Yes but the jury does not know all of the back story.

I don't either. ..but I got the point after one question asking if he wanted to be here lol.

What does this guy Perera expect because he was the with a guy who possibly killed his wife and the blue line is very strong. It is not a normal situation. If you are a police officer and you lie IMO you should lose your job. Telling the truth to the best of your ability does not sound like telling the truth to me.

Why isn't SErna asking him explicitly what he was 'untruthful about'? He skipped right over the meat of the questioning other than Perea lost his job--but I think I read that he was re-hired.

Boy, it's a fine line, isn't it. 'To the best of your ability' allows a little leeway.

However according to the New Mexico press Perera did not get his job back bc he was truthful but because the personal board did not follow the correct procedure in firing him. That is a HUGE difference.

He did loose his job in 2011 over this case. He is trying to get himself reinstated still...........which is why he wanted immunity to testify.

Maybe...maybe not. I need to hear more. Could be nothing more than semantics.

Hmmmm, that makes a huge difference. I just want Perea to tell the truth about exactly what happened that night and about logging in the evidence.

It is a big back story, Perera did lie during his deposition and he was fired, there is much more to it and I will post some links. Perera wanted to take the fifth in this trial because yes he is trying to get his job back.

I always hated calling my husband while he was at work. I think using a phone for personal use while at work is stealing of company time. imo This was always a big pet peave of mine. sorry o/t

Depends on what line of work you are in I think and if you have downtime vs there is work you could be doing but you are lazy. I would die without my phone if I am stuck with a sleeping 1:1 and can't go anywhere.

Mr. Perera has technically been reinstated but the police department human resource department has appealed the decision and the appeal will be decided shortly after this trial. I can not think of the exact date at this time.

YES Thank you McKay!!! Why were you guys calling each other. This guy IMO does not trust his own immunity.

  • #2,536
Oh my gosh this Perera guy should not be a police officer!!! He is not truthful.

  • #2,537
Mr. Perera does not know what behoove means.

  • #2,538
So the system only knows what the officer tells it! hmmmm

  • #2,539
This witness did NOT want to admit that the cad system is only as good as the officers who are reporting their whereabouts...........He knows Mr. Chavez could have told one thing and did another......LOL
