I remember a few years ago a woman named Noelle (I think) was murdered. I believe she had 7 kids. Her ex husband posted here on WS and was later charged with her murder.

This was a good article. Reassuring hearing from FBI's Kieran Ramsey.
“The victim in this case is a 15-year-old girl. It’s not as cut and dried as people think that somebody can exactly recount what happened, when, and where.”
Authorities have stopped short of calling the man a suspect, though Ramsey said that investigators do have a “description of his involvement.”

James Campbell stated "she wanted to go to the store"...

looks like the outlet mall was "the store".

Between 2:40 and 3:30 p.m., authorities said they have received multiple unconfirmed reports of someone matching Abigail's description walking on North-South Highway between the rotary and the entrance to Settlers' Green outlets.

If the story is true that she was dropped off in her original clothes and walked home, what a testament to her willpower to have that homing instinct. Can you imagine her knocking on the door and her mother answering it? The reaction? Wow. Now, if her health is as described, (lost weight, working back up to solid foods) it makes her just getting home even more remarkable. She truly sounds every bit as strong as people kept saying.
I do believe her health being described as it was, and also called "good" by LE are not opposites, but as has been suggested, relative terms. I wondered why there were not pictures of her released, and perhaps ill health or sickly appearance are the reason????
I wonder though if her health is bad, perhaps that is why she was returned or allowed to go free? Perhaps she needed/needs medical care the perps could not provide. Rather than allow her to deteriorate further and be the cause of a possible death, they let her go?

I've worked in health care for 30+ years. I've never heard anyone categorize an individual who was as too weak to eat solid food as being in good health/ good condition. ("She is working to build her strength back and we hope soon she will be back on solid foods.” )

IMO, there is a large discrepancy between LE's assessment of Abigail's health and the family's statement.

There is also a Walgreens pharmacy in this complex.

Ah...a name in that thread of comments that many here have had encounters with :hiding:

On another note, is there a side by side of A before and after all of this?

I'm thinking there may be and I just missed it. Before I go trying to hunt it down, I thought I'd ask so I know whether to even bother if no one else recalls seeing one either.

Has A.H been seen by a doctor?

I don't think there are any photos of her since she came home.

It's almost like an intervention to me. But not for drugs or alcohol. She was picked up taken someplace and cared for for 9 months. She was then given back her original belongings and returned home.
I think there is alot more to this story.
Jmo

ITA. When you are released from the hospital they give you your clothes back. If she was in a commune maybe she wore some type of dress.

This whole story is just so strange. We need a better description on this guy, like hair color, what he drinks, tatoos, what he smokes, if he has a scar, if he wears jewelry, what was in his car could be a clue. Something. They need to get this guy, imo. He might have even helped her get away.

Has A.H been seen by a doctor?

It's not been specifically stated, but I would assume that if the AG office tells media repeatedly in the first days she's been found that she's not only in "good condition" but looks as though one or more people have been taking care of her---that that is not an assessment based on Jane Young just taking a look at her. Doesn't necessarily mean she's had an invasive exam, but implies that she's been given at least a cursory health exam by someone qualified to offer that initial assessment. IMO.

(Personally, I can't imagine not having a doc do at least the most general exam upon the return of my missing 14-yr old daughter if this were my daughter. If LE are treating this as a criminal investigation, I can't imagine them not advising this as well.)

IF anyone thinks there might be some connection to the fair/activity in the area at the time AH went missing- , I did find info on the largest Midway provider there at Fryeburg Fair....that fair is the last one on their particular schedule every year
http://www.smokeysgreatershows.com/schedule/

there is also independent midway vendors
http://www.fryeburgfair.org/Portals/0/documents/INDEPENDENT_MIDWAY_APPL_PROC_2013-1.pdf

the fair was Sept 29-Oct 6, 2013

regarding workers at fair-
Changing the subject, Roy Andrews asked Gilmore, "How many people would you say it
takes to run your carnival at Fryeburg."
"Well, never enough! The way labor is these last few years,
no matter where we go, we
don't have enough. It has been a crisis situation
for carnivals and a lot of businesses. With 50
rides it would take at least 100 to 110 people to run and oversee them, supervisors and
electricians. And of course the concessions;
I myself own only about 20 concessions, mostly
food; will take another 60 people at least. Then the other concessions are booked in and they
bring or hire their own help. On our midway alone I would guess we need about 400 or more to
operate just our part of it."
snipped from http://www.fryeburgfair.org/Portals/0/documents/Smokey_s_History.pdf

something about the thought of this event having been so close to N Conway is odd to me...maybe someone else here is curious also

does anyone happen to know the closest to N. Conway, any type of fair, etc going on the weekend AH came home?

I agree also, unless a woman is involved too. Obviously, whoever had her thought about releasing her down the road and use her same clothes. Because why wouldn't you throw out her clothes because it was in all the newspapers what she was wearing when she disappeared. Plus, if the perp gave her new clothes there is always the chance of their DNA on them.

So the iPhone was turned off or destroyed the day she went missing? But the clothes were kept for future return? :gaah:

Young said authorities are still looking for Abby Hernandez's iPhone and necklace.

