Man found guilty of killing 4 family members in New Year’s Eve massacre, officials say

Found guilty. From article linked above:

“The jury’s verdict confirms that Scott Kologi was responsible for his decisions and actions on the night that culminated with him killing four members of his family,” Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said in a statement. “This trial hinged on issues of mental health and the responsibility of this defendant. It is clear that the jury considered all of the evidence, including testimony of expert witnesses, as well as the applicable law, in rendering its verdict. In recognizing the criminality of the defendant’s actions, we also recognize that this is a tragedy for all of the family members who are left to mourn this tremendous loss. This office will continue to hold the perpetrators of gun violence responsible.”

I expected the verdict would be guilty, but I think it is the wrong verdict, it was obvious to me he was seriously mentally ill at time of shooting, and he was legally insane IMO
the murders also could have been prevented if his family had got him help,

Scott Kologi, 20, was sentenced earlier today by Monmouth County Superior Court Criminal Division Presiding Judge Marc C. Lemieux. He must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence, or 127 ½ years, before becoming eligible for parole, under the terms of New Jersey’s No Early Release Act.
