so clearly this Dr. has not had any contact with anyone involved in this trial so guess he is just getting paid to tell his stories...and try to make Kat look sympathetic and Seth look worse. Now he is on to yet another boring story.

I find him interesting and well spoken.
But, I think that's because I have been in an abusive relationship.
What he is saying makes a lot of sense.

i enjoy how barth listens to his stories that goes on and on and then summarizes it with say two words. This guy did NOTHING for the state's case. for some reason he reminds me of Steve Martin doing the "wild and crazy guy" routine. I think Barth is laughing inside.

Apparently this good Doctor has never prepared a steak in his life... 'chopping up a steak...'

IMO abusing a steak!!!

Barth gives a hypothetical question, that happens to match part of the defense's case about the age difference between Kat and Seth... Seth being nice to Kat as an example that he WASN'T controlling... Barth: I’m aware that you’re a lot younger than I am and you have other interests, other paths to take and I don’t want to affect that… do you think that mitigates the age difference? DR: It could be part of the grooming process… doesn’t mitigate because, if that person has the power they can say- I’ve changed my mind - if they still have the power they’re communicating doesn’t change that.

Barth, NOOOOOOOOO more questions, PLEEEEZE

  • #427
I so wish Barth would make them answer "yes" or "no"

I can uinderstand your POV. I on the other hand like the DV expert but I don't think you're alone in your thoughts. I just like him because I was abused therefore I can relate to what he is saying. I'm thinking the jury probably shares your POV.

The information he is giving is very insightful and would be helpful to me were I on the jury.

Expert used the term 'sorry' rather than 'excuse me'. IMO that is British. I spent a few years in Lagos, Nigeria and went to British school and picked up that term among other things.

He went on to change it up with a 'pardon'.

I am trying to stay interested.... where is Sudoku?

Dr. Hampton says even he, as a clinical psychologist, has to be careful not to pass judgments of victims...to remember how very difficult it is for a victim to take a stand against their abuser or even FOR them everything is confusing like a food processor.. you’ve got to wait for it to stop.

His current hair is a by product of a sociopath in the area?

Danger Will Robinson, Danger...

Doc: 'Let's say it took Aunt Mable two years to die....'

How cold is that????

  • #433
Well that was a whole lot of nothing. :sigh:

I'm glad he is done. :)

Barth has been asking the Dr. about sociopaths... about whether they change their stories depending on the audience. The Dr. says most people know when they're talking to a sociopath because the hair goes up on the back of their neck. But he says you can't judge someone by how they react to things, and judge them a sociopath... i.e. Kat talking about startling subject matter... because there's a wide range of how people react to things.

State's Atty Geoffrey Ward showing the jury the photos he took of Lizzi's car.. its night in the picture... another photo shows the license plate. He checked the area around the area and in the vehicle without entering it.. and had it towed to the police secure facility in Dover. He told the tow driver to wear gloves and touch the vehicle as little as possible.
