IMO it's concerning that the witnesses couldn't tell the difference between an SUV and a van, especially if the description was given by the basketball players in the park, assuming they were young. Like you said, they could describe the perp as having acne and no facial hair and the van/SUV having tinted windows but they couldn't tell which it was? I dunno... I'm actually surprised no one in the lot could even identify the make.

JMO and MOO but I'm having trouble with that.

As the mom of teens, I doubt my kids would be able to say what it was. Neither of them is a car aficionado and some newer vans look like crossovers and vice versa. No clue if this was a new model or not, but I could see young people not knowing this. And if English isn't their first language, they also might not be able to communicate exactly what they saw. (i.e. acne vs. meth sores....maybe even getting colors mixed up!).

It's quite possible the suspect was hanging around and was at one point close enough to the witnesses for them to get specific details on his appearance. And also that the SUV/van was not so close, was seen more distantly and therefore there is some confusion. We don't really know how old the basketball players are right? If high school age or younger, maybe they don't realize the difference. Likely not, I reckon...but for me, when I was that age, I had no idea about car differences. JMO

Thank you Zecats and Stunned too. I noticed that on one of the good maps posted, that there is a high school and elementary near the park. IMO-not saying that this is Dulce or her aunt's school, but what if someone had been watching Dulce or even her aunt at school (maybe even before the day she was kidnapped) and followed them to where they got ice cream and then to the park. Maybe the aunt was even the original target and took Dulce instead. Also, IMHO, this is really a stranger abduction and Dulce's family doesn't have anything to do with it. With the 2 schools being close by, I would think they would have cameras that would of shown any red or even a varying color of red on them.
Good points. I think it's highly possible he could have been hanging around an elementary school and it just happened to be near the park. Because of the time involved, I can't see him following them all that way and those distances. Say school is dismissed at 3:30. She is most likely in Kindergarten, so maybe even only goes in the morning or the afternoon. I've been checking Bridgeton School District info to see if they have full-day Kindergarten.. Either she's picked up by someone to come home or she rides a bus home. She changed from her uniform into the clothes we see at the Sunoco Convenience Store. And then to the park by 4:00ish. Plus there are several elementary schools in town so don't know which one she attended.

I was just going to make that comment about English not being their first language and therefore their description may not be as precise as we would like... Praying...

I drive the Parkway and Turnpike north for my commute and have not seen one alert on any of the electric highway signs.
Now, there’s something wrong with that.

Umm, when is Birthday. Sorry for being insensitive! But in many states you have to be 5 before September 1.

I don't know when her birthday is, but it is only September 19th today, so chances are she turned 5 before 9/1 anyway.....right?

One of Alavez Perez’s sisters, Nayaeli Alavez, 21, said that Dulce is a “mischievous, very smart little girl” who always listens to her mother. Earlier in the month, she began kindergarten at Buckshutem Road Elementary School in Bridgeton.
Mother of 5-year-old South Jersey girl apparently abducted in Bridgeton park grieves and waits
Thank you, that’s good too know! Something about mischievous little girl gives me hope. Mess with them Dulce! Mess with them, little warrior!

And that also makes me ask if the witnesses could tell the difference between an older vehicle and newer one. IOW, an older Dodge Caravan would look very different from a newer Honda Passport - *only as an example*. Maybe none of the witnesses were interested in SUVs/Vans but if they were teens with driver's licenses IMO I'd think they would be if only because teens often pay attention to potentially owning something to drive around in. I dunno, for all we know the witnesses were a group of middle-aged accountants playing pick up games so it's all speculation on my part. I may have made a wrong assumption from the get go.

I have been hoping LE had CCTV of such a vehicle in the area during that time but it seems to not be the case. Sigh. :(

Wishing for a scenario like in O Henry's "The Ransom of Red Chief."

I would hope LE would have had a translator available because I also noticed the long sleeve pink went to the yellow short sleeve.

SOME teens pay attention to cars, but I don't think very many. Most teens just want wheels that look OK....they have no clue, yet, what makes/models/years are.

Same here. Someone here suggested earlier that the mom might have put a long sleeved shirt on Dulce over her yellow one because of the temperature. That hasn't been verified in msm or by LE but it would make sense.

In NJ it's October 31

All my four teens and granddaughter knew/know all that stuff. Their dad/papa is a race car nut and has been in the automobile business his whole life starting at Chrysler. I still don’t have a clue!

Just adding to my own post. When I was in high school I can only think of 2-3 friends (out of many that I had) who "cared" about cars. And they really loved cars - makes and models. MOST kids do not care or know. I doubt this has changed a lot since I've been a kid. I've never heard either of my kids talk about makes or models of cars, and they each have their own car.

In NJ, it's October 31 anyway. And she's already 5, as stated.

I'd venture to guess this is the exception since they were raised in the "biz" :).
