Awwww, thanks South and you'll always be a inspiration to me...you are way ahead my friend :blowkiss:

Way ahead of nothing and no one, my friend - we're both hanging out here....just on different continents! There's so much about you that reminds me of me. My love to you always. :blowkiss:

LOL you're funny....god I hope you're joking LOL

Actually if I had to pick, I'd pick Christianity over Scientology any day of the week...Jesus may or may not have been of a virgin birth, but he was real and he was cool- who could forget the loaves and fishes yarn.....and didn't he turn water into wine?- that was even cooler :p

Man, I can't wait for the rumors to fly around Websleuths that we've converted Narla over here on the Nicole Kidman Scientology thread!

I hear you, narlacat, and as always, respect your views on Scientology. I too have read lots of craziness and have read many of OLG's posts with so much good, but disturbing, personal experience.

I am not ready to become a Scientology apologist!! LOL! But you know me - I've always got an eye out for the other side of things.

I do find the secrecy that seems to cloak Scientology off-putting. And of course, secrecy is one of the big red flags when it comes to classifying something as a cult or a religion.

I think if you have found something that works to make the lives of human beings on Planet Earth better and more joyous and more peaceful and more free then you have a moral obligation to sing that truth from the rooftops.

This is, of course, the idea behind witnessing your faith. And I surely don't see Scientologists sending people to other countries to proclaim the good news, though I do see them sending people to other countries to up their numbers and their wallets.

When all is said and done, the only thing I'm pretty sure of is that if we humans were handed The Truth with instructions in print and on video, we would - in service to our own egos - find some way to screw it up!! Bless our hearts....I'm sure glad I believe in a patient God!

lol- true, we would.

When I saw those planes going into those bulidings, all I could see was humans killing humans- why on earth would we try to wipe ourselves out!
I was incredibly sad for the human race when that happened....I've been sad for us before of course, but that really hit home for me....I honestly don't know if we are capable of ever finding peace on Earth.

How sad is that?

Ok, so, have we all agreed that Nic relinquished control of her children because she had no choice?

lol

Can you imagine her trying to get those kids out of that cult?

I feel sorry for Nic that the kids have been brainwashed by Scientology to the point where they would rather go to Scientology boot camp than be with her on their school holidays- she didn't deserve that.

Katie should be trying to get Suri out now- before it's too late.

Its too late for Nic, those kids are as good as gone....they have been indoctrinated to the point they probably dont even like their mother now, as she doesnt embrace Scientology.

Because we see ourselves as separate and different; we have forgotten we are all the same children of our creator God.

But we can and will remember. It might seem slow because we are so hackled by time, but our brief moments here are a millisecond in God's eternity. I have no doubt we are headed where we need to go!

Yes, we do

I am just down today South, on a good day I know we will get to where we need to go..and that everything is not as bad as it seems, that there is hope.

This is probably why she doesn't use her considerable resources to fight the custody arrangement. Because we can't know the situation I can't criticize her mothering. If she was going to fight it, it should have been long ago, I'm sure that was a mistake, but who knows what Tom promised her at the time? To do so now would probably hurt the kids more or alienate her from them for good. It seems she is second fiddle and that is their family system at this point. Tom doesn't care how this hurts the children and his ex-beloved, in the long run, and this is the sad part.

I agree with those who say the cult insinuates itself into these personal family issues and cult therories call the shots. It is amazing - we see two women of considerable intelligence and success throwing aside what would appear to be their core beliefs. Nic often talked of how she wanted children. I highly doubt she then wanted to be separated from them. Katie was a good Catholic girl from a stable mid-western family. She apparently allowed herself to have a baby and then be told to stay away from it for days after its birth and now cannot comfort the child in a conventional way, among other things. If that doesn't look like brainwashing or some kind of extortion/threat situation, I don't know what does. By the time Suri is Isabella and Connor's age, this will seem normal to her too, and Katie will have no ground to stand on to change it either.

Slightly off topic (NK) but has Penelope Cruz ever spoken up about Scientology in any way? Was it ever a problem for her? Did she become a Scio?

Enquiring minds want to know!!

I personally don't think that tom ever allowed for those to be HER children. I think they were always Tom's kids. And again... I think that Suri is also TOM's child. I hate to say it, but he seems to hover over her. I wonder how much he lets Katie interact with her. It seems sad.

Ya know, it's funny you bring this up because I see this with my brother as well. Granted his wife got sick with cancer when their son was only 3 months old but even before that my brother was the main caretaker of the baby- he seemed almost a single parent in a lot of ways... the baby was his.

My brother has remarried since his wifes death and his new wife is pregnant and it already seems obvious that this baby will be *his* as well. He has begun buying and having the nanny prepare his wifes food and vitamin cocktails and she is not allowed to eat ANYthing that isn't prepared at home for her. He makes all health and diet decisions and has already informed her that she is going back to work a week after the baby is born and the nanny he has "hired" since marrying his new wife will care for the new baby in addition to the older one until he gets home at noon time.

The nanny prepares my nephews food for the day (a huge process) while she is there as well. As you may have already guessed- the nanny is a Scientologist and it appears she has been assigned to become my new SIL's (who is NOT a Scientologist) "handler". The new wife is actually an RN (strange story behind that! LOL).

Anyway, I wanted to respond to your post because what you pointed out about Tom really reminded me of my brother. I wonder if that behavior is another thing they teach in Scientology.

"Hello, Larry King? this is Nicole Kidman, I have a story for you!"

I understand it may seem as if that'd be a simple thing to do but I assure you, it isn't. Larry and many other reporters probably wouldn't touch a story about Scientology with a 10 foot pole!

Here are some stories about what happened to other people reporting on Scientology and their tactics..

This cult destroys people.. they encourage and train their followers to destroy people. Nicole is apparently not an idiot and perhaps chooses to keep her mouth shut about Scientology because she knows what the "church" is capable of and loves her children enough to not want to put them through what she knows the "church" will put them through.

Appreciate the links. This is exactly what I surmised, reading between the lines. I think it is so hard to believe, we resist believing it. I do believe it, though. I have said it before - people (obviously women w/ Cruise - to whom the power and money are seductive, too) appear to discard their core beliefs to follow garbage (imo). Unreal.

My brothers new wife had their baby today.

It's a boy who was born in a regular ol' hospital (Yale) by C-section in a delivery room where people spoke! Both mom and dad held the baby and continue to do so while he stays in the hospital room with his mom who is taking medication for the pain and is speaking and singing to him while she feeds him regular ol' baby formula! :)

Pretty friggin' cool, huh?! :)

I was not necessarily referring to the religious choice but more the fact that the children prefer to be close to him??

If that is the case then why would she live half way around the world?
It seems she does not spend much time with her children and its a sad commentary as far as her mothering goes.

I'm thinking Tom may have slowly but surely pushed her out of their lives. He wants them raised as scientologist and only scientologist.
