I disagree and here is why. I imagine that IF she had information like this, she would see it as VITAL to the case of RZ's alleged suicide. Why would she keep info like that away from the investigators of that case, if she thought RZ might have been murdered?

There is no way she would cover for Jonah as opposed to trying to get to the bottom of RZ's death, imo. Jonah being present at Maxies death would make a huge difference in that case. And she would have no reason to keep a secret for him.

I'm not a legal person, but it seems to me we have no idea what information XZ has shared with her family and her attorney (if she has an attorney). As far as I know, XZ hasn't made any public statements. For all we know, she may have provided information that was shared with the AG in support of reopening both cases.

Just my opinion.

If she had shared with the AG , evidence that Jonah had lied and covered up the fact that he was actually THERE when Maxie died---imo---the cases would be reopened already.

It is ASTOUNDING to me that the AG has not reopened Rebecca's death investigation, regardless of the details of Max's accident.

BettyP. Posted the hinky meter timeline (link below: we had made some corrections to this that are lost now, but two things stand out as conflicting with Nina's interview.Nina says Dina did not arrive to the hospital until 3 pm, nearly 5 hours after Max's accident.
Also, this is what our general timeline of Dina's whereabouts has always said as far as I know:

Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - CA Rebecca Zahau Naplepa Suicide or Murder? Media links&Timelines ONLY-NO DISCUSSION

Nina, in her interview claims Dina was at the hospital (per freespeech) until 10:00 am on Tues and returned to the hospital at 3:30 pm. That is only 5 1/2 hours away from the hospital , but I know I calculated times from other sources at Dina being away from the hospital for 12-14 hours.

Hi Time! The 12 hours originated from the 'probable cause' section of Det. Tsuida's search warrant 11-164.

Dina told DOJ agents she arrived at the hospital on Monday the 11th at about 2:00pm and left Tuesday the 12th at about 8:00am to get some sleep at her Coronado residence. According to the s/w Dina then returned to the hospital Tuesday the 11th at about 8:00pm.

IIRC, Dina stated in her Channel 8 interview that she and Dina went to the hospital sometime in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 12th..................

Correction - per s/w 11-164 Dina returned to the hospital Tuesday the 12th at 8:00pm.

I mistakenly typed Tuesday the 11th. Sorry!

Well, isn't that all just tooo weird and discrepant! Something is wrong her if Dina told DOJ agents she was away all that time and since then, either Nina or Dina are giving out other accounts in the media. BIG RED FLAGS!!!!! And, also, why did Dina say she arrived at the hospital and hour before other accounts? Then we have the Jonah and Dina discrepancies on Tues of 6 or 8 pm.

Nina stated in her interview with Channel 8 that she and Dina went to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon......she bought a book and a teddy bear for Max in the hospital gift shop. You are right, BIG RED FLAGS!!!!!!!!!! to go along with the pink Coach W-R-I-S-T-L-E-T-T!

You know, to be fair, the reporter ASKED Nina to spell that. S-P-E-L-L it.

She was crazy about Max and is a victim in this case, IMO.

As is Rebecca and her family.

Does any one think it is odd that Nina stated that Rebecca told her Max fell from the bedroom twice? Did anyone notice that Nina repaeated the statement twice? On the repeated statement she had an odd inflection to her tone. She sounded cloyingly catty to me. Does anyone else have a take on that?

And then there was a post on this forum that indicated that Dina's boyfriend's daughter stated that Max fell off the balcony. Those two statements if true which I don't necessarily believe anyway do not fit with how Max was found. However, the fact that the statements were made indicate something amiss, at least to my mind.

I recently watched an episode of 48 hrs where a voice analyser was used to determine stress levels in speech. The test was used to rule potential persons of interest in/out and as a prelude to a possible LDT if indicated. I'm wondering if that kind of test can be done on Nina's audio interview. Does anyone know anything about this type of proceedure?

Something isn't right because saying anyone fell from a bedroom would at the very least be a misstatement. It wouldn't make any sense.

I do not believe Rebecca said this although she could have said or meant from the upstairs bedroom area, which appears to be the right area or could be, near the Newell Post. And, I think Nina's voice sounds a bit strange through the whole interview - it coud be beneficial to have it analyzed though.

Also, a 'fall off the balcony" could mean somewhere near the upstairs balcony but not from the actual balcony - I'm still thinking some of this is the phone tree effect.

Unfortunately, I have the feeling that Dina and Nina took anything they could and tried to twist it into something being wrong. That clouds everything.

Although I doubt a judge would consider my instincts as "factual" in a court of law, I trust them, and the hair on the back of my neck stands straight up when I hear Nina speak of anyone "falling from a bedroom" (twice!). Ditto for "falling from a balcony", regardless of who said it, or why.
Both phrases are forever linked in my mind to Rebecca Zahau and her terrible death, but I don't imagine either one as pertaining to Maxie.

Monday morning quarterbacking? Sure.
Hindsight is 20/20? Absolutely.
Still. My instinct says, "WTF?"

ITA. RZ (according to what we know was stated by LE) never stated that MS fell from a bedroom. This is an odd statement by NS. Quite obviously, whatever happened to that poor boy, he didn't fall from ANY bedroom, he fell from the upstairs hallway. Not a sitting room, not a bedroom, the upstairs hallway.

RZ fell from a bedroom.

I sure wish there was more out there than what we can ascertain other than from MSM interviews. I guess I would look at this as an upset relative had the interview been conducted days after the accident...but the NS interview was months after, IIRC it came out just before the first Dr. Phil show.

Always, MOO

We have to wonder was it only a coincidence that Nina claims Rebecca allegedly said Max "fell from the bedroom", and then, lo and behold, Rebecca actually fell from the bedroom! Hmm...

Nina's audio interview contained many oddities and discrepancies. It was, imo, overall an apparently incoherent and unique rendition of her version of the events. I do not know what if any credence can be given to that.

To me, it seems that the major purpose the interview was to discredit the witness who adamantly identified Dina at the house prior to Rebecca's death. Nina's attitude struck me as one that was loyally protective of her sister. I perceived that another purpose of the interview was to introduce and expand on the idea that Rebecca lied about Max's accident and that she continued to hide details that the doctors needed to save his life.

Imo, the entire interview was a farce. I don't believe a word Nina or Dina stated regarding anything surrounding the two deaths. I certainly would not take anything Nina stated as a fact or in lieu of a LDT.

I don't recall the exact order of the theories floated re: Maxie's fall, but it seems to me the "tragic accident" morphed into "Rebecca's fault" (which versions vary, but include: neglect, delayed 911 call, gave/withheld CPR, lied,
suffocated, and jujitsu'd over the railing) only after Rebecca's death was deemed a suicide and the public wasn't buying it. Is this correct? TIA.

Sad for the family to endure such a horrific tragedy.

With that said- One could also read the above comment as the Aunt "was crazy about Max " and is in the sphere of people who had both motive and opportunity. Not to mention she may be a victim but she was the last VM on Rz''s phone.

Power is back where I am from superstorm Sandy. Grateful for heat and electricity tonight- ( it is so cold out ) hundreds of thousands still with out power so I will be saying a prayer for the victims in NJ NY and CT.

iSleuth, I'm glad to hear that you got your power back. I know how you feel about being grateful for it and how that makes you want to pray for all the other people who are still waiting in the cold and darkness. I will be praying for them as well. God bless you.

I think the versions began morphing and magnifying the moment calls were made between the Shacknais and Romanos regarding Max's accident.
