Kat points out that he was supportive before they moved in together, and after he went to jail, but not while they lived together. Barth points out her high school grades went up while they lived together... she says it was because she was taking easier classes at that point.

I understand that concept of not being responsible for 30 year old son but in light of the reasoning that was brought forth and his statements of wanting Kat to have whatever funds there are...just rubs me the wrong way...at least make him pay something...whatever he can.

Unfortunately SM gave all of his money to a prison roommate who spent it on drugs instead of investing in the elaborate escape scheme. How could that happen?!
