No rain in forecast for Sunday, as another family planned search will take place.

Has LE ever stepped back from searching for missing persons and allowed the family to organize searches with the intent to observe how family members or others behave?
Maybe to see who participates and what they do to help? We see immediate family, but are extended family involved?

I'd like for LE to comment on the general public safety of the community beyond reminding to keep an eye on your kids.

Missing 5-year-old Dulce Alavez’s family plans new search after rain hampered last effort

Participants in this Sunday’s search will meet at 9 a.m. near the spot where Dulce was reported missing. The day will include searches of areas not previously checked, including fields surrounding Bridgeton, and door-to-door distribution of fliers.

Rodriguez stressed that private properties will not be searched without prior permission from the owners.

Learn more about the effort by going to the Find Dulce Maria Official Page on Facebook.

I’m thinking the little brother is perhaps the one who saw the person that take Dulce. Unfortunately, they say he’s non-verbal. However, that doesn’t always mean he can’t communicate in other ways. I’m wondering if family and/or LE have gone through photos of any potential suspects to see if the boy can point them out? I can imagine how scary that would be for the little boy. I can’t help but wonder if he saw the person and would recognize them.
I know my almost 3 year old grandson doesn’t clearly communicate but I believe if asked him about a certain person that he could tell me if that person was around him at a certain time and place. It may be through the process of me asking questions such as, “Was so and so with you at the park?” in which he could respond with a nod (yes) or a side-to-side(no).

I think if this was a stranger abduction the perp likely watched the playground in the days/weeks prior and honed in on Dulce.

He could have observed the families that came and went at that park, assessed what he thought was their economic/academic/financial/language profile and chosen Dulce for a variety of those reasons. So I would agree with JerzeyGirl that Dulce could have been seen as a “perfect victim” in terms of hoping he’d get away with it easier.

But if it were a stranger I think he definitely watched her prior. Abduction happened too fast IMO.

I seem to remember that there was an interview with Dulce’s mother where she said that they had their dog with them during previous visits to the playground , and this day they had left the dog home because it had scared other visitors to the park.

Not sure if that is a relevant point but I think it should be considered regarding being watched/selected by a stranger on earlier visits.

Meaning the perp may not have been watching her previously because of the dog or meaning that the Monday she was abducted was perfect b/c the perp saw the dog wasn’t there?

I wonder what day(s) they last visited the park prior to the day Dulce went missing? If it was recent, did they notice a person hanging around or that was a regular visitor? Did any particular person(s) stand out?
Did they go there often enough for someone to observe their patterns of behavior? Or was this a random crime of opportunity?
I’m also thinking if Dulce and her family were frequent visitors, they may have known others that were regulars, too. Have any regular visitors been located or interviewed especially those involved in sports or any other programs there? Maybe they’ve seen someone a bit out of place?

The longer she is missing, I don't know if that is a good sign or a bad one?

I think it comes down to this..if she is found it will be either because of a tip or because a hunter/hiker/random person discovers where she has been left. It's just difficult to imagine she is still alive and safe at this point. I would love to be wrong.

I think it's a bad sign. If someone was keeping her alive I think they would have had some sort of evidence or some leads by now.

LE may not know more until they or someone else finds a body.

They probably won't search for remains unless they have evidence that leads them to a specific area.

Imo

There are so many possibilities too. A ton of farmland, anywhere in the Pine Barrens, in or around the waterways leading to Delaware River and Bay. Even a few state parks which are heavily wooded. It's a bit overwhelming trying to think of where she could have been taken. JMO

I believe the woman who is a child advocate and was quoted in press early on recognized Dulce and get brother as being regular visitors to the Park.

I do not have the article handy, but the woman also has young children, and when Dulce was first reported missing, the woman immediately knew who she was from her "long, beautiful hair." ( Paraphrasing) And shared how the kids had both been playing at the park a few days ago when she was their with her daughters.

Correct. Dulce was seen by that woman on Friday (Dulce went missing from the park 3 days later, on Monday)
I remember both the article and wondering if that previous visit would hinder the tracking dogs tracking Mondays movements if she was also there just 3 days prior.

"Dulce Maria Alavez, 5, has been missing for 48 days, but people in Bridgeton hope they will find her.

Volunteers from Bridgeton and surrounding areas joined together to search for the girl who went missing during a family visit to Bridgeton City Park on Sep. 16. The areas examined by volunteers were locations not previously checked, including fields surrounding Bridgeton. Volunteers also went door-to-door to distribute fliers.

Nearly 20 volunteers came out for the search, including Dulce’s mom, Noema Alavez Perez."

On Sunday a small group of volunteers scoured the woods in Bridgeton, New Jersey for clues in the disappearance of Dulce Maria Alavez. The 5-year-old was kidnapped from a city park on Sept. 16.

The woman who organized Sunday’s search says the family has received messages to search near the river for Dulce.

Dulce’s family is planning a march next weekend to the police station to keep Dulce’s name and face fresh in people’s minds.

IMO if they’re allowing family to search, they “know” they won’t find anything
