I'm wondering if it might be Musk or some other entity that is putting up satelights.
I live in the desert and when it's dark I can see lights in the sky that aren't stars. They're actually in a string of sorts. My adult children told me they think it's a satalight system.
But that begs the question, why not just say that's what it is? That wouldn't need to be a secret IMO.

I don't think they are high in the sky in NJ. One man said that a helicopter flew OVER them (in video linked upthread) so they aren't that high.

My spouse and I were recently in Denver, Co (last weekend) and saw this same exact thing! I took a video of it, because it was absolutely wild looking, and the neighbors were arguing over it being a UFO. I am unsure how to post a video here.

I am in New Mexico.

Over the last weekend, my daughter and I were driving just after 10PM.

We saw an object, that to me, looked like a flying Christmas tree. At that moment, I found it amusing.

I tried to explain this object to another family member, to whoms reaction was an eye roll. It made me question what my own memory may have been.

Well, the night before last, someone interviewed on the news spoke about seeing something that resembled a flying Christmas tree.

I believe that was in New Jersey.

What the heck????

That sounds like you are seeing the SpaceX Starlink launch and deploy. You'll see a string of satellites move across the sky. Those are clear up in space however, and well publicized when they are launching. These drones in NJ are something else entirely.

I totally agree with you Starry !!!
I keep telling my family the same thing.... why in the heck aren't we shooting them down ?/
According to news from Land Security, Government and State of NJ officials, they have NO idea where these are coming from

So shoot them down.
I would consider these a threat by now. JMO
If they don't what the drones are and what might be contained in them, it might be dangerous to shoot them? That's the only reason I can think why the drones aren't being shot out of the sky.

Can't they be followed somehow? They are being launched from somewhere and returned to somewhere.

The military can't shoot them down without them being a direct immediate threat or without orders from the President. But it is ridiculous that they, DHS and the FAA can't identify them. This is a bit similar to the Chinese spy balloon fiasco a couple years ago. The military just sitting there. I actually find it hard to believe that the military doesn't know what these are, they just aren't saying.

On New Jersey drones— new statement from Department of Homeland Security says: “it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft, operating lawfully. There are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted air space.”

I call BS. I personally saw a drone and checked my flight radar app. Absolutely NOTHING in the vicinity. They think we are fools!

Here is a tweet from the Homeland Security

Ahhh, the American government, old pros at the ‘Me or your lying eyes?’ argument.

I absolutely believe many of these sightings are misinformed, but I don’t believe all of them have been.

Edited to add: Heck, Mayorkas even says ‘many’ of the sightings are manned aircraft… hedging the fact that he knows/believes not *all* of them are manned aircraft. IMO MOO

Completely agree with you on that one. Lets be honest, there are only a few scenarios here:

1) You don't know what they are, and you don't know if they pose a threat.
2) You do know what they are, and they don't pose a threat.
3) You do know what they are, and they do pose a threat.

Ok, right…… seems the large ‘out’ or ambiguous piece in that message IMO is the last portion of the second paragraph:

“There are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted air space.

IMO have to wonder if a Peterbilt 379 with a 53’ foot trailer could be driven through that ambiguous statement. MOO

This would be laughable if the situation wasn’t so serious.
So, we are supposed to believe that the good people of NJ, having lived in their state for years, seeing lights from planes come and go, suddenly start believing these lights are something they’ve never seen before, and devolve into a mass delusion of drones, night after night.
Once again, the powers that be think we are idiots and they can tell us anything and we’ll believe it.
Methinks they are wrong about us.

Story time...

This past May I was camping in Joshua Tree National forest. My wife and I were spotting satellites, and we started seeing 2 larger objects that we were pretty sure were drones. (More fun to think they were aliens, but no) We watched them, they at least appeared to be large and extremely agile. For lack of a better term, they kind of looked like they were dancing. They were Moving together, and away from each other...

They then zipped away at a very good clip toward 29 Palms. The largest Marine base in the world is in 29 Palms. So it's possible that these are some kind of new technology. I'm just not sure why they would be flying them over New Jersey? We have a lot of open space here in the US, and places like Area 51.

In any case, the DHS statement is a joke. (IMO)

Clearly this administration believes playing naive or trying to keep us naive is their best policy. I fear someone is going to take matters into their own hands and shoot one of these drones down. It's pretty terrifying to think that they are flying over peoples homes, businesses, communities and we don't know who they are or what they are doing! Dang.

I agree it would be great to know what's (really) going on with those things, but there are two good reasons not to shoot one down:
*It's a federal offense to fire anything  at anything aerially (I believe that was mentioned earlier)
*These are apparently sizable drones flying low in residential areas. Who knows what impact the potential debris would have on peoples' property (read "lawsuit") jmo

They're messing with our minds, that's what they're doing (and doing a pretty good job).
