My bolding.
In a news release sent out on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s office said the FBI is taking over the case: “Based on the location of the area in which the child went missing and any alleged crimes may have occurred, which appear to be within the boundaries of Santa Clara Pueblo, and the child’s affiliation with the Pueblo.”
FBI takes over investigation into Española girl’s death
All my bolding.
This may answer my earlier question where I asked if Renezmae was Native American. It hasn't been specifically stated in msm but the U.S. Attorney's statement I bolded above seems to imply that she was connected to the Santa Clara Pueblo. It may not matter, I'm just curious since Federal involvement sometimes means information will be slow in coming.

Renezmae attended Eutimio "Tim" Salazar III Fairview Elementary School, which according to Google Maps is not part of Santa Clara Pueblo, nor is the area she went missing from - msm said near the intersection of South McCurdy Rd. and Tesuque Drive. Torres' home was reported to be on Arch Rd., which is in that same area.

So apart from Renezmae's body being found on the Santa Clara Pueblo is the FBI also saying she was affiliated with the tribe?

I'm so confused! Heck, I still don't know if Torres and Renezmae's mother were living together. Msm reports are all over the place.
Well, don't feel alone; I share in your confusion. I have no idea what her affiliation with the pueblo may be but I would like to know as well.

I can say that I think VM and MT were living separately. and I base that on the statement made by the Special Agent in Charge that they searched within a 1/2 mile of both homes. That's what I'm going with this five minutes, anyway. MOO

Rachel Knapp on Twitter
Renezmae Calzada’s schoolmates wrote her letters and created a banner, saying they love her. The kindergartener’s body was found yesterday in the Rio Grande. ⁦@krqe

Please everyone, watch over this little girl. My daddy just died. I’ll be out.
So, so sad to hear about your dad, imstilla.grandma. It puts a new hole in your heart when that happens. Many of us here know that already, I'm sure. It hurts, but remembering the good times helps a lot.
We'll be thinking of you and your family.
Much love to you.

Not likely during the day on any of those bridges.

Thanks. :) So, those bridges have a lot of day traffic then?

Maybe at night then....

I imagine it could be done really quickly. Really all you’d need is probably a minute or two...

ETA: Actually, didn't you say there hasn’t been much rain though and it’s been “poquito” right? So maybe not...

We need a flow chart, everything we can get on the Rio as far as recent conditions data, moo.

In court, Renezmae's mom had petitioned 'to see my children'
[...]

Maestas’s petition asks that custody of Renezmae and another child be shared 50-50 with Malcolm Torres, who has been a boyfriend of Maestas and was taken into custody a few hours after Renezmae’s disappearance was reported to law enforcement authorities.

[...]

Maestas’s Aug. 7 court filing in state District Court doesn’t make clear what custody arrangement, if any, existed between herself and Torres at the time.

Maestas asked in the filing, “To let me see my children until something is decided. I would like to have them 50% of the time or can have full custody until then.”

[...]

The other child cited in the petition is one-year-old [NAME REDACTED], who does not have the same last name as Torres. The petition says that Torres has acknowledged parentage of both children with the state Department of Vital Statistics, although police have said that Renezmae’s biological father lives in southern New Mexico.

Last Halloween, Torres was arrested after he allegedly beat Maestas after accusing her of cheating on him. A State Police officer found Torres walking with the baby boy as the officer was responding to the domestic violence call.

According to a criminal complaint, Torres, who was reportedly drunk, told the officer, “They are not taking my son from me.”

I was looking at the site for the New Mexico Medical Examiner. I know in the case of Maleah Davis (Texas), we could check the status of her cause of death. Anything like that for New Mexico?
Death Certificates

This is what we had to refer to in Maleah's case. https://ifs.harriscountytx.gov/Pages/CaseStatus.aspx

We were able to see follow the entire process from the time her remains were received at the coroner's office to when her body was released to family.

Unfortunately, NM doesn't seem to have this kind of tool. MOO

So many paternity questions.

@imstilla.grandma I also want to say I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I’m thinking of you and your family.

Test

(Yeah that didn’t work. Trying to bring over some “Government images” from a water flow data site....Seems they don’t allow you to copy and paste their images. Same with the FBI site, iirc.)

Oh well. We’ll have answers soon enough, not that we are entitled to them necessarily now that LE is had there is no danger to the public.

I imagine the community wants to know.

It’s an ongoing investigation, all that stuff. We know the drill here.

Patience.

Is there riverbank access near where she was found? I have only seen that river once and it was from a giant bridge over a giant ravine.

Say what? Torres acknowledged that he was Renezmae's father but LE says her bio father lives in southern NM? How can that be? I get that Torres could have had himself put on her birth certificate as her father but why then was msm calling him her stepfather? And who is the person in southern NM?

My head is gonna explode any minute...

All 3 bridges always have traffic all day and evening, even on weekends. There is no way to stop, jump out, throw something over and not be seen. However, I do think she was placed in the river somewhere North of the Santa Clara Bridge and probably even North of the "Old Bridge" which is maybe a couple of football field's length from the SCB.

(I checked those sites for river-flow too and couldn't make heads or tales of it.)

I'm familiar with bio, step, adoptive, boyfriend, etc. but I've never heard of "Acknowledged Father." News to me! o_O MOO

I know! I am so confused....had to read that paragraph three times to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.

Hopefully there are some foot impressions, tire tracks in this terrain alongside the river if it wasn’t a bridge dump and IF they’ve been able to determine her approx entry point which is plausible imo based on their recovery, moo.

This looks like a picture of the Santa Clara Bridge taken in the month of June, looking North. A glimpse of the "Old Bridge" can be seen in the background. This is a good representation of what the river looks like.

Thank you, AbbeyBabbey again. Marking.

Yes riverbank access. That is what I was referring to above. Perhaps we can see something on google satellite view.

Whatever the case she has been recovered and LE has this more than covered. I look forward to any and all updates.
