Police located Samuel's truck where his family says it is often parked, still loaded with fishing and crabbing gear on West Newcastle Road.

“His cooler isn’t even on the beach. If he’d gone crabbing and got swept away, he would have left things onshore,” Samantha told FOX 29.

Samuel is described as 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a button-down shirt and waders.

Somers Point man missing after going fishing Saturday - BreakingAC
A Somers Point man is missing after he went to go fishing in Ocean City.
Sam DeLarso, 53, left his home some time between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday, his daughter, Samantha DeLarso, told BreakingAC.
“He was going to grab bait so we could all go fishing yesterday afternoon,” she said.
Her father has a bad back and takes medication, and can usually last only a few hours out, she said.
“This is very out of the ordinary,” DeLarso said.
She called police, hospitals and even the jail with no luck.
Authorities are aware, and the family has spoken with an Ocean City detective and members of the Coast Guard.
His truck was found on Ocean City’s northend beach.
A tow truck company opened it, and they found his phone and fishing rods inside, but his crabbing bucket was missing.
If he was crabbing, Sam DeLarso would have had on a belt that a net hooks to along with his waders and been in waist-deep water.
Sam DeLarso is described as 6-foot-2, weighing about 190 pounds.
He is a “super tan” avid fisherman with a diamond earring in his left hear, a thick silver chain with a fishing hook and a black watch on his left wrist. He has no tattoos.
He also always has sunglasses on a lanyard around his neck.
The truck is being kept where it was found “in case it turns into a crime scene,” his daughter said.
The family has called all his fishing buddies along with “anyone whose boat we’ve ever been on,” but no one has seen or heard from him, Samantha DeLarso said.
Anyone who has seen him or has any information is asked to call police.

I wonder what medication he is taking for his bad back-perhaps it could impair his judgement.

"It appears he entered the water and never came out," Detective Sgt. Stephen Sullivan said by phone Tuesday afternoon.

Missing crabber DeLarso experienced waterman

DeLarso said authorities have video surveillance of her father’s truck crossing the bridge at 5:31 a.m. and parking at the base of the Ocean City-Longport Bridge.

“A man who reached out said he was driving his truck on the beach between 7 and 8 a.m. and saw a man crabbing alone. He didn’t seem in distress,” DeLarso said.

She said surveillance video shows a truck leaving the beach at 8:30 a.m. Police believe that truck was driven by the person who reported seeing her father, and they were trying to determine who that was.

SNIP

The family asked people to be on the lookout for items that DeLarso had on him, including a black hard cigarette pack, a headlamp, black batting gloves, crab nets — which she described as having 1-pound in the shape of a horseshoe with a rectangle at the bottom and a carabiner hook at end to hook onto a belt — a 2.5-gallon white bucket with holes drilled in the sides and bottom with a strap, a Zippo lighter — either silver with a silver dime welded to the front or silver with a picture of a fish on it — a silver ring with copper coils wrapped around it and a necklace made of about 20 to 30 small key rings with a hook charm, and sunglasses with a cloth strap.

Anyone who finds any of these items is asked to contact the family at (609) 992-3103 or the Ocean City Police Department at (609) 399-9111.
