Mario:
Fish they sell at the grocery store are called: FISH.

He makes it sound like "Dead Fish" is something gross. LOL.
Maybe the Gregors would have found it less "bump it up" offensive if Bre had tossed live fish at their home?

Hey, Mario, people grieve differently. And sometimes grief comes out as anger. Dead fish and ham hocks, while unpleasant, is mild, considering she'd just lost her baby and wasn't even able to stroke his hair, hold his hand, cradle him one last time.

I'd be angry too.

Live. Jury present.

Judge says jury instructions might be tomorrow.

Judge adding these lesser charges, negligent manslaughter.... and... I missed the other....

  • #324
State opens saying Corey loved the solar system....

Says Corey was punished by CG for Bre returning him two and 14 hours late....

  • #325
State says the video shows endangerment...

State doesn't have to show he was injured for the charge, but the State CAN prove injury --

Contussions under the scalp....

Too bad for the juror who wanted to attend a wedding on Thursday, iirc.

  • #327
State attributes the sigh to Bre, thinking CG want home because his car wasn't there.

State lays down that this was no ruse....

I think that was for Friday.

Maybe the Judge, upon further reflection, will grant a three day weekend to accommodate that.

State is explaining that the jury can use the video to look at the defendant's motive.

The State is not saying that Corey died from the treadmill but rather it shows CG's motive -- defendant's is angry, at Bre and the situation.

State shows his text messages.

"This is pi$$ing me off, my entire plans for today are ruined".

Video outside the gym. Doesn't greet Corey. Sends him directly to the treadmill.

Corey knows how to turn it on. "What's that tell you?' (He's been punished that way before.)

CG is swearing, hands fisted. He's enraged.

(In the courtroom, CG is grimacing, sitting up stiff, sneering. Angry.)

CG has raised the incline and the speed. State says he expects Corey to fall.

State says CG holds up 2 fingers, so Corey knows he's being punished for being two hours late.

Corey falls, CG offers no comfort, holds him over a moving treadmill.

State is walking through the stills of the video. Smiling as he puts Corey on a moving treadmill.

Shows CG biting Corey's head. (Heartbreaking)

What kind of father would do this?

Audible crying from the gallery.

Corey falls a second and third time. Corey facedown on the treadmill, Corey looks up at his father....

Corey falls a fourth time, a fifth time....

His father has no regard for him.

Corey falls a 6th time, Corey is more afraid of his father than getting back on the treadmill...

CG continues to yell at him.

.(Are CG's parents looking at these photos? If this doesn't bring them to their knees....)

MOO

CG's dad looks pensive. I hope these images are shocking him in the gut. HE can take it. Corey couldn't.

MOO

State us reviewing the charge of endangerment. Abuse and neglect. Has a legal duty to exercise care.

Very effective closing argument so far IMO

State is showing that CG kept Corey home from school (March 26) to hide him. Internet search, will red marks turn into bruises (March 25)

Teachers notice bruises.... so CG keeps him out of school.

Flag football didn't abuse Corey.

State hits on Corey being too afraid to say anything.

Corey, still out of school. Bre is concerned. Files emergency order. Takes him to the pediatrician, then the other medical facilities.

No symptoms of pneumonia, but notes bruises. Contacts CPC.

CG cancels CPC eval.

  • #335
State shows texts -- CG said he couldn't take off work for a CPC evaluation but his next text is about taking the day off.

State: CG doesn't care for Corey. CG only cares for CG.

Bre was not granted immediate/emergency custody. Judge didn't see the treadmill video.

CG doesn't want Corey to be seen by doctors, is afraid Corey will talk.

Bre is under pressure from CG. She's taking Corey to the medical facility, CG threatening her about going over her visitation time.

  • #337
State shows CG's phone log -- searches --

Search for phone numbers. For police abd hospital.

Texts to Marci.

Texts to Laura.

Texts Aimee.

Calls the police.

State asks: Why is he doing this? He is afraid of what doctors are going to see, what Corey might say.

State: he gaslights, manipulates, this is what he does.

I wonder if Corey kept nervously saying Dad will be mad…knowing he would be the one punished.

State says CG goes to sleep, doesn't care about Corey.

He doesn't go to the hospital.

Bre tells him she'll bring him as soon as they're done, stay up.

Now the State is describing Corey's admission to the ER, thorough exam.

State, no evidence that Corey was sick or injured when Bre returned him to CG the next morning
