Not sure why I want to understand exactly how the suspect approached Naomi's vehicle, but I think it helps me understand the suspect.

The photos that were released first show the suspect walking away from the camera in the direction of B to C (see illustration). The video then shows the suspect emerging from C after a car pulls in and shines lights on him. I'm curious at what time he was first seen on CCTV.

Was he standing there, in the dark, watching Naomi's car out of sight of other vehicles? He then walks slowly past the parked cars, stalls by the blue car on the end, then walks towards the camera, stops, turns around and looks at Naomi's car again.

Imagine what he must have been thinking? Was he fighting the urge at the same time realizing that he'd been carefully planning this step by step for some time so now was the perfect opportunity? Everything lined up for him, including parking his truck out of sight?

I'm guessing that, from where we see him standing at the end of the video, he then crosses the parking lot and approaches Naomi's car from behind, point D - although I'm not sure which direction her vehicle faced.

Red lines are suspects possible path based on photos and video.

Hmm, I was thinking arrogance. Seems many of these creeps think they are smarter than the average person and LE. Brazen, no matter which way you lean tho.

I wonder if the family has considered contacting Texas Equusearch to see if they may be able to help. This seems to be the kind of search they excel at. JMO

It was brought up in the FB group so hopefully the family is aware of that option. They were also asking for SAR persons today during the presser. Lots of places to hide in this area, unfortunately, so experts would be helpful.

I'm still not ruling out the possibility that this is a stolen truck.

Let's say some guy (the boss) runs a trafficking ring and keeps a stolen truck in his garage, and he has 5 dudes that work for him. If dude #4 goes to the boss's house and gets said 'stolen truck' to go commit a crime, then he "has access to it" as LE said.

Right now only LE knows for sure.

Did we know that there’s another young lady missing from this area? Mariah Cook. No thread?
She was found safe, and it was determined she was not missing.

I believe cell ping from what I recall. Hmm, tried a quick search but can't confirm. Sheriff Page doesn't confirm but I thought that's what I saw when it went live this weekend.

So either they have the suspect's name/phone info... or Naomi's phone pinged (or other phone activity) from that area. MOO

There is also the possibility of stolen from business, such as dealer or rental car. Not usually as possible but we actually saw one in action recently.
We went to Southern CA last month and rented a car. While we were looking for the parking spot ours was in, we saw a truck ram into a concrete pillar. Turns out he had gone up to this parking garage, tried to steal a truck, ran into the gate at security, backed up then hit the concrete pillar and them jumped out and ran.

She intentionally left her home that night and was not missing. She contacted family and was found safe. She wasn’t missing. Just fyi. This was on her mothers Fb page.

I would think, at a minimum, the FBI knows where this truck was first purchased from a dealer. The age and the customization should (IMHO) make this a simple thing to pick out of an inventory.

That they choose not to reveal that tells me a lot, too.

Expensive truck is gonna be found really easy. I don't think someone would steal a new truck like this to kidnap someone. But I have been wrong before

Nothing surprises me anymore. This area has a LOT of jacked up, souped up expensive trucks tho so I'm afraid it wouldn't stick out as one would hope, imo. Lots of 4x4's, suv's. Hopefully the extra details make it easier to spot.

Yeah, that is my thought too. If you owned a $70K truck and someone stole it, I think you would be on the phone pretty quickly to report it. And then if you saw a truck that looked just like yours on tv, being connected to a major crime, I think you would be on the phone pretty quickly to report that as well. By the same token, if you had lent your truck to someone else and saw it on tv, connected to this crime, I would think you would be looking for LE to let them know, before they come looking for you. All that leaves is someone stealing or borrowing the truck without the owner's knowledge, keeping it several hours, and then returning it to the owner without owner ever knowing. That seems highly unlikely to me.

Other options for having access to a vehicle that I came up with:

corporate vehicle issued to you

corporate vehicle you could use for company work (maybe driving a group of workers to a job, or picking up orders or stuff like that)

friend's vehicle you can borrow

relative's vehicle you can borrow

vehicle that's not routinely driven that you can borrow or steal the keys for--like our neighbor has a kid away at college and her vehicle is parked in the driveway. Everybody is gone all day and if somebody had they key and took the vehicle but brought it back by evening, nobody would know. Or in this case, maybe somebody normally drives a less-valuable vehicle to work and saves the good truck for weekend hunting trips.

There are probably more that I didn't think of.

Depending on this guy's connections or skills, thought too of switching vehicles again and/or painting or even vinyl coating. Seems easier to just hide or swap vehicles but you never know.
