COURT NOTED, at the last 7/9/25 hearing, it was determined the deft. was incompetent based on Dr. Piasecki and Chapple-Love based on Calvin evidence, and the Deft. was ordered to Lakes or Stein, for further restoration to competency. COURT FURTHER NOTED, it had ordered new evaluations to be done; however, ADVISED it can no longer do that based upon the Price decision; therefore, ORDERED, the Deft. is to REMAIN on the list and this matter is OFF CALENDAR. Mr. Raman argued the Deft. was sent to Lakes / Stein and the Deft. has been found competent, noting competency was fluid; therefore, objected and argued in support of the Deft. proceeding to trial as she had been found competent. COURT FURTHER ORDERED, Deft. is TO BE SENT to Lakes/Stein and REMAIN on the list. CUSTODY

*Further Proceedings Hearing [re Competency] (@ 8:30am PT) - NV - *Journei Ross (3) stabbed to death on March 26, 2025 in Las Vegas. *Maketta Lucresha Phillips (41) arrested (3/26/25) & charged (3/27/25) with open murder-with the use of a deadly weapon or tear gas. Held without bond. Clark County/bound over to District Court

5/13/25 Update: Preliminary hearing held with Judge Noreen Demonte presiding. In custody. Bound over. Defendant not transported. Defendant refused to be transported to court. Competency Bind Over to District Court. Defendant conditionally bound over to District Court regarding Competency. Defendant to appear in District Court Department 32. Request for Evaluation for Competency Request & Order filed in open Court. Competency court date set on 6/4/25 @ 8:30am. Bail stil stands at none. 6/18/25 Update: Phillips appeared virtually in court Wednesday. Further proceedings continued on 7/9/25 @ 8:30am.