SNIPPED BY ME

Yes, I agree with this. My post was meant to be a response to another post, and some how I didn't get it quoted.

And it could be that since returning, her nerves are at an all time high, making it difficult to eat solid foods as well. You've got investigators asking you questions, needing answers, needing a sketch, etc., and no doubt worried how your friends, and family are going to respond when you come home, etc., all that would affect even the strongest person! No doubt each person directly affected by this case has thought over and over again of what they would do when they are reunited, and praying that moment comes soon. And then it comes! But no matter how many thoughts you had before, they could all go out the window! It must be an emotional toll on everyone. Relief and beyond the happiest ever, and fear it could happen again. Some fears relieved just by being able to see and hug your child after 9 months!! New fears that you might not have ever thought of. It would affect everyone, in my view point.

And yes, I'm sure even the closest family and friends would want answers. "oh my gosh, darling! Where have you been? Are you OK?", etc.... Many questions out of concern.
My thoughts too! The discrepancy in the articles could simply be semantics. Example: Your child is ill, you take her to the doc, doc and staff see the symptoms all the time and are not alarmed. You leave with instructions and possibly an Rx. Take her home and care for her. To you, her parent, it kills you to see your child sick and distressed. To you it is a call for concern. I guess what I'm saying is... what a doctor sees and thinks is entirely different from you, her parent. Thus the discrepancy.

Which is why I am under the impression that we (the public) have been sent on a fool's errand.

Wonder why the reporters in the boston article didn't question the difference in Abby's health?? I pray she's exactly like Jane Young said. If she wasn't, seems Jane would have stated she's receiving medical care and blah blah blah... but she didn't. And as I've been reminded by several posters, Jane chooses her words wisely, and for reasoning. Why would she say she was in good health, and someone obviously had been helping her survived for the past 9 months if she came home weak, unable to eat solid foods, and needed to rest to build up her strength?

One of the articles posted today also quoted some of the top LE investigators in this case, and that they weren't releasing a statement to alarm residents because they had nothing to lead them to believe that. So obviously they don't believe this 'sketch dude' abducted Abby. He may have drove the vehicle, but from the little that has been released it does not state she was taken against her will. And I'm OK with that!!! I would MUCH rather believe she left on her own, found out 'grown up life' wasn't all she thought she was prepared for, and came back home.

I wonder if Reuben will now try to custody? Wasn't that in one of his letters? That is Abby wants, she can come live with him? And Zenya has stated if Abby came home, all this would go away, and they would move away and start anew. I look for that to happen, maybe even with a name change. What the course they choose, as long as ABBY'S health and well fare are the driving force, then more power to them. I don't know what I would do in such instance, I honestly don't. But then again, I have extended family from both sides in the area, and could gain strength from them.

Reuben has hinted that there were problems at home, and perhaps the reason Abby left. From his letters to Abby, it's clear he felt she had left on her own, but had left for a reason of which he never stated whether he knew, or was just thinking might be possible. I don't know him or Zenya, or anyone else in this case. I'm not sleuthing either, and leaving that to social services, child advocates, child psychologists, or someone along that line to help Abby decide what's best for HER!

As far a someone being a nurse. I'm also a nurse. I know many nurse friends. While most of us are comfortable treating simple things at home, we also know when to seek professional advice. Not all nurses do, mind you. A nurse that finishes last in the class, or on state exams is still a nurse. In my instance, I could care for very sick individuals, even dying ones that had made the choice to remove tube feedings, etc., but when my own child was sick, my knowledge was there, but I wanted them with the top doctors, in the best hospitals in the area, and I asked many questions, etc. No way would I personally feel comfortable with this situation without professionals guiding me. Nope. Wouldn't know where to begin on what the right or wrong thing to say, ask, etc even though it was my child.

I would want a complete exam at a hospital with the top forensic nurses I know, and the top doctors I know. I would want to know that emotionally and physically her health had been examined and ANY issues addressed with a treatment plan. But hey, that's just me....not all are the same. I'll treat an animal at home, and I'm VERY close to all my animals, but I know when I need to reach out for help.

I pray there are professionals guiding Abby, and her FAMILY, not just Mom and Sis, but Dad also, in dealing with this situation. Whatever past skeletons there may be, I pray they are ALL able to leave them behind, and focus on Abby. Focus on finding out the TRUTH, but with the guidance of professionals in mental health as to how to approach.

*Had said I was going to sit on my hands, but that last article is in such stark contrast to what the leading law officials are saying, that I just can't... I don't understand, may never understand, and may just have to move along....*

ALL IN MY OWN OPINION BASED ON MY OWN LIFE EXPERIENCES!

BBM: This!!! This!!! This!! YES! MOO

I wonder if LE was startled to hear Mom's description of A's health.

RE: Miss D &2Hope- Mom is a nurse and a MOM first. My bet is that Abby has seen a doctor. Perhaps a couple of doctors. I can't imagine that Z as a nurse and a mom (and LE etc...) wouldn't have done that pronto. It's so common sense that I implied it when I first saw she was safe.
