I lived not far from that area at the time and it is problematic because it is right near highway 49, which is Broad Street in Bridgeton, which can get you out of the state and into Delaware within a half hour.

There are also abandoned buildings in Bridgeton, as it is a severely depressed area since the glass industry dried up. Not far from that playground is an old growth forest in the same park and not a mile away on Beebe Run Road was an old mill converted to a home that was abandoned and since burned down some point after Dulce’s abduction.

Mysterious case of Dulce Maria Alavez continues to haunt N.J. community 6 years later

The 2019 vanishing of 5-year-old Dulce Maria Alavez from a Cumberland County park remains unsolved as her family prepares for another memorial at the site.

To mark the sixth anniversary of her disappearance, family and supporters will return to the park on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. to remind the community that Dulce hasn’t come home.

As in previous years, attendees will gather at Dulce’s Tree, which was dedicated in the little girl’s honor near the playground where she was last seen.
