I was wondering if it was an ankh.
It was popular for a while.

Other options could be a band name/shortened name?Friendship necklace?

They say half a letter? If the bottom part is broken off it could be a J, I,or L?

Hmmm....I wondered if it could simply be a cross, but it looks a bit unusual for one? I increased the size, which caused a great deal of pixelation, but this could be many other things.

Some common girls names that with the letter T based off her necklace with the letter T on it:

Tabitha

Tersesa

Trish or Tricia

Trinity

Tamara

Tracy

Tory

Tina

Tiffany

Tia

Tessa

Tanya

Tammy

Taryn

I based these names maybe of popular girl names that were Gen X to maybe mid Baby Boomer back then in my opinion. I found interesting that she was wearing jeans with a blouse. Isn't unusual to be wearing both jeans and a blouse? She was wearing a lot of jewelry as well with 3 necklaces, 1 ring, and 1 bracelet. I wonder if she went to mainly once place to purchase her jewelry since she was wearing alot of jewelry.

Maybe the victim was originally a runaway who wanted a new start in life since nobody in the area ID'D her right after she was discovered deceased. I'm thinking she was originally from NYC or Northern Jersey.

Could she be Pamela Harvey Rousseau from Ontario, Canada? I see some resemblance in the face, particularly the nose, but I am new to this so could be just seeing things. I think the height, weight, and dates match up. She is also thought to have been fleeing an Ontario biker gang when she disappeared, so I don't think it's unrealistic to think that she might have ended up in the US.

That little charm looks like it might be a hatchet charm...

Found a news story noting the $27 was actually stuffed in one of her shoes. And they also note she was wearing a chain with a metal military-style dog tag. Article says they checked military records, and also contacted Interpol because of the "Copenhagen" on her shirt. No ID of any kind on her? She sounds like she'd be very young, but the article says 20-30 yo. Zena jeans in the 80s were "a thing," so she had money. Cash in her shoe and a comb in her sock, she was somewhere/doing something where she couldn't bring a purse, which usually isn't bowling. And you would think a club with all the jewelry, but she had no IDs on her, and if she had money and the comb in her sock/shoes, she has no purse with her, I would think. Was she someone from out of town visiting someone locally who told her he'd get her into a club or taking her out on a date? Was she maybe going out to hang out at a beach with someone or some group? There's a hotel nearby, the Crystal Inn Neptune, seeing it was built in 1964. Was she maybe staying there? I wonder if LE wasn't right to contact Interpol on the Denmark tag because it's extremely common to go braless in Denmark v the US, and she had no bra. I know they checked for missing persons from Denmark, but Europeans travel widely across multiple European nations by train, it's very common, so she may not have been from Denmark, but elsewhere in Europe.

Her sketch looks a little like Leidy Kaspersma, a Dutch national who went missing from Ireland in 1978. Sources online noted her relationship with her boyfriend was ending and she had been making plans on what to do next. The boyfriend eventually moved to Lebanon and he is not considered trustworthy by many associated with her. Based on what I'm seeing, she would have traveled pretty extensively in her lifetime and had already worked for a time as a nanny in Dallas. Her general appearance and height match, and she had auburn hair. She was fluent in multiple languages. And Neptune NJ is a stone's throw to Spring Lake Borough nicknamed "the Irish Riviera" because of the number of Irish-Americans there. Not saying it IS her, but it may be someone similar to her: a young European with an extensive travel history. Could also be someone locally in NJ that just happened to have the clothing with this tag. I know a model was noted on here, maybe she got the article of clothing in the course of a modeling gig.

@snooptroop88 If we think about a "Norse" angle, possible it may be a Mjölnir (hammer) as well. Hmm. I haven't looked at this case in a few years. The way it seems attached could be possible, especially if the cord was broken, and it was tied back on in a hurry? i.e. upside down?

re: dark blouse with gold threads marked "Coppenhagen" (Size Large)

This confuses me re-reading. Was she wearing a t-shirt from the cigarette company? Or was this a dressier blouse and that was the brand in the label? Does anyone know?

Also, the shoes being marked size 7.5 seems to indicate US, as they do not state otherwise? Of course someone from outside the US could have come here and bought a pair of casual shoes easily enough, but this also stands out to me re-reading. i.e. they did not state "size 38 shoes", for example.

I was dismissing the Copenhagen thing at first, too, for the exact reason you give on the cigarettes. European names and places are a part of American culture, the "Copenhagen" wouldn't necessarily mean you know, actual Denmark. But if LE actually went to Interpol, and it appears they did, then I did figure that label indicated an article of clothing from overseas.

On these hatchet charms, I'm seeing them with the chain loop in different positions depending on the charm. Some have it on top, on the bottom, on the side.

It's just bizarre to me, as "Coppenhagen" isn't the Danish spelling. I've been there many times. It's København. In Dutch,in reference to the young woman you suggested, it is Kopenhagen.

I'm assuming this is a typo of some kind in the report, but it's just weird to me. Would be really nice to know if it is a t-shirt with the word on it in gold thread or something else. The description is not helpful, IMO. It almost feels like they were desperate for any info so thought "Hey, that's the capital of Denmark, let's see....."

I could also see a tourist picking up and wearing a t-shirt from Denmark in that era too, just like now. Searching for vintage clothing with a "Coppenhagen" or other spelling variations branding isn't giving me much so far.

Other languages for Copenhagen:

København

  1. Copenhagen (the capital city of Denmark)

European clothing sizes also more often would have numerical sizing. So the top would more likely have had a tag saying it was size 39 or 40 instead of size Large.
