I am just wondering here and hope a legal comes in to verify. Could they charge him with kidnapping in one county - this would put him behind bars and hold him... then charge him with murder in another county?? That is only IF he actually murdered her in Pershing County. The kidnapping charge would hold him while they get the autopsy back and work on building evidence in the murder.

My belief, and I’m not a lawyer, is that they can charge him with murder, no matter what the county is. I believe that they have solid evidence for kidnapping, and they don’t want the clock to start ticking on the murder charge until they’ve had time to process as much evidence as possible.

And here’s the murder charge...

Or did he learn from his mistakes?

That’s what I’m thinking.

I know the tactics of “daytime car guy” are different than those TD used to kidnap Naomi, but it wouldn’t be hard to change one’s technique. If “daytime car guy” was TD, maybe he’s an idiot & really thought a woman would be flattered to have him follow her, then tell her she’s beautiful & ask if she wanted to go for a ride with him, or on a date, or whatever he said to her in the video.
Then, hypothetically, if it was him, he learned that these tactics got him VERY rebuffed, (understandably - duh!), so he decided to find a stealthier method to obtain a victim.
IMO, the “daytime car guy” really does resemble TD. I wonder if LE has looked into the time & date of the video, & whether or not TD was at work at the time.

We've talked a lot about pings, but I'm not convinced that would have directed LE to where Naomi was buried. A ping will give a general area, but given the area she was found, and how difficult it would be to find a body, a ping would have had too large an area.

Couldn’t that explain the (slight) delay in finding her body? Could they have spotted the outline of a grave from the air?

Do you mean do we think he killed Naomi, or do we think he's the guy in the video being discussed?

I'm not sure I think that he's either of those guys. But I haven't been following super closely, so that's why I was wondering. It seems like a lot of people have just assumed that he's guilty so I thought maybe I'd missed something.

Possible. Thing is, those "pings" give a general area. Depending on the size of that general area it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Deadly Weapon

"According to Nev. Rev. Stat. § 193.165, a deadly weapon is defined as any instrument that will result in substantial bodily harm or death if used in the item’s ordinary manner. Any weapon, device, instrument or material that could cause bodily harm or death can be considered a deadly weapon in Nevada. This also includes attempts or threats of causing bodily harm or death.

Nevada’s laws state that the following items are considered deadly weapons:
  • A spring gun
  • An explosive or incendiary device
  • A dirk, dagger or switchblade knife
  • A nun chuck or trefoil
  • A blackjack or billy club or metal knuckles
  • A pistol, revolver, and/ or other firearms
  • A paint gun"

Open Murder

"In Nevada, a person accused of a homicide will generally be charged by the prosecutor with “open murder” - - meaning that they are charged with a general allegation of Murder, which includes each of the following types of homicide: First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter and Involuntary Manslaughter."

The woman that was followed is 100% convinced it was TD.
She had very dark car windows she said. She had a better look at him than we can see on the video.

If this woman genuinely believes that she has information relevant to the abduction and murder of Naomi, has she taken that information to police? It's odd that this woman seems to be attaching herself to Naomi's murder in a very public and somewhat sensational way ... "she's the one who barely got away!"

Seems that Nevada has a broader definition of burglary that includes entering a vehicle with the intent to commit assault.

"In Nevada, the crime of Burglary has a much broader definition. Our Burglary laws are found in Nevada Revised Statute (“NRS”) Chapter 205, which covers “Crimes Against Property” and specifically defined in NRS 205.060. Nevada defines Burglary as any person who enters any structure (it can be a house, room, apartment, business or any building or vehicle) and enters with the intent to commit larceny, assault, battery, to obtain money or property by false pretenses or any other felony while inside."

Also includes information on Robbery.

Should'nt there be kidnapping as well?
What is making the body disappear called? Destruction of evidence?
No sexual assault?
No theft of a vehicle?

No she reported it twice I think. You have to watch GH for that.
She also doesn't want her name out there.
No she's not making it about her. She was angry they didn't do anything with her info.

"Burglary and destruction of evidence" - curious what that means. I think of burglary as breaking into a home. How about carjacking? Could the destruction of evidence mean her purse is missing? Perhaps her poor body was too decomposed to detect any signs of sexual assault?
