NH NH - Elizabeth Marriott, 19, Durham, 9 Oct 2012 - #10 *S. Mazzaglia guilty*

I've started following the Steven Zelich thread. Pretty interesting and a lot of similarities with Lizzi's case.

I haven't followed the OP trial at all. The only familiarity I have with it is what I see on HLN.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks! I just popped over there to take a look and , wow, so similar. Seems to be a trend? So many bdsm cases ending in death...

Mazzaglia in court next week on escape attempt charge

Mazzaglia, 31, will be before the court on July 9 relating to a charge against him that was not heard during the course of his monthlong trial. That charge is for criminal solicitation to acquire implements for escape and other contraband which relate to Mazzaglia's attempts to break out of Strafford County House of Corrections.

I guess I don't remember anything about this charge, however I do remember the jailhouse snitch (Ryan Bachman) story of helping to break SM out of jail.

Maybe because his defense team didn't want the jury to hear more craziness than necessary and the judge agreed that it would be prejudicial? Just a guess.

ETA: The charges he faces in connection with his escape plan carry a sentence of no more than 30 years in prison. Perhaps the prosecutor was holding on to the escape case he was found not guilty or guilty of second-degree murder to make sure he did a significant amount of time?

Wasn't this covered with that jail guy? He was going to sell buy/sell drugs for car, guns and explosives? Wasn't it covered in that letter?

Juror describes stress from Mazzaglia trial: Says credibility of 'Kat' McDonough was crux to guilty findings.
DOVER — Derek Hubley of Dover said there were many sleepless nights as he sat as a juror on the Seth Mazzaglia murder trial.

“It was a long trial and it was, overall, a very stressful experience. On the first day you realize that you have someone's future in your hands,” Hubley, of Toftree Lane, said.

Hubley was one of the 12 jurors who on Friday convicted Mazzaglia, 31, of Dover, of two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit tampering with witnesses and informants, and conspiracy to commit falsifying physical evidence for his involvement in the Oct. 9, 2012 slaying of 19-year-old Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott..........(more. see link)

Thanks for posting the article, Chelly.
Very interesting to hear the jurors thoughts on Kat's testimony.

Too bad Seth! I bet Lizzie didn't want to show up for her murder!
So, stop being a pu$$y and take responsibility.

What a coward. He should be made to listen to the families impact statements.
