Found Deceased NJ - George Gdovin, 32, Bay Head, 3 March 2017

I think someone may have beat him up and was chasing him. He was disoriented and put the couch up to keep them out. If I'm right, anf someone was chasing him, I know the last thing George would do is to go home and put his fiancee in the chance any kind of harm. I don't know if his family would want me to disclose the injuries he was found with, but let's just say.....I don't believe that his injuries were self-inflicted.

If someone was chasing him, how did he have time to check in/ get a key to a motel room??

I don't know. But knowing George, if he was in danger, he wouldn't go home and put his fiancee in danger. I thought maybe he got the hotel room because he was drunk, but if he'd been drunk and unable to drive, he'd have called or texted his fiancee to pick him up. George wouldn't have driven a car under the influence. You have to understand, that George was a polite, law-abiding, and respectable man, and that's what makes this situation all the more confusing.

My sons friends family does own that one. The family should contact them and the gas station to ask about what they saw on their security footage if the police haven't already shared that with them. It might help answer some questions for them. I would bet that at least one of those businesses have footage.
I also wondered how he acted when he checked in? Was he in a hurry? Did he say something while checking in?

Perhaps someone was following him via the car and he lost them. I wonder if he parked close to his room.

Also, not to downplay who he is known as...maybe he had a past life or another life that was unknown to others.
Sadly, today I just found out that an airmen my husband supervised did : (

I guess we wait for cod.

Yep.
If I where that family, I would definitely be driving to RT 30 and asking each of the adjacent business owners for their security footage and opinions about his demeanor that night.
Hint-It's common here for some business owners of foreign decent to live in their business.
If the police are being less than forthcoming, I would definitely go talk to some people who live and work on RT 30.

Just in case anyone is wondering-
The hotels and motels located on RT 30 are mostly used by people buying and or selling drugs or engaged in prostitution, in the winter months.
In the summer months, they are full of tourists.

RT 30 connects into Atlantic city. For many, they don't want to stay directly in the city or pay the high cost for casino rooms so they take the quick drive down 30 and stay in the Absecon-Galloway area.

Not everyone who stays there is involved with drugs or prostitution but many are.
Some people spend time gambling in Atlantic city and just don't want to pay for a room there so travel out a bit further for a better price.

The police would've most likely told the family what was found in the room and they'll also get an official COD so they probably already know some of the details that we're here wondering about.

His phone records would also help the family get a good idea of who he may have been in contact with that night.
The Atlantic county prosecutors office is notoriously tight lipped. If they suspect foul play, they will usually not answer any questions until an arrest has been made. But we don't know if this will even be a matter for the prosecutor at this point, I guess we'll have to wait for more information to surface.

It also says that George was not ubering or lyfting that night.
It says he hadn't driven for Uber in weeks and was not registered with lyft at all.
So that part of the story raises questions!

What did the officer find on his phone that night? I'm guessing he was pulled over and released.

Why do the reports say he was working for Uber but yet Uber shows he wasn't?

Because George went to school here, there's a good chance he knew people here. He would've known the area of the hotel since he went to Stockton.

If he was being chased then why not tell the police when they pulled him over? The officer stated that George was not in a good state of mind. What could that mean? If the officer Drew that conclusion after reading George's phone then what was on that phone that was troubling? Did George send troubling texts that night?

No, George didn't send anyone in his family, his friends, or his fiancee any troubling texts that night. We had no idea where he was because no one who knew him was able to communicate with him.

A lot more information in that write up.

He wasn't working that night so what was going on? Sadly, it sounds like the pressures of life. It can be overwhelming some days.

He told his fiancee he was out Ubering that night. She believed him. He did work for Uber, so she had no reason not to believe him. The investigation is continuing, this wasn't a suicide or an OD.

It pains me to say it but I've accepted that George could have been doing something behind our backs that he didn't want us to worry about. I won't judge him for it if this is the case. Although he was known in the community, I know he went to the hotel instead of staying with someone he knew or going home because he wouldn't put others in danger as a consequence of his own decisions.

I do wonder what LE saw and wish he could have possibly intervened. I'm sure LE has an idea. I hope his fiancee can find peace in all this over time.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that anything that comes to light regarding George doesn't tarnish or diminish any good memories that you have of him.

Just an update: I can tell you the investigation's far from over. Justice will be served when truths come to light.

I am so sorry for your loss, notanextrovert!
I hope justice will be served, George seemed like and nice and humble man.

So are you saying that Uber was lying? Uber claims he hadn't driven for them in weeks. Lyft says he never registered as a driver.
Uber keeps extensive records so if he was driving that night, they should 100% be able to plainly see it.
If they have lied, I would contact an attorney.
