A woman convicted of killing, burning and dismembering her 23-month-old son will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
[.....]
During an emotional sentencing hearing Tuesday afternoon in a Cumberland County courtroom, family members tearfully expressed their grief and Superior Court Judge George H. Gangloff Jr. delivered a blistering assessment of Griner’s actions before imposing the sentence.
[.....]
Many members of Daniel’s family attended the hearing, all wearing buttons with a picture of the happy little boy they lost, and several offered victim impact statements to the court before sentencing, calling the defendant selfish and uncaring.
[.....]
Superior Court Judge George H. Gangloff Jr. grew emotional as he spoke Tuesday about the severity of Griner’s actions, finding that the killing and destruction of Daniel’s body were separate criminal acts.

In addition to the life sentence for murder, he sentenced her to a consecutive seven-year term on the desecration count.

He called her crimes “beyond comprehension.”

Thank goodness for that.

Sleep well, Daniel. Your killer will never harm another child like you ever again.
