This Doctor is making so much sense....

So glad you're here. This trial is a real head spinner.... What's your take on this?

I think Seth is guilty and that he needs to be locked up for life. I think Kat got off easy and that she actually helped with the murder (using the rope to strangle when she was still alive and tying bags around her head). But the state had to give her immunity or they could not get her GJ testimony and probably couldnt get an indictment on Seth. I think it was a necessary trade off, as Seth is the primary perpetrator and its really important to get him locked up and off the street so that he cannot continue to kill and rape.

wow.... flashbacks from my second marriage.

Oh, I got the sense that you think that Kat was active in the murder as opposed to just sitting/standing there allowing it to happen.

I think she did Seths bidding by using the rope around LMs neck when she was still breathing and tying bags around her head.

Nnnnnnoooooooo. I meant YOU for providing the C.W video (yet again)

OK :)
But Minor brings the legal expertise...
I am just the :jester:, especially when I start to get distracted, like now.

Talks about setting the hook... usually occurs around the apology phase of an issue... you know abuser might say something like... there’s a way you could help me out, you know you did say you’d pick this up from the store… the kind of day I had, set me over the edge… what I’ve done I’ve hooked her into my abuse, not blaming her, her guard goes down… I’ve done my part, the least I can do… so now every time I do something abusive she remembers there’s this connection, and really powerful when the hook is something indisputable...now every tie I get upset she is going to wonder..

According to Hampton ... They find a lot of abusers in positions of power... policemen, prosecutors, priests... priests aren't abusers, but sex abusers can become priests to hid there...

According to Dr. Hampton: What's the difference between an abuser and a gentleman on a first date? He says there is not difference. Than says... the better answer, an abuser is a little bit nicer..he has to its strategic… calculated. Because he has to develop a relationship.

Oh, I definitely agree with that. Her punishment should have been much more severe. But I still think Seth was a very abusive person (in many ways) and that Kat was an abuse victim and was vulnerable to a person such as Seth.

I saw the mug shot of kat. I saw photos of kat with the little smile on her face. She thinks she is an actress and an artist. She is self assured.

IMO kat wanted out of her parent's home and seth filled the bill. Yes seth was much older than kat but I don't see kat as a victim. IMO she was a willing accomplice until something better came into her life. I think you have to have the seed of evil to receive a text about painting and knowing something bad was going to happen do nothing, say nothing to stop it instead express nervousness about it. And I question if it wasn't nerves from a rising sense of excitement.

Great post with the picture. It is exactly how she described, however, I think it makes more sense for this to have happened more with her version to Barth than the GJ. Her sitting on Lizzie, at the same time being choked with the ropes and it eventually caused brain damage. A fast attack of strangulation would not seem to cause this posturing IMO. I have seen this happen several times as a Medic

Which makes me wonder if both stories she gave had tiny slivers of truth.

What if Lizzie did have a seizure from Kate being on her, and when she would not wake up or seem to come out of it, Seth finished her off with a rope causing this position? This could also explain why there was no fighting and just a small yelp.

ITA on all points. Thanks!

I also wonder if Seth didnt initially cause more traumatic injury like breaking her neck or something

God only knows what other horrific things they did to her....

The deal with km was an evil necessity, but worth it to see him hang.

LM's father posted the following on Facebook on July, 26, 2013, just after KM's sentencing: "I am still heartbroken but we have taken one more step down the path. Is it fair – not even close, am I satisfied – nothing could. I do, however, accept that compromises have to be made in our best, but imperfect system. I am so thankful to the family and friends who continue to support us."

If her family thought it was a necessary evil, that's good enough for me.

So the doc is saying that there are some people who think walking a straight line is the same as balancing on that same straight line 500 feet up in the air?

Doctor have you spoken to the defendant? Or are you explaining kat's multiple stories? seth is on trial here isn't he? Or is this called rehabilitating a witness?

I've asked a few times---what is this trial about?

Yep, and its important to remember how the immunity came about. It was during the Grand Jury investigation, and Kat invoked her 5th amendment right not to testify and incriminate herself. The prosecution already knows Seth killed Lizzi because he confessed, although he claimed it was an accident. But but they need Kats testimony for corroboration. They can only compel her to testify by granting her immunity and getting a court order compelling her to testify. At that point the prosecutors did not know the level of Kats involvement; they only knew that Seth killed Lizzi and that Kat helped cover it up.

Exactly doc. As Juan might say, if it ain't a lie, ya don't have to remember.

Even kat admitted she was surprised at the State offering the three years. Both she and her attorney thought she would be facing much more time. That is the part that sticks in my caw.
