I am feeling better after a couple of day post verdict. I just hope and pray the Cordova's can find some peace. I am not sure even with a guilty verdict you can feel totally at peace. Your loved one is still gone forever, and the scum who took them is still alive.
Did we even know what the sentence was for a guilty verdict?
I will keep watching for info on the civil case and I hope if someone see's it they will post it.
I know life isn't fair and have had my fair share of ups and downs in my almost 60 yrs of life. I imagine all of us have and will continue to in our days to come. Now I am sounding like an old person. Sorry!
The day of the verdict someone comes on here and try's to make us feel like we should feel sorry for the defendant. That rubs me wrong, I shouldn't have to defend my feelings for anyone. I tried to do that for most of my life and it caused me nothing but heart ache and lots of bad memories. I am so over those now and try to live my life in the moment.
One of these days I will learn to not invest so much emotion into events such as this. This is why I am preferring the trial over the missing children cases. They are just too gut wrenching. Yet I followed one yesterday that turned out fatal.
Thanks for listening. I am reading the post in the 2nd thread on the Hayes/Haze up and coming trial.
Were doing OK, yeah. Right now. We had a difficult day yesterday, said Joseph Cordova. Time goes on and life goes on were going to move forward.
For the Cordovas, the trial is still fresh in their minds after an excruciating few weeks of testimony.
I'll state the obvious. We were very disappointed in the verdict, said Joseph Cordova. We knew from the onset of the pretrial hearings that it was going to be a very upward battle for the prosecution.
We just can't internalize these trials Jewels,, but you already know that. It's isn't easy to live with the victim and the family throughout a long one and then just let it go. But we need to. Especially in this case with a not guilty verdict there is simply nothing else that can be done aside from the civil suit. We'll follow that and hopefully the ending will be better.
Get yourself back over to the Hayes/Haze thread when you are up to it--you have friends there already. We can laugh and cry together, as we have done in this trial. And I totally agree with you about the missing children cases--they are very rough on the emotions so I stay away. As many of us said already, it took me a while after the CA trial to even want to get involved from a distance any more. That ruined what we have always perceived to be a fair criminal justice system.
I have not felt well at all today. Too many strange things going on with my body and I'm sounding like an old person too,,,but I am. I'm going to drink a cup of decaf coffee outside in the 96 degree sun, watch my dogs play for a few minutes, and then I'm going to bed with several Harrison Ford movies. Nothing is finer than Harrison Ford. Except maybe Atticus Finch aka that gorgeous Gregory Peck![]()

Thank you Jewels for that post. That interview with the Cordova's was so amazingly insightful. We knew the PT was incredibly inhibited and the Cordova's want the same thing that we all said that the jury needed to have seen all the evidence for a clear motive. Also I love being confirmed on what was so obvious the sidebars and the relationship between the judge and Serna. I am going to file a freedom of information act for this case because I want to read what went on in those sidebars. Also the Cordova's confirmed the level of manipulation of Serna to twist and disgrace Tera's actions. What a nasty man and I don't know exactly why or how but this video validates my feelings of why when Mrs. Serna paid us a visit it made me feel physically sick. Justice was not served as we all know and sensed on varying levels that is was not going to be. Also just like us the Cordova's were shocked that LC would say Tera was jealous of her daughter. He said anything to stay out of prison and it worked.

Found this article on WAT:
"ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A philandering former Albuquerque police officer and his family were jubilant and thankful when he was acquitted of killing his wife. But the legal troubles of Levi Chavez are not over.
He still faces a wrongful death lawsuit from the family of his late wife Tera Chavez - a case that could include testimony that was prohibited during his murder trial and involves an alleged motive and his wife's fear of him."

The Eye On Albuquerque blog has a 5 part series on this case, and some other interesting bits about the chief of police who hired LC. It isn't what I would call mainstream media...and I suppose since it isn't as such it can't be called "fact" officially. It states it is a public opinion blog and not social media. It starts on July 22.

Thanks Fragile a very good read, the APD really seems to have many problems. I don't know if these have just been brought out since the LC event or if they were going to bring them out all along.
Another good read is on a FB page on Justice for Tera Chavez, I won't post it here. I know it is against tos.
