New leads in search for missing baby Lisa Irwin

  • #61
"The number of tips have dwindled in both quantity and quality," Young said. "Just like we have been from the beginning, we are open to following up on anything that is remotely reasonable."

My money is on Officer Young. He will follow up on anything remotely reasonable. His words were in response to Picerno's statement about promising leads...LOL.

......"remotely reasonable" are the key words here. Tips have gone down in quality and quantity. It was time for the DT to stir things up and keep LE busy and wasting money. It is what they do. And on top of that,, they get to use all the phoney leads and sightings in a court of law to create what they call 'Reasonable Doubt".

Capt. Young is a spokesman for the department. His job is to deal with the media. He is not a detective. He is not investigating this or any case. It would not be his job to follow up on any tips in this case. It would be his job to deal with the media on this case.

Is that a "yes" you were there?
We don't know how LE investigators conducted themselves in the interviews anymore than we know what was said there, or how DB and JI acted or reacted. I've been on the receiving end of LE with blinders on, I know how brutal it can get. I have great respect for LE but I also know first hand that not all of them are the same when they want to wrap up a case.

When it comes to the end of the day, we do not KNOW why they "lawyered up".

No, we don't but I have an educated guess!

Well did "some of us" tell the person who stickied it, that they didn't like that series very much?

What difference does it make????

I was excited when I saw the title hoping that LE found something, then saw it was from the attorney and it quickly deflated.

I hope they do have new leads but I'm taking it with a grain of salt right now until it comes from LE.

Exactly what I was thinking as soon as I read that this information came from the defense attorney of the parents.....deflect, deflect, deflect!

I hope it was the media going to ask for updates. I hope they will not let them forget, keep asking for interviews, quotes, keep questioning who is looking for Lisa, how and when. If JI/DB's egos will get the better of them and they would talk, it's possible that one day they will say just that one little phrase, one tidbit that will help LE solve the case.

Wasn't the last comment received from Deborah Bradley when asked by a reporter on why they would not speak with them, was that they were "grieving"?

I can't remember another comment after that one.

I'm am willing to make a safe bet that Capt. Young confers with the detectives who are investigating this case prior to making a comment on any progress on the case.

....or a German Shepherd pee on one.:great:

Sorry to veer a little O/T amidst such an important discussion..lol(and am in no way trivializing the fact of Lisa's still missing, but rather sadly the true lack of fruitful discussion)..anywhoo..

momtective, I had to comment and say that I absolutely love, love, love your newest 2012 siggy(which includes our Baby Lisa).. It's perfect and I too have hope yet that 2012 will indeed bring atleast some(of course my prayer is for All) of them back home.. If even for them to be laid to rest as each of their loved ones so see fitting.. Allowing those loved ones atleast the solace found in closure which marks the beginning of the extremely long and difficult road to grieving their loved one.. For that I still have hope..

Beautiful and poignant signature, mom that I believe that each of their families would more than approve of and appreciate your keeping their loved ones name and therefor story alive..

Thanks DeAnn. I did not not what his function was.

I have noticed that in some of his interviews, he does not appear to be up to date with what is going on with the detectives. When he is aware of things, he will say that he cannot talk about it, but other times he says (or it is clear to me) that he is not in the know about some things.

For example, I'm going to provide the link below of when Megyn Kelly spoke with him around 10/7. She asks him twice about DB 'failing miserably' the poly, stating that she got the info from a LE source. Capt. Young says: "We're not saying that" "I can't confirm that". He goes on to say "I am the voice of the investigation", which says to me that he is the only source we should listen to. Megyn also asks Young about whether Jeremy offered to take a poly, and Young could not confirm that either.

I'm not insinuating that Young should know all about the case, if his job is limited to PR/media. However, in light of knowing this, I can't discard that there may be some worthwhile new tips that are getting investigated. I hope so.

I DO believe that someone from LE is leaking information to the media. Whomever that person is should be fired imo.

"Don't Talk to the Cops Video Series
Don't Talk to the Cops Video Series

We've discussed a lot in this forum about whether people should talk to LE without an attorney. Several of us have linked in this excellent six part video series, which is a seminar given by an attorney and a LE officer.

It's frequently referred to as Don't Talk to the Cops, and also called In Praise of the 5th Amendment.

Highly recommended for all sleuthers! These videos are just a wealth of information.

In trying to understand the forum there is a disconnect apparent that is most curious. So ThoughtFox responded to my post and a natural function on a message board is asking questions. Hope this helps Truthwillsetyoufree.

Media consultants know exactly what to say and how to say it. Just because he answers the questions in an odd way to you doesn't mean he doesn't know the answers. LE media people purposely try to be vague many times due to one reason or another. Don't believe for one minute that LE is going to send their media person out in front of the cameras without knowing exactly what to say and what not to say. Whatever LE doesn't want the public to know, they will say that they "can't confirm" it. So, you as the public don't know if they really can't confirm it or they just don't want you to know. It's just the way that they work.

Then there is really no point in Young even addressing the public because he never gives out any information. Fine if LE doesn't want the public to know things, but why bother to give interviews that provide no answers to even the simplest questions.

Yep ... one of her last comments to the media was that they were "grieving" ...

And wanted to get back to "normal" -- you know, more "adult time" for :drink:

MOO ...

Fire the LE source who is leaking information??? Good Grief! For over a hundred years that is the way we get our news. Reporters used to have LE as the source. D#$$n Defense attorneys got into that also. These attorneys are the reason LE has to have a specific Law Enforcement Officer to talk to the public. They have to learn lawyer speak and, as of now, can't confirm anything when a suspect is not arrested. They have to use vague terminology, because God forbid, if they didn't, they would have a lawsuit on their hands.

Some attorneys love to go after LE. LE are like sitting ducks. One wrong or misplaced word and they are sued by an attorney.

....It never ceases to amaze me how so many people in the public arena love to go after Law Enforcement..

Because they are trying to give the people what they demand and the lawyers have placed invisible duct tape on LE"S mouths. The public want answers but they can't really give them much because of DB/JI's attorneys.

The attorneys must be thirsty about now..not hearing much if anything from LE. It's a cat and mouse game about now.

Oh, I'm sure Capt Young knows everything about the case. He just can't say. He was chosen to lawyer speak for the Police Department. He knows if JI asked or didn't ask to take a poly. He just "can't" confirm it. IOW, he is not allowed to tell the public.

He is a Captain. He has worked in LE for some time and has seen many cases and I'm sure has played a major part in investigations. Let's not cut him short and say he is just a person who talks to the media. That may be his assignment at this time but not forever.

on Ashley Irwin's facebook, she posted the link to this article. She commented (paraphrased): This has been in the works for weeks. I don't know how soon we will have information we can release. Thank you for the prayers.

Yes, don't talk to the cops.

If you don't want your missing baby found.

You think LE doesn't release information to the public about an investigation simply because of defense lawyers? Even in cases where there are no defense lawyers present? I'm not so sure about that. I think they don't release information because they don't want to jeopardize the investigation (witnesses, potential evidence, etc).
