Noting, because I don't remember this...

[...]

For a few months, Harmony lived in a little yellow house on Gilford Street. The D's, her neighbors at the time, remember her and her father.

"I did see the little girl on a Halloween," said ID. "He came down the street with two boys and a little girl."

Neighbors were worried about the generator running in the driveway and the state of the house, along with strangers coming and going.

Police were called to the house 10 times in less than a year, but ID said she remembers Adam Montgomery as caring.

"He seemed to me to be loving, especially to the little boy," she said.

I still don't understand how he could punch her in the head like that when she already had eye issues. So cruel. Poor Harmony.

Why second degree?
When is his arraignment?

JAN 26, 2023
  • The father of once missing Harmony Montgomery was indicted by a grand jury on January 20th on a charge of second-degree murder, according to new court documents.
  • The grand jury indictment, which was handed down last Friday, accuses Adam Montgomery of recklessly causing Harmony’s death by repeatedly striking her in the head with a closed fist.
  • Additional details on what led to Adam’s arrest are expected to be revealed during his arraignment.

Such a sad case. I hope he receives some justice in prison. There needs to be some elevated charges in cases like this.

Father of 5-year-old Harmony Montgomery indicted on second-degree murder, other charges | CNN

Adam Montgomery destroyed, concealed or hid Harmony’s body between December 7, 2019, and March 4, 2020, preventing authorities from conducting a proper investigation, state Attorney General John Formella said last year.

Formella said Adam purposely attempted to “induce or otherwise cause” Harmony’s stepmother, Kayla Montgomery, to falsely testify in the investigation into Harmony’s disappearance between December 7, 2019, and January 4, 2022.

Montgomery’s murder trial is set for August 2023 and is expected to last about a month, according to court documents.

A conviction of second-degree murder is punishable by a maximum of life in prison and a $4,000 fine, according to documents

27 January 2023

"The father of five-year-old Harmony Montgomery has been indicted on second-degree murder charges as the child's body has yet to be found after being last seen alive in 2019.

Adam Montgomery, 33, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was indicted on Friday after he waived his right to an arraignment in October on charges of second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, falsifying evidence, and witness tampering.

He has been accused of killing his daughter Harmony by repeatedly striking her in the head with a closed fist in early-December 2019.

Her body has not been found since her disappearance three years ago. The five-year-old was allegedly last seen alive by her mother Crystal Sorey in 2019. Police became involved in September 2021 after Harmony was reported missing. In August 2022, investigators said she was murdered in December 2019, citing new 'biological' evidence of her death.

The career criminal, who has a rap sheet dating back to 2007, was arrested in connection to his daughter's disappearance in January 2022."

I was just thinking today that Adam has got to be the most hated man in county lockup.

I recall he was being housed in solitary but don't think he'll be so lucky in DOC.

I can imagine the talk -- he killed the little girl wearing pink eyeglasses. Made her scrub the toilet with her toothbrush.

Just checking Harmony’s thread for any updates, and noticed the *1 Guilty* in the thread title. It may just be me, but I’m feeling confused by the meaning of the title. (?)

AFAIK, AM has been indicted for her murder, but hasn’t been tried nor has he pleaded guilty. KM has never been charged in the murder of Harmony. I’m trying to understand who/what the 1 Guilty refers to.

Yes, and perhaps it should read 1 of 2 guilty or something along those lines. You can hit report on your post to suggest an edit. ? MOO

IMO, ‘1 of 2 guilty’ and ‘1 guilty’ both imply that someone has been convicted, right? I don’t mean to be obtuse, but would you mind sharing with me who has been found guilty in HM’s disappearance.
I wholeheartedly agree that AM is guilty as sin, and that he’ll be found guilty when the case goes to trial in August.

I did take your advice and reported my post. I feel like I must be missing something though…

No, you're not missing anything. AM hasn't been found guilty yet of Harmony's murder and KM was only convicted on perjury, as the other charges involving welfare benefits and stolen firearms were dropped under the plea agreement. The good news is that she has to testify against AM at his murder trial. MOO

The Hillsborough County Grand Jury earlier this month indicted Adam Montgomery on two counts each of being a felon in possession of a firearm and being an armed career criminal.

He is alleged to have been in possession of guns even though he has multiple felony convictions in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on April 4. An email seeking comment was left with his attorney.

Adam Montgomery, 32, was recently indicted on two firearm charges, after prosecutors said he was in possession of a pistol and a rifle between 2009 and 2014 while having several felony convictions on his record.

January's grand jury indictment for second-degree murder accuses Adam Montgomery of recklessly causing Harmony's death by repeatedly striking her in the head with a closed fist.

He has also been indicted on charges of falsifying physical evidence and witness tampering.

Seems the grand jury is a bit behind here. I recall KM long ago being investigated if not charged for receiving weapons from AM (which I believe may have been stolen). Perhaps KM recently testified here and charges were finally drawn up. MOO

Possibly. But these charges are related to possession of a pistol and a rifle between 2009 and 2014 which was long before he hooked up with KM.

The 2014 date is interesting since he was already charged in Sept of that year for carrying a firearm without a license (among other charges). AM received a sentence of 18 months behind bars.

Hopefully we'll learn more in a few days. MOO

Law & Crime 'splains it a little better. :)

MAR 29, 2023
Adam Montgomery allegedly had multiple guns in his possession despite felony convictions in both New Hampshire and bordering Massachusetts, according to the Associated Press, citing a Hillsborough County grand jury indictment.

This is not the first time he has faced legal scrutiny over alleged crimes involving the possession of firearms.

In April 2022, Adam Montgomery was charged with eight gun-related theft offenses, including two counts of theft by unauthorized taking for stealing a rifle and a shotgun and receiving stolen property for receiving or retaining the rifle and the shotgun. He was also charged with being a felon for possessing the rifle and the shotgun after having been convicted of one or more qualifying felonies. He also was charged with being an armed career criminal for possessing the rifle and the shotgun after having been convicted of three or more qualifying felonies.
