Today I came across this UP.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

There is not much information on the decedent appearance-wise. What is known, is that they were found on May 7, 2016 in Lordsburg. While the gender is not stated in the info, the description mentioned that LE had spoken to "him" shortly before Christmas 2015.

What is extremly telling about this case, is the decedent's clothes.

Original (27).jpg

As you can see the name "Jason" and "The Rockville Valley Fertilizer Company" can be easily read.

Imagine my surprise when it took me all of three minutes to figure out the company was in Hershey, PA and the owner Jason Christopher Shandor has been missing since October 2015.

Jason Christopher Shandor - Pennsylvania Missing Person Directory

I sent an email to the Lordsburg PD and am waiting for their response. (Can't call, I live in Europe.) It seems almost to easy to be true. I wanted to open this thread anyway, to keep you posted if this is a case of a forgotten removal of an entry.

P.S.: Yes, I am aware of the fb post of Jason's brother looking for him but did not want to link it.

This case seems peculiar.

I wonder how many people named Jason worked there and, which one either threw out or donated, a jacket? Did the man state his name really was Jason? Did the Western Auto store really have an order from him and what name did he use? Are we talking about a bicycle tire tube or a motorcycle tire tube? I know next to nothing about parts so if I’m way off base, oops.

Circumstances of Recovery
A couple traveling home through Lordsburg, stopped west of the arroyo in an empty lot by 900 West Motel Drive to let their dog urinate. The dog was exploring and found a body in the arroyo. Officers had contact with decedent around the middle of December to December 23, 2015. Officers stated decedent said he was waiting for a bike tube he had ordered from Western Auto. Once he received the tube he would be on his way. Officers also stated that decedent was positioned in the same position as when they spoke to him in December. Identity unknown.

This is all super weird, guys. I think Mr. Shandor might even be back. There is no namus entry for him anymore.

I also saw that he has published some sort of religous book. I can't find the publication date yet, but I think it was recent. But the bio says:

Jason Christopher Shandor is a former business owner and amateur Archeologist originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, who claims that he had "Signs from God" on top of a mountain in northern Pennsylvania, and has now revealed several mind-blowing and shocking Brand New Biblical Discoveries, KJV, never seen before by the Human Race until now!

I'm 100% sure the uniform belonged to him, but how did it end up on a dead guy guy in NM?

Maybe when the real owner went temporarily AWOL he donated his wordly possessions.

Okay, how in the world is so little known about this Doe with witnesses?

Am I understanding: in December 2015 police saw him sitting or lying in or near the arroyo, questioned him, and he said he was waiting for a bike tube. The police left. In May 2016, he was found deceased in the arroyo. Police somehow remember talking to him 5 months prior in the same location, sitting or lying down in the same position he was found in, but there's no estimate of his age, race, hair color, height, weight. Why no details? Was he homeless and often hung out in the area? :(

The patch of hair on the shirt makes me wonder whether Jacob Rogers is this UID. His pics show a rather long, multi-colored (dyed blue at one time) goatee. The hair on JD's shirt also appears multi-colored and long as if it could have come from Jacob and it's positioned as if it was near JD's chin. Jacob went missing from PA while supposedly boarding a train to WV. Could Jacob have gotten the shirt at a thrift shop in or near Philly or Hershey, PA? The names Jason and Jacob are similar enough that maybe he got a chuckle out of it and decided that would be his new name? He could have made his way to NM after leaving PA. Of course, all of this is speculation/MOO.

Quote RSBM. @YaYa_521 Do you feel comfortable submitting that to NamUs or LE? I think it's worth a shot. It's interesting that the hair is there yet not mentioned.

I'm also requesting a date be added to the title thread. Found on May 7, 2016.

I found a facebook page under the name Jason Christopher Shandor with a Port Orford, Oregon P.O. Box address and an Oregon phone number listed. It was created recently on Septemeber 19, 2020. There are also several photos posted, which do look like an older Jason with an unkempt beard. Assuming it is truly him, it seems he settled in Oregon after moving around the country for at least a few months after he was last seem. His book looks to be a "self published" title about supposed Ancient Pyramids in Oregon. Since he's already been ruled out, it definitely seems this is a case where he he let go of his "past life's" possessions on his way west.

