Prosecutor says they have to 2 more mistresses they plan to call

Mistress he had over to the house weeks after Tera's death
His current wife, Heather

Serna started speaking about Tera, then finally corrected himself to say Heather.

What an idiot, he can't even get the people's names right.

And then he took on Columbo's persona when he slapped himself in the forehead.

Judge will allow the state to have one more Chavez family member testify and 2 more of the defendant's mistresses.

Thank you! I surely didn't hear it.

When Serna mixed up Tera and Heather's name OMG that was so incredibly disrespectful to the Cordova family. Did the jury see that. Oh that was awful when I heard that. I pray for Heather it is not a foreshadowing of the future.

The jury had already been excused for the day.

:blushing: I originally wrote wrong family member last name. I corrected it above tho.

It will be one more member of Tera's family, Cordova family member.

I think the jury had already left for the day and they were arguing, out of their presence, about the upcoming witnesses for the state. The camera panned to Tera's parents and I couldn't help but notice how her mom was squeezing the dad's arm. So sad for them. Heather may not have any inkling of what's in store for herself. Or she may.

I'm usually not a negative person by nature but I am finding myself so upset and angry with Mr. McKay. He is losing excellent chances at every turn to whittle down so much testimony and he just won't do it. I think any of us on here could do as good a job as he's done.
Thanks CC, you're a sweetie!

I think most, if not all, of us feel the same way you do about McKay. I'm really starting to think he is being soft on purpose as if he doesn't want to p*ss off the police dept. :twocents:

I am beginning to feel the same way! This way it doesn't make APD look to bad.

Someone said earlier in the case that APD was under investigation. I don't remember who said that.

I agree that LC is a totally jerk but I am not sure the PT has provided enough evidence to convict him. :banghead:

Or for some odd reason he doesn't want to p*ss off Serna. I just don't get a fighting spirit out of him and that bothers me a lot. No passion, no anger, no nothing--just there to do a job--is my take on him. I'm still hoping we'll see a more assertive and aggressive side to him when the defense presents their case. I doubt it though but I'm hoping. At least a few objections now and then isn't too much to ask....and with the way Serna twists everything around a few objections should have already been hollered out, many times.

The APD is currently under investigation by the Justice Department for so many wrong-doings. I'll be happy when the investigation is finished and the results are released to the public. Somebody's pants should be on fire.

Here is the scoop on the investigation:

Justice Department Launches Investigation of the Albuquerque, N.M., Police Department’s Use of Force

The Justice Department announced today that it has opened a civil investigation into use of force by the city of Albuquerque, N.M., Police Department (APD). The investigation will focus on allegations that APD officers engage in use of excessive force, including use of unreasonable deadly force, in their encounters with civilians.

Through the investigation the department will seek to determine whether APD engages in a pattern or practice of use of excessive force in violation of the Constitution and federal law. The investigation will include a comprehensive review of the police department’s policies, training and systems of accountability. The investigation will also examine the police department’s engagement with the community and external oversight of officer-involved shootings and other force incidents.

Prior to the announcement, department officials met with Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry and APD Chief Ray Schultz, who pledged their full cooperation with the investigation.

The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 prohibits state and local governments from engaging in a pattern or practice of misconduct by law enforcement officers that deprives individuals of federally-protected rights. The department has conducted similar investigations into use of force by law enforcement agencies, both large and small, across the country.

Attorneys and staff from the Special Litigation Section of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division will conduct the investigation, assisted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico. Individuals who may have relevant information are encouraged to contact the department via email at [email protected] or by calling the department’s toll free number at 885-544-5134 which is available in both English and Spanish.

Additional information about the Civil Rights Division is available on its website at www.justice.gov/crt . Additional information about the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico is available on its website at www.justice.gov/usao/nm .

So the Justice Dept.'s investigation is not encompassing anything but use of force. Well, they don't have to dig very far to uncover a ton of other stuff, I wish it all could be investigated. I sent the story about the APD officers involved in a steroids ring thing the other day.

In my very early adult life, I was in law enforcement. Everything, no matter what, was collected as each time a crime scene or otherwise was investigated they did so with the idea that it was, indeed, a crime scene. The officers who initially investigated and collected crime scene evidence should have had the forethought to do everything as though it was a murder.

Right, but those responding took into account that LC was one of them, and that changed protocol I think.

You're right and he was saying from the moment he placed the 911 call that it was a suicide. I just wish he had left the scene entirely and the ones there had conducted their investigation including the evidence the same way they would have otherwise. But he had them all convinced, and maybe even now, that it was a suicide so that changed the game.

Sounds like a one night stand is on the stand now. This lady knew that his wife was dead. Did she know the details? Having sex in the dead wife's bedroom? ewwwww creepy and what does that say about the devoted, loving husband Levi Chavez?

Good Morning everyone. Late getting here just woke up. I need my coffee.

Is Serna wearing white shoes or socks? He's wearing a white jacket again going for the Matlock look or Col. Sanders.
