Some folks would take "doesn't talk" to mean he is mute. I suspect she means he doesn't have language to communicate. There is a big difference.

Not really that big a difference when it comes to describing something to the police. Either way he can't tell what he saw. And I don't think she means he is mute. I am assuming she means he doesn't talk YET.

Horrible! Both parents lost their jobs. I think their place of employment has been mentioned, I can't remember off hand.

I remember the granpa worked in a nursery and grandma in a food processing plant but not sure if employer names were ever mentioned .

Have they detailed where they are searching this weekend? I still have not seen any LE mention of searching Jeddy's Pond with divers. If the abductor took her behind the buildings and didn't put her in a van at that point, then if he walked south past the ball field into the woods he had no way to escape that didn't include crossing water or the Pond.
He would have had to go through the woods parallel to Burt Road down past the elementary school. Then where?

The reporter said organized searches in the park. I guess they don't know where else to search. When a child is snatched from a public area like that, and there is such a lack of evidence etc...what to do? Repeat, repeat.

I actually found a post with the Mayor, Albert Kelly speaking that said the basketball courts reopened on September 11th after a resurfacing project. The two companies involved in the project had posts about it as well. I’ll search for an article. Can’t find article quickly. Going to link the post since it is the Mayor speaking and posted by Bridgeton police athletic league. I’ll also report to make sure allowed. Bridgeton City PAL on Instagram: “I'm excited to share the great news both of our courts in the park have been repaved and painted!! Let's continue to do our part tti keep…”

I don’t think any work was going on at that hour but it definitely had not been completed. If it was considered complete whoever did the job did not clean up properly.
I was wondering why they would have chosen this playground (maybe less crowded) and googled to see if there were any other nearby and did notice one on the map called city park - just west of the playground Dulce was reported missing from.
Maybe that playground was considered complete ?
After seeing the parking lot /playground distance I was surprised Manuel found his way back to the car as originally reported but figured they must have gone there regularly. Today’s version makes more sense to me based on the layout.

I don't think we actually know if the child was "snatched" from a public area. I don't think police are sue at all of a red van story. Which means she could still be in the park somewhere, maybe she had fallen into some manhole.

She could be in that pond Rosie has mentioned, or in the woods as well. How many times have we seen someone found in a place that was searched more than once?

I fell for all the missing, but the children are the hardest. They have not made any wrong choices in life, to anger another. To kill a child is killing part of humanity. I hope this/these persons are found and delt with quickly.

This little girl and her family in real trouble. And needing EVERYONES support. I said on the first thread send the Padres priests and ministers out . The police lost this when arrested Mamas boyfriend and gave him to ice.. it was over in that moment for this little girl!

“The 3-year-old came back to the car without Dulce and after a brief search of the immediate area, Perez called 911, police said.

"He was crying and when I asked 'where's your sister' -- he just pointed behind the building. That's it because he doesn't speak," Perez said Monday.

She said that after stopping for ice cream at a Sunoco station they drove over to the park, where Dulce and her brother immediately got out and ran over to the playground. She said from the parking lot she could not see the swings because of a hill.

“Alavez Perez’s parents — who have reversed last names, Norma Perez Alavez and Camilo Alavez Perez — emigrated from Mexico 20 years ago. The father works in a nursery, the mother in a food factory.

While Dulce and Manuel live in the family house, Alavez Perez lives in a room in a nearby house. .

She said she and her mother fought. “My mom kicked me out,” she said. “I was angry so much and not helping out. But because I had Dulce when I was 14, my parents loved her like she was their daughter and took official custody of her. I’m OK with it.”

She said she neither works nor is in school.

Alavez Perez said she had trouble with drugs and alcohol and had fallen into depression in the past. But, she added, those negatives are no longer factors.”

The only things around the playground are the basketball court, the buildings, the parking area where her mom was parked and woods. In that short of time, and given the known starting point, I hope LE and SAR wouldn't have missed her. How far could she have gotten if she was not taken? I've been to this park and the woods are not that accessible (rough terrain as you stated) and everything else near the playground is out in the open.

I thought that I had read that they lost her scent by water…. I can no longer find any article stating that fact… I did, however, come across An aerial video that helped me understand the terrain a bit better. If she had been carried perhaps there might not be a scent but it definitely looks like one could avoid being seen quite easily Once they pass the tree line. That might be why they keep returning.

Every article I continue to read still states that he did, including one posted just recently.

"The 3-year-old and the 5-year-old who’s missing were playing on a swing set, which was partially blocked from her view but about 30 yards away. And then she saw the 3-year-old run back to the car. She got out of the car, and she started looking for the 5-year-old and couldn’t find the 5-year-old."

Is there another source saying something different?

Yes -- I noticed that... What about the custard/ice cream cone? Which one is correct? I tend to believe what I heard first, but either way, Mom saw her daughter was not where she expected her to be, and her world suddenly changed to fear and desperation. It's difficult to imagine how she and her folks are getting by now, in so many ways. SMH.
