If her parents did indeed lose employment, the employers should be addressed by an advocacy group to assist the grieving family."She said the search had been incredibily difficult for the family, saying she and her parents have missed so much work that they have lost their jobs and are relying on food stamps.
Dulce María and her family live in Bridgeton, a small Latino-majority city of 25,000 surrounded by one of the most rural areas of the state. It's the seat of Cumberland County, which is the leading producer of vegetables, potatoes, melons, flowers and sod in the state.
A third of Bridgeton's residents live in poverty and nearly three in 10 lack health care insurance. It is 51% Latino, according to U.S. Census figures, but some locals believe it could be as much as 70-80% Latino."
A Desperate Plea From Mom of Missing 5-Year-Old Dulce María
If the playground was under construction that leads to more questions. Who was doing construction: City rec department? Independent contractor? Both? As someone mentioned in a back post, shoes could be work boots. Van could be work van. Depending on soil composition in that area could a dirty, dusty van take on a reddish hugh?
Yes, we found an article that was posted last night that said playground was under construction but no workers were there working on the project at the time Dulce went missing.
I have to admit to being baffled by the description of what happened today as told by Mom at presser. Before, timeline was 3 yo ran back to car crying and that was the alert.Wow some new information from the press conference mom did. Said she was sitting in the car scratching a lotto ticket and her sister was getting out her homework and she was going to go over it with her.She also said her 3 year old doesn’t speak yet and did not run back to the car.
I think originally she did say ten minutes and after that some sources indicated that she said three. I think it is probably closer to ten.I have to admit to being baffled by the description of what happened today as told by Mom at presser. Before, timeline was 3 yo ran back to car crying and that was the alert.
Now, timeline had sister in car saying that she couldn't see Dulce and then Mom and sister get out of car and find 3 yo crying. 3 yo doesn't speak per Mom and so when Mom asked him where Dulce was he motioned to the 2 sheds and Mom looked but didn't find Dulce or her ice cream or spoon (she had some kind of coconut ice that she had gotten at Sunoco). Mom today said it was about 10 min from when she pulled into park until they noticed Dulce was missing.
IDK what to think about the timeline anymore. Will go back and listen again and see if I can get a clearer timeline. I can understand her spanish but if any native speakers can take a listen and post about her comments in spanish, I think it might help us all in case I miss nuance as a non native speaker here.
That's what I was thinking. Just read about a little kid that fell into a grease vat behind a business and died. Do they have any drains and manholes Dulce could have fallen into? Now that we are weeks into the investigation, I guess I can mention this, as much as I hate to. I wonder if storm drains and manholes have been checked? Hopefully LE checked dumpsters.
the license plate capture takes actual photos. they should still be able to access them 24 hours later.

Here is the article describing the current version of the story. I have no clue why 2 weeks in we are getting a different description of what happened. This also suggests mother's sister was able to see where children were from the car.I have to admit to being baffled by the description of what happened today as told by Mom at presser. Well, according to the article linked below, LE interviewed him and he was able to tell them he saw a man waving, per Dulce's mother. Really curious how non-verbal child was able to tell this to the police.I know we've heard the 3 year old is non-verbal.
Has the family actually said that?
Has LE been allowed access to him at all?
Not having language/communication skills yet (which is not unusual for a 3yo boy) is not the same as non-verbal. He probably does not have the language skills yet to communicate what he saw.I know we've heard the 3 year old is non-verbal.

According to his mother he doesn't talk. Are we going to debate what exactly that means? Not having language/communication skills yet (which is not unusual for a 3yo boy) is not the same as non-verbal. He probably does not have the language skills yet to communicate what he saw.
Have they detailed where they are searching this weekend? I still have not seen any LE mention of searching Jeddy's Pond with divers. If the abductor took her behind the buildings and didn't put her in a van at that point, then if he walked south past the ball field into the woods he had no way to escape that didn't include crossing water or the Pond.Organized search parties planned for this weekend.
Dulce's mom stated she could see the playground but not the swings.
She was scratching a lottery ticket and her 8 year old family member was getting her homework out for needed help.
Grandmom sadly spoke in Spanish begging for Dulce to be returned.
All this info from a local news station that just now reported from the park at 6pm EDT

Some folks would take "doesn't talk" to mean he is mute. I suspect she means he doesn't have language to communicate. There is a big difference.According to his mother he doesn't talk. Are we going to debate what exactly that means?
"She also shared more information about the events of the afternoon Dulce disappeared, and disclosed that her 3-year-old son "doesn't talk.""
