Alavez Perez told NJ.com that the girl’s father is in Mexico but still has family in Bridgeton.

During the search Tuesday, an ice cream vendor played his truck’s jingle in the hopes it would catch the girl’s attention and give her direction to follow.

The girl’s mother told a local news outlet that Dulce and her brother were eating ice cream in the park while her mother was inside a nearby car with another child, since identified as the girl’s 8-year-old aunt, when Dulce’s brother began crying and pointed towards some storage buildings, indicating that this sister had gone in that direction.

“I thought she was just playing hide-and-seek, that she was playing in the woods,” the girl’s mother told WACU.

I think it's more relevant in this particular case to find the vast DOJ Washington State study which includes 775 children who were abducted and later found murdered.

In the biggest study ever done to date backed by the DOJ the percentages, and categories drastically change, and actually flip flop.

44% were total strangers to the abducted child.

42% were a neighbor, acquaintance etc of the child, and family.

Only 13 or 14% percent of abducted murdered children are ever abducted, and murdered by parents or other family members.

I dont get any sense they believe she was abducted by a family member or even someone she or her family knew.

The family would know already if the description fits anyone within their family or friends, and his van would also be very recognizable by family members as well. Imo

“I saw my son crying because someone had [thrown] his ice cream on the floor and after that he started pointing behind those buildings over there,” Noema told reporters of some structures near the playground. “We thought she was just hiding … she was just playing hide and seek.”

Perez began to search for the young girl—even calling family members to assist in the search—but there was no sign of the 5-year-old. The family called police just before 5 p.m.

Since Jersey Girl informed us tinted windows aren't allowed we have to possibly consider this may be another nomadic serial pedophile that goes from city to city or even state to state to commit more crimes, and then moves on.

Joe Duncan, one of the most deadly serial sadist pedophiles, and murderers in recent history was classified as nomadic.

Also after many long years of being unsolved C. Clements was finally arrested for the abduction, and murder of beautiful Isabelle Celis along with the abduction, rape, and murder of precious Maribel Gonzalez.

When LE started investigating this pedophile's history it was vast covering many states from the starting age of when he was around 15. The FBI is still investigating him even now for other possible victims in all states he had been in before moving to Tucson.

Did they get ice cream from the shop, the custard thing, or whatever it's called or the ice cream truck, or all three or two or one.

My heads going to explode with all the different accounts, lol. There doesn't seem to be any continuity in the statements getting released.

I just wanted to say about the tinted windows, yes they're illegal here in NJ, but that's not to say people don't have them anyway. Also, a lot of people have rear and side windows tinted, but not the driver's side, which is the issue (safety for police officers).

Thanks for that. And from this link - maybe basketball players finally gave some info. The courts seems in a location where something might have been witnessed.

"About two dozen people were playing basketball at a court near the play area at the time the child went missing, police said. All were interviewed by police and none reported seeing an abduction, police reported around mid-day Tuesday. Witnesses confirmed seeing the kids at the playground.

Possibly the b-ball players. Probably young and maybe asked and re-asked to get the info. Asking without putting information into their heads but getting them to realize they saw something. Dulce Maria Alavez, 5, is a Hispanic female, approximately 3 feet tall and 60 to 70 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with an elephant on it, black and white pants and white shoes.

Detectives believe she was taken by a light-skinned Hispanic male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 with a thin build, no facial hair and facial acne. He was wearing orange sneakers, red pants and a black shirt.

The suspect was last seen leading Dulce from the Bridgeton City Park playground to a red van with a sliding side door and tinted windows at approximately 4:20 p.m. Monday.

They bought ice cream at a gas station. The surveillance pictures released are right by the ice cream cooler where she is about to pick it out of the cooler.

The ice cream truck was really just a man assisting in the search in a pickup truck, playing an ice cream truck jingle while driving around the park to try to lure her out, if she was scared and hiding in the woods in the park.

I'm thinking they had to track down witnesses. By the time Mom called her brother to help her and then they finally called, LE, it highly likely that people who where in the park during the time she went missing, including all of the basketball players, had left and gone home, not realizing there was a missing child. JMO