Jason Christopher Shandor

There is even a post where he addresses his friends and family back in Pennsylvania:
Hello My Friends: My name is Jason Christopher Shandor of Hershey, Pennsylvania! I have discovered several Ancient Pyramids and other Ancient Archeological Structures here on the Oregon Coast! Please visit my Free Website to see the Pyramids!
Hello Hershey, Hummelstown, Palmyra, Marysville, Forksville, Pennsylvania- Yea, it's me! That crazy kid. I really miss all of you! It has been a while! I did Publish a Book- You'll see it on www.oregonpyramids.com
The Pacific if Awesome, and the Ancient Archeology has remained unseen, until now- And I Praise God for that, who led me step by step, and eventually did allow me to see these things! And now, I bring unto you: The Creation Point: The Oceanhenge of the Zodiac! Email me anytime, My Friends- [email protected]
Your Friend,
Jason Christopher Shandor"

Maybe Mr. Shandor has a very good explanation how his shirt/jacket? ended up on this John Doe. Maybe it was an immigrant or a fellow traveler and he just gave it to him during his traveling. Or maybe he wanted to get rid of the shirt, while missing and not wanted to be found, because his name and business were on it.

Are there more rule outs in Namus?

Something is very odd about all this....I don't know what though.

This case is indeed odd, but not because of the Jason and business name on the jacket IMO
- The jacket was viewable (picture is there) why not a picture with the reflecting yellow stripes....I would think this especially could trigger someones memory.
- Race and sex are unsure, but they refer to the UID as a he...officers talked to him...no memory about what he looked like (race, age approx.)? but a confirmation that he has been seen and spoken too...seems strange to me, but it's possible.
- Found in the same spot, even the same position. That's weird...he was there for months.
- There are other items (picture in the Namus file), but no description. I see some kind of paper with hearts and what looks like writing.
- Tennis shoes....what kind of tennis shoes (color, brand?)
- No autopsy done?....why don't they at least know the basics. But they ruled out Mr. Shandor, so maybe they had an identifier.... or did they get to it when he already had turned up. An easy rule out, so to say.

Or is it the other way around and this John Doe is "lucky" to be in Namus at all and there was an angel who wanted to do something for him. Don't want to "dis" LE/coroner (I don't have insight in the workload nor the resources)
but IMO they could have done a better job.

IMO they could have done a better job

Quote RSBM.

I tend toward agreeing. I also don't want to be rude to the people who worked the case, but did they have to do a basic autopsy just in case he was a crime victim? Maybe there is basically no budget but isn't it unusual they couldn't estimate height, tell male or female, or approximate age group within a few decades? (Aren't all of those usually possible with full skeletal remains?)

So...the police saw this guy sitting in an arroyo (from what i can see is a man-made creek for run-0ff water) who was waiting for a package (I highly doubt that Western Auto delivers to arroyos), and this man happens to die in this very position maybe on the very same day? Or did he regularly sit in this arroyo? And half a year later, there hadn't been enough water moving through the arroyo to move the body along at all? Very, very weird, I feel like something might have been lost in translation on this NamUs file.
wrt the shirt, I don't know how big the Rockville Valley Fertilizer Company was but there could have been multiple employees named Jason who received an embroidered staff shirt.
This guy on the surface doesn't seem homeless or like a transient, he's dressed like a...construction worker in his reflective jacket, black pants, and active shoes (though they're not steel-toed boots), hes got a screwdriver and honestly a nice watch (couldn't find any G shock watches under 130$). This is so weird!

Also want to add that the Rockville Valley Fertilizer Company is no longer in business; its address upon licensing was 355 West Chocolate Ave Hershey PA 17033, and this is now occupied by a quaint little motel (though some reviews say it's smelly). Don't know how long the motel has occupied this location but it's first online reviews were in 2009.

What in the world could have happened to "them"? Maybe he was standing in the arroyo for too long?
