Remains of Naomi Irion, 18, are found buried in mountainous region of Nevada - 150 miles from the Walmart parking lot where she went missing

Remains of kidnapped woman Naomi Irion, 18, are found in remote area of Nevada | Daily Mail Online

Your map's location is like 40 miles from Walmart.

Herat, didn’t you mention earlier that the Daily Mail’s map is probably wrong because that would put the gravesite on an Air Force Base, which would have restricted movement?

Herat mentioned earlier that the Daily Mail’s map is probably wrong because that would put the gravesite on an Air Force Base, which would have restricted movement.

Not on the Base itself, but on the restricted access bombing range for the base. The actual operations of the Naval Air Station are in the south end of Fallon, south of Highway 50.

DM's map also puts her 40-50 miles from the Fernley Walmart

Nothing in Churchill county is 150 miles from the Fernley Walmart

If it was "50" rather than "150"(keystroke error?) then both otto and I can both be correct.

AND

Why would he risk driving her vehicle 150 miles each way on a NHP-patrolled highway when he had just abducted and killed her and likely had her body in the car trunk or such? He wouldn't know whether there was an APB for her or not.

In my opinion, the reasons that Naomi was vulnerable are:
  • she had a strict routine of going to the convenience store at around 5 AM every day
  • she had a strict routine of parking in the dark Walmart lot for 20-30 minutes every morning
  • she wore ear buds while parked, couldn't hear what was happening around her
  • her attention was on her phone - connecting with overseas friends, wasn't looking at what was happening around her
  • she probably did not lock her car after stopping at the convenience store
  • she probably removed her seatbelt after parking at Walmart
  • she probably turned her car off while parked at the Walmart, unable to hit the gas and quickly drive away.
I think that being aware of surroundings is more important than anything else, regardless of age and gender.

Apologies if I’ve got this wrong, but from what Tamara has said in some of her interviews I’ve got the impression Naomi didn’t have the AirPods in her ears, she had them on her but didn’t have them in. JSS that she would use them on the bus journey.

EDIT: Having said this, I’m not sure that she’d know that unless Casey told her if they were visible in the footage he saw of TD kidnapping Naomi, so that may be speculation on Tamara’s part that she didn’t have them in.

Hwy 396 connects Hwy 80 with Stillwater. The road, Iron Mine Road, is paved. It goes past the area indicated on the Dailymail map and is more than 100 miles from Fernley - depending on whether he drove from Fernley to Lovelock to the body location, or Fernley to Fallon to Stillwater to body location

Casey would like to highlight the common mishandling of the beginning of missing persons cases. So many missing and murdered are treated as runaways though the family KNOWS something is wrong. When discussing this he would like you to use the hashtag #TrustTheFamily

Another gift to the world from the Irion family.

How many abused /abducted/ murdered women's cases were mishandled from the very first by judgement about their looks, their loves, their foibles?

AMEN !!
I have been saying that for years-- Trust the family.... they know their missing loved better than anyone.

I would love to jump onboard his rally-- is it on twitter ( I am guessing due to the # hashtag??) **

They’ve updated the hashtag for social media use to #JusticeForNaomiIrion as the previous one was already in use for someone else and they didn’t want to get in the way of it, according to Tamara on her Twitter page.

The theme I hear in this is routine. An illusion of safety, leading to bad habits, which by definition are routine. One thing we can do is foster good habits when it comes to our safety. After all, we excercise, eat healthy, etc., to prolong our lives, we should be fostering the same towards of attitude towards our welfare.

It's also possible that he returned to the scene of the crime on a later day in his truck and dug a grave.

MOO... I have this gut feeling that he didn't go 10 years. I can't shake the feeling that Naomi was not his first victim. I feel like there could be other victims out there.

ITA that it might be his "graveyard" and LE should thoroughly sweep the area. Can they use ground penetrating radar to find bodies? If so, I wish they would.

Keep in mind that his main office was in Reno, he lived in Fallon, and Ledcor’s website at one time, mentioned his Jobsite was in Elko. If you map it out, he could potentially have a 250-300 mile hunting range.

I hope that companies that offer shuttle services like the one that Naomi used at Panasonic will take a look at their routes and where they pick up employees. A dark Walmart parking lot doesn't strike me as a safe option, especially during hours when the store isn't even open.

I would like to take a moment to thank the many "locals' here who have provided such great input into this case, becoming eyes, and boots on the ground, offering insight that those of us hundreds or thousands of miles away would never have otherwise. I know that her family would appreciate your passion for finding Naomi, and now for finding justice for her, and the rest of us here appreciate you as well. For many, if not most of us here, it was probably a "local" case that first brought us here. Many of us chose to stay, because sadly, there will always be another case that demands justice. If it was Naomi who first brought you here, I hope you will consider staying. JMO

I’ve been on WebSleuths as an avid reader for years but had never signed up to post until this case. Much like everyone else I’ll continue to be here to empathise and discuss other cases, hoping as always that we get good outcomes, that we find perpetrators and that the victims never have their names forgotten.

Here's the location problem I have with the LE report about her body. I'm sorry I can't find the map I saw

It was a simple map that outlined Churchill County, but not a satellite map, so there were no easily recognizeable bodies of water or mountains on it. Within Churchill County there was a large dot in the upper, slightly off center part.

The Iron Mountain Mine that was referenced by otto is in Pershing County. So is the Relief Canyon Mine where TD had worked in 2019, as I recall. Now the roads that connect these mines with Fallon, where he lives currently all go from Pershing into Churchill county and would be natural routes he would know about. So he has lots of local knowledge about obscure and hidden places.

I will try to review reports to confirm if they also corroborate Churchill County. If so, then something is wrong in the written description because nowhere in Churchill County is 150 miles from the Fernley Walmart.

I would trust LE to get the county correct. Their pay depends on it. (ha-ha)

and these days, sadly, no one wants to burn gas while idling.
