I still maintain that they didn't dispose of Lizzi where they said they did. I believe they left a few pieces of evidence there, but I'm sure they didn't want her body found and I'm sure they put it somewhere else. That area at night is full of people, it's a place where young adults go to drink and smoke pot and when they claim they went there people would have seen something.

Thanks so much for your insight on Kat, Mom24. It's not often we have the benefit of learning these kinds of details about a defendant in the cases we follow here on Websleuths.

It is interesting that you don't think Lizzi is buried where they claim. Given concerns expressed by many, including myself, that Kat was very actively involved in Lizzi's murder, discovering that she lied about Lizzi's location would definitely be enough to void her plea agreement. JMO, IMO

If it's true that she isn't buried there, I pray Seth double-crosses Kat and tells where Lizzi really is. It would give Lizzi's family peace, and make it more likely that Kat would receive a more appropriate sentence for her true level of involvement in Lizzi's murder. JMO, IMO

As Barth pointed out, that did seem to be the only time in the video that she was behaving as she has been on the stand (lying her booty off), when she was talking about where they took Lizzie. I also didn't think it was only because she said Roberta and Paul were with them then, the whole story at the end was just like her testimony - not ringing true.

I hope he does too. I worry that neither of them will ever tell where her body really is because there's evidence that points to them both killing her. When I heard that they were saying Lizzi had been thrown from that lookout spot into the water I didn't believe it. That area is very active at night and there is no way that someone could drag a body for that distance without someone noticing. I used to hang out there myself in high school and it was always busy. It's where college kids buy pot, it's where you can drink beer and hang out with friends. Pierce Island is more active at night than it is during the day.
I believe there's a bit of truth in all the stories, but I don't believe Lizzi was disposed of where they said. It doesn't make any sense to take the risk to dispose a body there. The current is also fast there and there is no way to drag a body on those slippery seaweed covered rocks without slipping into the fast moving current and getting dragged out. Gruesome as it sounds, I believe they deposited some of Lizzi's hair and a few beads there to make it look like she had been dumped there. I believe Lizzi was disposed of somewhere between Dover and Portsmouth. I think that's why they travelled the back way to Portsmouth, to avoid tolls and to dispose of Lizzi's body.
If Lizzi had been lifted up over the top of that fence and dropped over there would have been evidence, that fence is rough and I'm not convinced either of them would have had the strength to lift her over the rail.
The way Kat is answering questions reminds me of a few times when she got into trouble and tried to lie her way out. She will embellish and do the doe-eyed, wide eyed "I don't know what you mean" thing. When she does that I can see the 9 year old girl caught with her hand in the cookie jar. It's hard to watch and makes me so frustrated, for both Lizzi's family and for Kat's family. I just don't understand it. Her family are salt of the earth kind of people. Really nice family, involved in the community, great parents, just good people and Kat isn't a monster. It's like watching someone who looks like Kat but isn't Kat.

I have to agree with you on this. I stated early in the case that this area was a well known drug/sex area after dark and is patrolled often. I find it hard to believe that they were able to drive/park/struggle with the body for that amount of time without being noticed.

I have always thought that she was either placed at Hilton Park (quick and easy to dispose of a body) and if they went in the back way it would have been easy to not be noticed. Her comment about her mother telling her that Pierce Island had the fastest current in the world stood out to me because I have always been told that it was the river down by Hilton Park. In fact I took a boat tour of the river last June and the Captain said the same exact thing.

Had to run to do some things and I'm getting caught up with the trial again. In watching the video my children and I both feel that who you see on the video is the real Kat. The person on the stand is not the person we know, the mannerisms, the whiney scared little girl voice is not Kat. The person in the video is the way Kat acts and talks. Watching the video of Kat at the atty's office makes me so very very sad.
In no way does this mean I believe Seth isn't equally responsible. While to some he may have seemed quiet and harmless I do know my child told me before this all happened that he gave people the creeps, he would make rape jokes and odd sexually explicit jokes with the teens and it made people uncomfortable. The kids thought it was just social awkwardness kind of like he was stuck at being a 13 year old boy, but I had told my kids to keep away from him. They didn't know him well, only met him a few times, but he was awkward and immature. I don't believe Kat would have had the strength to kill Lizzi on her own, so I'm sure Seth killed her but I believe Kat's role was far more than simply whimpering in the corner with her knees drawn up to her chest.

Weird that he acted that way towards these youths because I got the exact opposite opinion of him, as did my friend. He was always very shy around people especially woman. One of the reasons my friend doesn't think he could've done this is because he was very uncomfortable showing affection even if it was acting.

One other thing about him is that he was always very polite and I never heard him swear or raise his voice. He came across to me as an introvert that only came alive when he was acting. Not sure when this all changed because it was less than a year before this that I spent some time with him. I was never uncomfortable around him.

Maybe he wasn't the only one who had a few different people living inside his head.

Good Morning! I'm very grateful to you and Mom24 for adding inside details to this conversation. It is very compelling to have your thoughts.

Is it possible that Seth's discomfort with showing affection lies in dealing with contemporaries, (people his own age and experience level?) Perhaps he feels more confident around younger people, (like Kat,) who he thinks he can control or "teach." Also, he seemed to have controlled his home environment with many rules, (not including cleaning up.) Perhaps he is much less sure of himself in a space where the rules are not his to make.

Interesting post from someone who knew Seth personally. Some of the things you say to support your feeling that he could not have done it actually support for me the fact that he did. For example "not showing affection "....I'm sure that is true but we are not talking about "affection" here and that very trait could lead to some very sick behaviours precisely because he does not know how to express himself. You call him an introvert...many seasoned killers are introverts...again have not developed normal social interaction skills. "Quiet and polite"...how often have we heard these traits about a killer? I think his profile is very consistent with what he did here and of course Kat is equally responsible.

Good Morning!

I didn't get to see all of the video yesterday. I am not sure if I can do that and watch the trial live, and do other daily things. I have no idea how most of you do it!

But what a difference in Kat. Even though I live in NH, I didn't really follow this case after they found out what happen to Lizzie. I was probably glued to another case, I feel like I can only follow one at a time. Anyways I miss the state talking to Kat. But followed the defense and at first I was thinking oh Kat is the sidekick, but wow Barth has done a great job at changing my mine. Even though he has annoyed me throughout. I soooo wonder what the Jury is thinking!

Kats voice is really annoying. She sure talks like an 8 year old like a previous poster mention. Almost reminds me of JA, right is that who I am thinking of?

Good Morning Everyone! :seeya:

Just wanted to say thank you for the insight into Seth and Kat's lives and the info from inside the courtroom. Very interesting!
So does anyone else think that Barth better wrap things up with Kat soon before the jury starts to resent him? I know he is just doing his job and I like him but I was wondering if the jury is maybe starting to get irritated with how long it is taking with Kat...

yup! I'm over Kat. Don't think that the State can rehab her testimony after all these days of Barth hammering her. I wouldn't believe anything she has to say--or opinion. Barth has made that immunity sweetheart deal up front and center. Again I hope that her testimony doesn't allow Seth to walk--I just don't know at this point. The defense seems so much stronger (Barth--not the female atty) than the State. JMO :moo:
