NJ - Mystery drones seen nightly

"Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan reported Friday that dozens of large drones were in the sky above his house in Davidsonville, Maryland, 25 miles from Washington."

It is being reported that one of the drones that don't exist has fallen to the ground. stay tuned.
Is it this one:

"HILLSBOROUGH — Reports of a drone crashing near power lines Thursday night turned out to be nothing, according to police....
Rumors of drone crashes are regularly posted on social media but none have been found.

someone stated up thread… but it’s incredibly insulting that DHS wants to try to gaslight people into thinking they simply don’t know the difference between regular airplanes and unidentified craft. This argument seems to be getting more impossible as more and more military officials, politicians, etc come out to discuss. IMO MOO

I'm wondering if some drones are indeed "something," but others are jokesters thinking they are funny by flying drones at night, so now there is a mix? idk

If actual drones are above military bases in the US, and they are not being shot down, then it must be military drones. Super advanced high tech US military drones, practicing defensive maneuvers over areas that might be targeted in an attacked.
It almost positively has to be our military, but what the heck? Just be honest and tell the American people. It's not like they're a secret, after all.

But 'telling the American people' would be essentially telling the world. The fact that they exist isn't a secret, but what exactly they're up to obviously is (and apparently a big one). As maddening as the situation is, it does make some sense. jmo

Why would the U.S. military test drones in residential areas, if that's what they are? To be more thorough regarding the challenges? (Really asking for any theories.)

My theory is that there are multiple sources for these drones: some that do concern our government, some that are actually in response to the concerning ones, some that are being tested by our military, and many from the public, being copy-cats. And some of the videos being shared online are hoaxes. But all JMO.

I agree.

But for those that are copycat/hobbyists, they are violating FAA rules about flying at night so there should be a way to eliminate at least that category.

(I learned they are violating the FAA rules from the Staten Island presser posted upthread. It's a long presser but actually good.)

A drone has crashed into the ground in New Jersey amid repeated reported sightings of the unmanned flying devices along the East Coast, according to local law enforcement.
