Personally, speaking as a poster here, I've always though many of the peripheral players in this case (and of c
ourse, many others) get too much attention which just takes away from the victim. To make this all so public just re-victimizes her.
Yes! And I do believe she is a victim. Just because she didn't return home in a box doesn't mean she wasn't victimized. I'm sickened and disgusted by the boy's Father. What an oaf.

Please don't tell others how or what to post, that is against TOS. If you feel a post is against our terms then please alert and let the Mods check it out and take care of it if needed.

Abby is a victim as well as her family. No theorizing on pregnancy. Abby's family are not suspects and are not to be discussed in this manner.

I do feel bad for JCJr. It must have been so tough on him. His girlfriend was missing, he had no idea what happened or if he could have prevented it. And I'm sure it's emotionally tough on him having a new gf and AH returns. He probably doesn't know which way is up.

Age of the man they are looking for....is the 40ish and approximation by Abby? If so, he could be a good decade younger. When I was her age I thought all my teachers were elderly. Looking back, they were probably in their 40s. :)

The article can be discussed. We can't put the toothpaste back in the tube and we didn't create this mess, the BF's father did. Please keep this conversation centered on what the BF's father said and do not go off on further speculation. The kids are minors. Personally, I think the father made a terrible mistake in behalf of these kids. :(

Follow Imamaze's guidelines.
Remember - Abby is a victim !!! No 15 year old girl should be missing from her family, no matter the reason!!!

In his 40's...disgusting. Hope they find this 🤬🤬🤬, who knows what else he might do.

I sincerely hope, I know we all do, that Abby has not suffered during the past 9 months.

I cannot figure out how the cops could have spoken to her for 3 hours and not know if she was taken by force or not. She obviously is communicating if they made that sketch.

This whole thing is so fishy and makes absolutely no sense.

Now I am not bashing LE with what I am about to say; I am genuinely baffled. So we have this sketch and very vague description of him and his car. But we know that LE must have seen a postmark on the letter. And surely Abby had a general idea of where she was taken (as in, "we drove until it got dark" "we headed towards Maine"). I mean she is 15 so she must have a decent idea of where things are located relative to her home town, or how long it takes to get somewhere by car. Abby must have spoken to the man too. What kind of accent does he have? Is he a smoker?

I get that some things must be kept secret for purposes of the investigation, but if all they are going to release is a sketch that looks like an outline, and description of the man being in his 40's with dark hair and skin, then why did they release it at all? I cannot see how the public will find this man without a little more evidence, and we know that they must have some extra evidence. Their method makes no sense to me.

IMO, the lack of certain details not being released by LE does not necessarily imply incompetence on their part (the FBI has been involved since the beginning). I am reminded of Jessica Ridgeway's case, in which LE very deliberately and calculatedly released only very specific information (for example, "the cross" <ugh>. It is obvious to me that they are possibly:

1. not tipping their hand
2. still actively investigating and gathering information
3. protecting Abby

Question, re: the daily mail article, which store was Abby supposedly wanting to go to? (post 318) Sorry if i missed or forgot this, tia.

Sorry for the multiple posts (want to say before I forget)--
In the article mentioning the June incident with the blue truck, iirc correctly out of state plates were mentioned as a possibility. And, as stated upstream, (forgot the poster, sorry), it is evident by watching "To Catch a Predator" that pervs will drive several miles to meet an under aged girl.

But then I wonder alternately, is this person someone physically close (local) who saw Abby, say while she was participating in track, etc?

Might be worthwhile to go back at look at a couple of things:

1: attempted abductions out of state (bordering states, maybe even Canada---seems there's always some stuff going on in Ontario)
2: ads on backpage and craigslist during the months of September and October 2013.

So even though the article from the BF's father is unfortunate, I thought perhaps we should have a list of what new information has come about because of it:

Article from the Daily Mail:

'He blamed himself for six months because he had seen her walking down the street the day she went missing and he was the last person to have contact with her

We speculated that the <3 (smiley face?) text was Abby's last contact. Did we know that the BF had seen her walking?

apparently she wanted to go to the store that day so she walked

I don't believe that we've heard that she wanted to go to the store before. I wonder which store...the outlets? Walmart?

they wanted me to do a lie detector test. I walked straight down to the state police barracks and told them to strap it on me right away. Of course I passed

Have we previously heard about anyone being given a lie detector test in AH's case?

This article named RH's place of business and alluded to his holdings. I don't believe we've heard anything about this before either. (Daily Mail did not list a source for this info).

I'm sure I've missed somethings, but these are the things standing out for me right now. It would be interesting to look at these new items of information.

This article marks the first time I have heard this, I don't think we ever knew why she walked home.

Thank you Catfancier.

LE then would have attempted to get footage from possible stores. (The problem would be how long footage is retained, and if cameras were available or operational).

I'm hoping the bf mentioned this store aspect to LE in the beginning; I would imagine he did.

We need to compile a list/map of stores within walking distance.

I didn't follow this at all, and I just saw an article on a news site... Why can't this girl say where she was for the 9 months?

  • #334
Also re: the daily mail article, "Sources close to the investigation..." I am reminded of Jay Leno a long time ago, or maybe it was Letterman, joking about tabloids, how they always say "sources"...(like who are these "sources" anyway, lol)

I'm not certain that she hasn't. It is possible that LE is trying to thoroughly prove their case. I'm also not sure that it's accurate that LE has only talked to AH for "3 hours" as per the article. There is a very good chance that there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about and are not privy to.

This case has been odd from the get go, a lot of "not quite useful" information given to the public and a whole lot of silence from LE. There are a dozen threads here trying to figure it out. It gets even more strange that AH comes home in the same clothes she left with. I can't cite a case where that has happened before.

If they wanted to, LE could put some very real pressure on AH, minor or not, the fact that they have not (as far as we know) speaks volumes to me.

Anything of interest (RSOs?) on the route in between Haverhill (Maura Murray) and North Conway?

  • #340
You guys remember how guarded/private Elizabeth Smart was on Nancy Grace, in response to NG's pressure/questions?
