted to sit by him and be his friend and Charlie told the child that he was going to come to his house at night and kill him.

Disturbing picture. I saw an erection on the father figure but the person by his side seems to be a person stuffed in a barrel or something. Dead body to the side. Giant lettering, especially big on the DON'T. Lots of anger there, it seems - maybe pointed towards the boy at school but also perhaps at daddy, Braden, the world for taking his mommy. Troubled little boy.

The spacing of the figures is also something to note. The looming creepy father figure is very close to the barrel-chested small boy. He did put a circle and a BIG X around the pair and rather far away from the pair is the stick figure...laying on the ground and within its own circle.

Two other things to note: The detail he gave to the clothing of the adult and the stick figure, as opposed to the lack of detail given to the small boy and then the heavy dark lines and markings.

I would like to see all of the drawings that they kept and especially the ones that Charlie and Braden drew when they weren't at school or counseling.

I saw in the picture: Daddy has an erection; child is on all fours (bending over on hands and knees) next to daddy - questionable genitalia on the child.; chilld next to dad has no available hands to protect himself (his hands are holding up his body on all 4's); no one has ears - there is no listening; Daddy has maniachial look on his skeletal face; child lying down away from the other two is all colored black (dead?); the lower half of the child next to Dad is colored dark (dead?); (implication - if you don't play "nice" with Daddy - he won't play nice with you!?!)

In my experience, children (at this age) do not typically draw genitalia - Huge RED FLAG for child sexual abuse!!!

Not sure if this question was directed at me, Dovebar - but I will throw in my :twocents:

The 2 circles represent separatation (ie: one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong . . . everybody sing). It is leave me alone - go away, keep out, don't invade my space/bubble, you are overwhelming me and I need to breath, step off, get out, talk to the hand. Don't cross the line - it protects me!

In early child learning they begin to "ring" the two items that go together, similarity, connection, and beginning to put together the concepts of "in, on, under, on top, etc.

I agree with all of the above sluethers on the red flags, meanings, and warnings within this picture. Obviously it doesn't take a PhD to realize that something was very wrong! Why did they not do more to protect these boys!!!!! Just makes my blood boil!

Just a thought...is it possible that some of these drawings were done by josh; he suffered from dissociative identity disorder? Were these done in front of others or just produced by josh? He clearly was a very disturbed individual. IMHO
