NM - Tera Chavez, 26, found dead in her Los Lunas home, 22 Oct 2007 - #1

Do you think Tera would have shot herself with the gun upside down?

I think that would be un-natural and I would think not. imo

I am not trying to be snarky either, I am wondering if you think it is possible.

See that is the deal, I don't know! And the defense has just got me to wondering if what they just explained is possible, and if I am wondering won't the jury be wondering too? And then right there is the reasonable doubt that Mr. Chavez killed his wife.

I have been cleaning out my email inbox, an accumulation of over a week. I can't half hear the witness nor Serna (thankfully) since Mr. McCann moved into the chair so what the heck. They are going to twist everything around to where they want things.
I do not think Tera would have used the gun in an upside down position to shoot herself anywhere on her body.
Thank you to those who provided McCann's first name.

I think if Tera was left handed I could see her holding the gun that way. She was right handed though so not so much. I don't know why I feel that way, I just do. :twocents:

Yes I see that....but....of course you knew there would be a but......most people would not even think of firing a gun upside down would they? I had no idea one would fire upside down and defense and this expert witness did not know either or they would not have tested it, correct? So this has opened up a new senerio for the jury to think about. I hope the prosecution has something to counteract this testimony....like how the gun was found on the bed it could not have fallen the way it did if it was fired upside down or something like that.........

She didn't like guns and if,,,IF,,,she were ever to commit suicide I don't think she would have ever used a gun. Pills, or cutting her wrists, or some other manner. An upside down gun just doesn't ring true for me, I hope not for the jury either.

Nothing about this "suicide" makes any sense. One does not take pain medication for a cold before killing one's self.

Hi all! I just had to say that Serna is making me crazy! He has far too much control in this courtroom, IMO. Wasn't he just coaching this witness over the break? Is that allowed in some areas, but not in others? I haven't been able to keep up with the trial (RL stuff, ya know), but I've caught a bit each day. I'll have to get caught up over the long break. Hope everyone is doing well and has some "cracking" plans for tomorrow! ;)
Missed you guys!!

Serna was shot down by the judge but he has to say to the witness that the judge has allowed you to blah, blah, blah.....to make it sound like he won. Second sustain for the prosecution, somewhat. At least the volcano bodies won't come in. Crap, Serna is full of it.

We've missed you NCB! Glad you have just been busy and not sick, etc.
Serna has ruled this courtroom since the first hour of the trial. It's sickening. The judge is afraid of him--you can see it all over his face. The entire thing makes me ill as I am so afraid LC is going to be found not guilty....I have no faith in the prosecution. The only good thing going for us is that the majority of the jury is women and hopefully they can read these people like we are.

Missed you NCB wondered where you were. Yes Serna as usual drives me nuts, and trys to control the court room. He is really stretching things today. Trying to debunk all of the states witness at once I believe. This maybe all Serna has.

The good news is that the states crime analysis expert is in the galley today and hopefully he is drinking this in and taking copious notes for a redirect of some sort.

I don't remember was the state's expert excused or excused with recall? I hope they kept him on recall status!

Thank you, East--hope you are well! I'm nervous about an acquittal, too!! I didn't know the jury was majority female. That is a good thing--unless LC casts whatever apparent magnetic spell he has and "glamors" them a la the vampires on True Blood... :scared:

I think he was subject to recall. The only person, IIRC.

Thanks, Jewels!! :) As for Serna, he truly makes me want to pull my hair out. I can't remember a more annoying attorney. He makes me stress eat.
