For such a short time on the stand, we learned a lot from SM's friend, Robert. To recap:
1) As a preteen, SM was sent to special nerd camp.
2) Robert and SM were both really, really, really into role-playing and massively multiplayer online games.
3) Robert did not know of any of the personas, such as Darkhart, Doomsday, Cyrus, etc. that SM routinely used. He did know SM's gaming identities, which were different.
4) SM told people, or at least Robert, that he had a girlfriend in college named Natasha who died in his arms. Robert thinks he is "exaggerating" (i.e., lying). That, or it's very dangerous to be a woman around SM.
5) Robert was at the apartment when KM's family came over and tried to get her to come home. SM was belligerent during that encounter and voices were raised.
6) Robert didn't know Kat very well, but stuck around while SM and KM had sex behind him on the bed.
7) Some additional yucky details about KM and SM that I wish I could unhear.
8) There were "considerably more ropes" around the apartment once KM moved in
9) SM did not seem to have many friends, or at least his friend since middle school hadn't met any or many.
10) While in jail, SM wrote letters to Robert.
11) SM indicated that he was studying abnormal psychology and would become a "master of the human psych (sic)!"
12) SM indicated to Robert that he was studying advanced interrogation techniques
13) SM indicated he was watching, "I Almost Got Away With It"
14) SM was considering an insanity defense.
Seems like there was an interesting revelation every 1-2 minutes during his testimony, most of it unfavorable to the defense.

I saw most of today but not all and my take was the defense has a very weak case and unless there are some bombshell witnesses coming up tomorrow...Seth is done. This last expert was awful and I would imagine Barth had some real problems getting anyone. Sometimes I think putting up no one is better than something like this. The trail is dragging at this point and hopefully will be over tomorrow and jury gets the case. Barth had his day in the sun with a few witnesses including Kat but at the end of the case where he really needs to make an impact he has failed. His "version" cannot hold up.
It is quite possible as some of us know too well. We had another case about a year ago the Levi Chavez case. When the trial was over the defense attorneys wife signed up on WS, seems she was monitoring our comments. That was part of her job in the office of her husband. No kidding!
