They claimed to have gone door to door and ask to look in peoples sheds and backyards... they claim to have searched some of the nearby vacant buildings.. again claim... we were told it would be a 3 day search..they searched a few hours.. we were then told they would come out again and look in a few days..its been a week..and now we find out their dogs are not even certified that they used....what a crock of *****

Hypothermia is such a good point. That will affect the most stable of beings.

Also could have taken him well off the expected route.

I couldn't find any good info on how long it takes for body temps to drop except for water submersions.

So since he didn't have a jacket, is fairly lean in body fat, may have been outside for a few minutes before the PD arrived, and had been drinking I can't guess how long it would take for his temp to drop a few degrees. It seems like a possible scenario to change his behavior on the walk home though.

The weather channel said the high was 50 and the low 36 that day but I couldn't find the hourly temps.

Did any of the FB comments or anything mention him shivering?

I don't mean to fire off questions at you JessicaH so when you can get to it, I'm just curious:

The local PD did the search? Any dashcam video?

Can NJSP be involved?

What about putting flyers on the poles withing a mile or so radius of the bar?

We absolutely think woods or water is possible. We have mixed stories.. search and rescue did NOT get into the water and search for him in the lakes like we were told before. We want them to search bottom lake and silver lake

Jessica, I am so sorry you still don't have an answer. I can't even begin to imagine what you must be going through.

I feel strongly that the lakes need to be searched ASAP and thoroughly before they completely freeze over for winter.

Is either of the lakes you mentioned the one that's behind the woods, very close to the tavern, not even a quarter mile away (distance based on Google Maps)? Even if Lance didn't fall in accidentally, he could have been put in there by someone else (I hate to even write this ... I am so very sorry).

If you are having a hard time getting the authorities to help, you may even want to go out there yourself (please be very careful, and always make sure to bring someone with you) and start looking. Growing up, my father taught HS. One night, one of his students went out drinking, took a cab home, was dropped off in front of his parents' house, but rather than to go inside, he was quite inebriated and presumably started wandering around. The following morning, when his dad realized his son was nowhere to be found, he went straight to an irrigation ditch that was just yards away from their front door, and found him there.

I really, really hope that Lance is somewhere out there, being taken care of. Have you checked with area hospitals to see if they have admitted anyone who hasn't been able to identify himself, possibly due to head trauma, acute mental health crisis, etc.? I have seen a couple of cases in recent months where this happened (in one case, the man was missing for a little over two weeks, and the entire time, he was at Bellevue).

I think anyone questioned about Lance that said they do not know anything about what happened and it is found out they did know should face obstruction charges.
This young man needs to be found and shame on anyone for not stepping forward if they do know.

The SAR team came out but we found out their dogs were not certified... they had 6 people show up for the search.. claimed to have done the entire Clementon area in a few short hours.. we were told they searched the lakes and found out they didn't... several searches have been done in the woods by the bar (even though he did not go this direction) and over by bottoms lake and silver lake since this is the area he was seen headed to Clementon Park

I do not live in New Jersey I am located in VA so it's not real possible for me to get out. My mom is in Philly and has been out several times searching along with other volunteers

Best advice I can give you would be to make a FB page for him if you haven't done it yet. Its the best way to keep current info out there and makes it easier to share his flier. Also look for missing veteran FB pages, they'll gladly share his flier/ page. 1st military page to stop at would be veteran Doe; link below

For a SAR dog, the best one in NJ was the one that found Autumn Pasqualle a few years ago; I may have their info somewhere.

Praying your brother is found

I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through, this is so sad and tragic and based on what you have described it seems like prior searches done by trained individuals weren't exactly thorough. I live right outside of philly and my husband is from wash twp in Jersey. He is also a veteran and was a police officer for ten years. He was very involved in volunteer firefighting and still is good friends with many of the guys at his old station in jersey. When he gets home from work tonight I will fill him in on your brothers disappearance and see if he knows of anyone who might be able to help that knows the area in which your brother went missing. I will post back later after I speak with him, I can't promise he will know of anyone but it's worth a try for me to ask. Thinking and praying for you. There's nothing anyone can say that will make you feel better but just know that people care and are holding you all in our thoughts.

Clementon Park & Splash World has a website with contact info. It may be a good idea to ask the park to have one of its maintenance people do a search in there since it was close by. Even if the PD checked it they likely wouldn't know/have access to all the buildings like the employees would.

From the article: "James does not own a car, so he left on foot and was later seen on surveillance video about a block from his apartment, it says." (BBM)
I didn't realize that Lance was so close to home until now. Now I really would like to know where he was caught on camera and where his apartment is located.

I wish someone would have at least made sure Lance had his jacket and phone before sending him home.

Good to hear that State Police is involved now.

I saw a report on Lance on the Fox 29 10:00 news last night. They just rehashed information we already know, but it's nice to see the case getting MSM attention.

Can you tell us where his apartment was located? Also how close were his roommates to him. Could he have really made it home and something happened there and that's why the roommates changed the story. I'm worried he might have a concussion or had a serious injury but didn't realize it at first.

'18 days and nothing at all,' family of missing U.S. Marine says By Greg Adomaitis on December 20, 2016 at 3:50 PM, updated December 20, 2016 at 4:43 PM

James went to the Hide-A-Way Tavern on Dec. 2 and left after getting into an altercation with another patron that night. He was escorted out -- sans jacket and cell phone, family said -- and Clementon police suggested he head home. James, who doesn't own a vehicle, left the bar near the White Horse Pike and headed off toward his home near Clementon Park.

Hassan said that surveillance video footage revealed he was within a block of his home. He hasn't been into work nor called out of any shifts, family previously said.

New Jersey State Police are now leading a search of three area lakes for possible clues.

There's a few comments on the article, why didn't LE give him a ride home?
Have yards of homes between where he was seen on video and his place been checked?
So thankful his story is in the news.

A few thoughts from looking at the map -

There is a house north of Mossbarger Racing Products with a swimming pool. I am not sure of his supposed route or where he was seen on the camera last, but if he was cutting through yards he could have fallen in a situation like that. You'd think property owners would have all checked their yards by now but we've heard stranger.

The overview maps make this look like it is a really long walk but that is because the "lakes" are deceiving - they appear to be more like large ponds and rather shallow. If there is any suspicion that he was dumped into water, Rowand Lake and that entire marshy area be searched before it freezes over.

My final thought is Trout Run - how steep are the banks? Could he have stumbled and fallen in? How much evidence is there of his actual route and does it even look like he could have had an accident on his initial trip? One block away sounds to me like he made it home and something happened after that.

Also the Clementon Police Department is smack in the middle of it all, literally and figuratively.

For sure this. You can just visit the FB page for the tavern and see people are talking and mentioning that posts were removed from that page. You should do this right away before people start shutting up.

Yes, has Trout Run been searched, and specifically, the area between "Hair Works" and the PD building? https://goo.gl/maps/d8p2kV8MxjK2

But then that spot appears to be more than a block away from his apartment .... I wish we knew where he was caught on camera; that would help tremendously in figuring out where where to find Lance, IMO.
