Mother of 5-year-old South Jersey girl apparently abducted in Bridgeton park grieves and waits

“Alavez Perez’s parents — who have reversed last names, Norma Perez Alavez and Camilo Alavez Perez — emigrated from Mexico 20 years ago. The father works in a nursery, the mother in a food factory.

While Dulce and Manuel live in the family house, Alavez Perez lives in a room in a nearby house. .

She said she and her mother fought. “My mom kicked me out,” she said. “I was angry so much and not helping out. But because I had Dulce when I was 14, my parents loved her like she was their daughter and took official custody of her. I’m OK with it.”

She said she neither works nor is in school.

Alavez Perez said she had trouble with drugs and alcohol and had fallen into depression in the past. But, she added, those negatives are no longer factors.”

Those employers should be ashamed of themselves - fired them for looking for their little girl?!!
What's even more concerning is THIS quote, in my opinion:

Even the authorities have been suspicious, she said. “The police tell me, ‘If you know where she is, tell us.’ But I told them everything. They think I’m lying; I’m telling the truth.”

Then you missed the whole discussion on this thread. Maybe because bunch of posts seems to have disappeared even though they linked to msm articles.
Here is something.

Mother of missing 5-year-old renews appeal for public help: ‘She’s just an innocent girl'

"Alavez Perez has said she drove to the park with her 8-year-old sister, 3-year-old son, and Dulce after buying ice cream. She said she stayed in the car with her sister to talk about homework while Dulce and her brother went to the playground, 30 yards away.

She originally said the boy returned crying and pointing to some buildings near the playground.

But on Monday, Alavez Perez said that when her sister said she could not see the younger children, they went to check on them and found the little boy crying. His ice cream was on the ground and he was pointing at buildings at the playground, she said."

No mention of how long it took her to notice Dulce was missing.

Where did she say that her parents got fired from their jobs? Was it in a video? The link I just read mentioned where they worked, but not that the grandparents got fired. Thanks!

I personally guessed that the boy wasn't speaking much. But the impression I got that he at least could talk some. He supposedly told police he saw the man waiving. But today it sounds like he can't talk at all as of yet.

Every article I continue to read still states that he did, including one posted just recently.

"The mother was about 30 yards away, sitting in her vehicle with an 8-year-old relative," Gaimari said. "The 3-year-old and the 5-year-old who’s missing were playing on a swing set, which was partially blocked from her view but about 30 yards away. And then she saw the 3-year-old run back to the car. She got out of the car, and she started looking for the 5-year-old and couldn’t find the 5-year-old."

Is there another source saying something different?

In this most recent video Noema states that he did not run back to the car.

Maybe protecting him? Like he knows nothing, leave him alone?

Offering a new detail, Alavez Perez said investigators did not find the cup of coconut water ice or the spoon Dulce took with her to the playground.

An Amber Alert was issued more than 24 hours after Dulce was last seen, saying the girl was apparently abducted— possibly by a man who, witnesses told investigators, may have led her into a red van. But officials have shifted back and forth on whether the man was a suspect or a witness, and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has said it is "treating this as a missing person investigation until evidence indicates otherwise.”

What would be the point? Except to protect him?

Maybe it was a tactic originally used to make the abductor think the child was providing a host of valuable information?

They have no advocates? That is so cruel!
Twelve New CASA Volunteers Set to Speak Up for Abused and Neglected Children, Next Volunteer Training Begins Oct. 9

CASA of Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties

Cultural competency is more than overcoming a language barrier; sensitivity to traditions and values builds trust between the CASA volunteer and the child. “Every single Hispanic culture is different, but the method of upbringing with a foundation of family is there (in all cultures),” Yasna said. Despite their differences, with most Hispanic and Latino cultures, there is a commonality of having deep passion for family. “We love to fight, but at the dinner table, we all love each other,” she said laughing. Although the CASA children have come from an abusive home-life, their propensity to reflect their culture is still there, she explained.

As a CASA Volunteer, you try very hard to keep emotion out of your interactions with the children. However, for Hispanic culture, Yasna says, “you need to bring emotion out to form a trust with the child.”

According to Casey Family Programs, Hispanic children are more likely to be placed in foster care and for longer periods than their White, non-Latino peers. Because of this, it is essential that the CASA volunteer and child relationship be based on trust, rapport, and an ability to understand and appreciate the child’s culture and traditions.

A more diverse volunteer base will better match the cultural make-up of the children CASA serves, but a shortage of Hispanic and Latino volunteers makes it difficult to meet the need. Understanding how children feel about their heritage and being able to communicate and relate to their traditions can make the difference between the child feeling alone or appreciated and self-assured.

Perhaps the mom is protecting him - saying he doesn’t speak so the cops won’t scare him by asking questions and trying to get him to answer. Must be frightening to a young child.

Mother's English seems to be just fine. She was born in US. So really don't know how to explain why originally boy supposedly run back to the car but today mother and her sister went to look for the children because the sister couldn't see them.

After two weeks, I presume cops very well know whether he can talk or not. Supposedly he had been interviewed.

This little girl and her family in real trouble. And needing EVERYONES support. I said on the first thread send the Padres priests and ministers out . The police lost this when arrested Mamas boyfriend and gave him to ice.. it was over in that moment for this little girl!

I agree :(. And you can't blame the community for how they feel. I agree clergy is REALLY needed here.

If your post was deleted please read below regarding victim friendly. We all know that there is a language barrier and it appears ridiculous to debate whether the brother spoke or waved his hand and whether he is non-verbal or not.

from The Rules: Etiquette & Information

VICTIM FRIENDLY

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way, and only when such behavior is relevant to the case.

The "victim friendly" rule extends to the family members of victims and suspects. Sleuthing family members, friends, and others who have not been designated as suspects is not allowed. Don't make random accusations, suggest their involvement, nor bash and attack them. Posting their personal information, including names, addresses, and background data -- even if it is public -- is not allowed. That does not mean, however, that statements made by family members and other third parties cannot come into discussion as the facts of the case are reported in the media.

Ok, thank you. I don't think anyone meant any disrespect towards the mother or the child, in terms of speech.

A bunch of posts from different posters went missing. That makes for a difficult discussion. Not sure why trying to figure out details of the story makes that unfriendly to the victims. The boy either talks, in which case he cold potentially explain what happened, or he doesn't. Seems like that would make a difference in what kind of witness he could be. The boy either run back to the car or he didn't. Those are details of the story that seem to be confusing and contradictory.

Please Lord, let Dulce be found quickly and find peace with her family. I pray she is not suffering. Amen

I agree- I think it’s hugely important to be able to assess what is reliable information about the crime itself and what isn’t. I’ve been a bit unsettled actually ever since watching that interview today- between the red van/no van, and now the brother running to car/not running to car, I feel like details we’re being given through MSM are now unreliable.

The other thing unsettling to me is Noema’s comments about things in her past and people that have issues with her family (paraphrased). And that is in no way victim-blaming. It makes me worried there are in fact people who could wish harm upon her and her family and could have taken Dulce for that reason. And if so, that bit could be important, no?

MOO.
