I wonder why she isn't listed as a rule out? Did Dorothy have a NamUs profile at the time she was excluded by NamUs? I wonder if they may have made a mistake by telling you she was excluded. This might be worth a follow up.

Many LE agencies don't keep their Namus listings up to date.

Status: Unsolved Homicide

On April 16, 1974, the badly decomposed body of a female was found in a wooded area off of Rte. 124 in Marlborough. It is estimated that the female was approximately 19-30 years old, 5'4" tall with a stocky build. It is believed the remains may have been there since the latter part of 1973. The death is considered suspicious. Please refer to National Missing and Unidentified Persons System for further detail.

It's possible they were submitted, but there aren't any posts specifically saying they have been. They're not listed as exclusions which may not mean a much. Apparently not all rule outs are listed as is the case with Dorothy Ann Bois.

I just spoke w OCME. If I understood correctly It seems like LE is in charge of that case. I told OCME that I'll contact Namus to see if they can get it updated.

The deceased was definitely dressed like someone with donated or 'state issued' clothing.

Jane Doe had a silver ring that had its stone removed. Patricia Newsome was possibly wearing a ring labeled "Cecilian Academy, 1952" with a blue stone.
