Agreed, but the USA gets so freaked out about anything sex-related, even between consenting adults.
Also this is in New England (home of the puritans). No I'm not being funny. I think some of that mentality lingers. I'm from the west coast where things are much more overtly open. Moo.
http://fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121018/GJNEWS_01/121019056Fish said Mazzaglia never physically abused her during their relationship, but he was “severely sexually abusive” and “refused to accept 'No' as an answer.”
“He would throw a tantrum if I refused to have sex with him, to the point where like, throwing stuff,” she remembered. “It was very clear that 'No' wasn't an option, so it was coercion always in that regard.”
Fish said she believes Mazzaglia's interest in asphyxiation continued when they moved in together, but her recollection has grown hazy due to stress from the relationship.
However, there is one conversation Fish claims to remember clearly: Fish said Mazzaglia once told her to avoid wearing necklaces around him because “the urge to choke me was very strong.”
Fish said she was enrolled at McIntosh College, the former business college in Dover, at the time, and moved into the school's dorms when she finally decided to break off her relationship with Mazzaglia in May 2003. Fish said she didn't take action against him, such as filing for a restraining order, because she didn't perceive his actions as a form of abuse.
“I didn't think that what he was doing was wrong,” she said. “I knew I didn't like it, but because he didn't hit me, I didn't associate that with domestic violence.”
Since then, Fish said she has contacted UNH's Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention service several times to discuss the situation, and has also relayed her experience with Mazzaglia at “Take Back the Night,” an annual event held on the UNH campus to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
A friend in New Hampshire contacted Fish to inform her about Mazzaglia's arrest, she said. Since then, Fish said she's been in contact with local police to relay the details of her relationship.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports that Seth Mazzaglia's ex-girlfriend says he had a choking obsession.
I am guessing/speculating that the "sexual" nature of the investigation is into HIS background and his online proclivities.
This guy obviously has a serious problem.
:moo:
So he studied and passed his EMT exams but never got a job in the field?
Why go back to Best Buy probably making around minimum wage when you could be an EMT?
Are EMT jobs in this area in short supply?
I am wondering if he had this training to be able to "bring back" one of his sex partners after choking them...

much, much more at the link
I surely can't argue that one Chicago.
So I'm thinking that SM could have put Lizzie's body into the water off Pierce Island. The waters in that area a somewhat rough and her body may have been swept out to sea, which is why they've yet to find her. :moo: I'm not sure they ever will.
He's the boyfriend of the girl Elizabeth was visiting.
It is obvious that LE has gotten info from he or some one to begin a massive search such as this.
I may have missed something..But back around post 166 info began to surface re Pierce Island--from some where??
Who is the "reliable' person who pointed LE there.
She could be anywhere unless there is some evidence she entered the water. Who is the credible witness who pointed everyone to the island and the water???
Taller tales have been told...
JMO:banghead:
I have a few questions about this article...First this would have been around the time that I met Seth and I don't remember a girlfriend.
Second if some dude grabbed my throat during sex I highly doubt that I would stay with him let alone move to NH and live with him.
Just seems odd that he never came onto any of the people I know in the Arts. Some of them are just as strange as he is...
~sigh~ Thank goodness I never knew about this side of him
~sigh~ Thank goodness I never knew about this side of him
Are you sure she was the girlfriend of Seth? How do you know? Do you think Liz was lured to the apartment?
It must be very hard for you to read all these things now. Even if not all is true. I'm sorry you lost a friend (I mean him), or at least the trust in him.
@McSpy
Yes, I'm sure. It has been mentioned here and in articles several times.
I don't have reason to believe she was lured there. But could be, of course.
Where is the gf now? Is she also in custody, POI, questioned by police? Is she in hiding somewhere? There's nothing about her anywhere now, or did I simply not find it?
